“ Brand: Avon / Type: Bath Melt/Foam / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types „
I used to be an Avon representative and tried this when it came into the representative brochure where you are offered new products at a reduced price in the hope that you will then convince your customers to buy them.
There are many different scents available in the Avon range and these have been going apparently since my Mam was an Avon representative when she was 18 and trust me that is a lot of years, obviously the available scents have changed massively since then.
The bubble baths are available in two different sizes, a 500ml bottle is £4 and a litre bottle is £5 so as you can see buying the bigger once is greatly better value. I always wait until these are on offer and then stock up, you often find that Avon will say buy the 500ml and get a litre bottle free.
The bottle for the bubble bath is made of plastic and has bumpy ribbed sides rather than straight, the top is a screw top cap and the bottle is orange in colour, I bought this one as I tend to like the smell of orange scented products.
Inside the bottle you have the product obviously which is bright orange in colour, the product is a pretty good consistency, it is thin enough to pour from the bottle but not too think so that you use half a bottle at a time. I find that the bubble bath lathers up well and the smell is lovely like spicy oranges.
I liked this bubble bath and found that the bubbles stayed in my bath for the duration of it which is good as I find a lot of bubble baths the bubbles disappear after 5 minutes. I liked the scent and felt it left my skin slightly scented too and the bathroom smelt lovely when it had been used. I also felt that the bubble bath left my skin feeling soft too.
The only drawback of this product is it is much more expensive than a lot of bubble baths on the market and for this reason I will give it 4 stars out of 5 and you should also be aware if you order off the internet you have to pay delivery if you order under £20. I have now tried many of these bubble baths and haven't found many I don't like.
*~*Introduction and reason for purchase*~*
When I met my now husband he had just bought the cottage we now live in today as a family and the small bathroom featured an old style cast iron bath in more or less perfect condition. As I was used to just showers previously at home at my mum and dad's house I used to relish long hot soaks in the bath once I moved in to the cottage and loved indulging in buying different scented bubble baths and creams.
When we decided to also have a shower fitted I found that it was far more convenient for me to just have showers especially when the children came along as I never seemed to have enough time to relax in the bath any longer. After receiving several gift sets for Christmas last year that all featured some form of bath soak I have taken to once more indulging in a long soak at least once a week as an excuse to use up my stash of bubble baths and this review focuses on my experience of using the Spiced Cranberry & Orange Bubble Bath by Avon which was bought by my mum as a stocking filler for me.
*~*Price, packaging & availability*~*
As this is an Avon product it's available unsurprisingly from Avon and can be purchased through a local Rep via a brochure or online @www.avonshop.co.uk. It's worth noting though that if bought online there is normally an added cost of postage and packing so if it can be bought through a rep it will save you money.Spiced Cranberry & Orange Bubble Bath is available in two sizes which are:
* 500 ml
They are regularly on offer but at the moment the smaller bottle of 500 ml is £2 with the 1L currently half price at £2.50 making the larger bottle far more economical to purchase.
The packaging of the bottle is quite basic being in a tall upright standing plastic vessel. There are fluted edges which cascade downwards on each side with the bottle being an opaque plastic with a slight transparency meaning the contents can still be viewed though not clearly. Apart from a small image at the bottom depicting spices, oranges and cranberries and the logo down the centre there is little all else in the way of decoration.
The bubble bath is accessible via a screw lid which is perched directly on top and there is a reasonable sized opening for pouring the liquid out so there is no struggling involved trying to access it.
*~*Our experience of using this*~*
As I previously mentioned I tend to shower most of the time though on a Friday evening I have been making some much needed 'me' time which involves amongst other things a nice long soak in the bath. Because I received quite a few bath products at Christmas time I'm still making my way through the myriad of toiletries I still have stockpiled so have only recently opened this Spiced Cranberry & Orange bubble bath.
On removing the screw top lid there is a foil covering which seals the gap and this is easily enough to pierce with my nail or even the fingertips to gain access to the contents. On removing this covering the fragrance starts to escape and my first impressions were how warming and Christmassy it came across as with the orange being particularly noticeable.
The bubble bath is quite thick in consistency but I was pleased how easily it seemed to pour on each occasion as it smoothly slides from the bottle rather than 'glug' out in large blobs like some thicker bath products can and which normally end up in wasted amounts being used. The liquid is a much brighter orange than it appears in the bottle and once tipped under running water of the hot tap it instantly started to fill my bath up with enticing spicy scented bubbles.
This product smells simply divine and lingers all the while the bubbles are still there giving off a spicy orange with a hint of cranberry aroma which makes my bathroom smell wonderful too as well as my skin.
*~*Results and recommendation?*~*
There is something about the bubble baths in Avon that can be off putting but I think a lot of that is down to the decidedly 'cheap' looking packaging. I'm not snobby by any means but I do judge a book by it's cover to some extent especially where beauty items and toiletries are concerned, and because of this I haven't really tried many of the Avon bubble baths before only occasionally if I have received as a gift like in the case here.
The liquid is a rich and warm aroma and whilst it is perfectly befitting for the Christmas period it doesn't smell out of place used at any time of year as the fragrance is so welcoming when in bubble form that you forget it's *supposed* to be a Winter scent.
The bubbles themselves are infused with the rich fruity and zesty aroma and last a reasonable amount of time - I laze in the bath for around 20 minutes and find that I have to wash them away with the cold water tap after I've taken the plug out so longevity wise they do the job.
My skin can be sometimes sensitive and in the past I've experienced soreness and rashes with Avon products though these were mainly facial products but I am still wary when using anything from this brand because of this. Luckily this bubble bath has caused no adverse reactions and if anything has left my skin feeling soft and to a degree moisturised and smelling beautiful. My two young sons often prefer baths to showers and I have used this on several occasions since opening it and neither has suffered skin wise despite them both also having sensitive skin, so it's definitely gentle enough for the whole family to use.
I like this as well because of it's 'neutral' fragrance meaning it's not too feminine and ideal for anyone in the family to use making it an economical purchase in this day and age as it's not too girly so both my boys and husband are happy to use it.
I've used this on numerous occasions now both for myself and my children and because only one to two cap fulls is required each time this product is lasting a fair while with the bottle still almost 3/4 full. I've even used in the shower as a gel as it was the closest within reach and I have to say it cleansed my skin to perfection so it's a multi purpose product making it excellent value in my opinion.
I will definitely look at the other fragrances available next time I'm looking through an Avon brochure as so far I've been extremely impressed with this bubble bath and look forward to trying out the others in the range.
My bottle of Avon's Spiced Cranberry and Orange bubble bath was given to me in a hamper of toiletries my mother made up for me as a Christmas gift. I've been using this alongside a couple of other bubble baths and in all honesty have been surprised at how much I really like this product.
In the bottle I think it's fair to say that this doesn't look much. The packaging is fairly cheap looking, having a sort of ribbed/bubbled appearance with only the product name and a picture of orange slices, cranberry and what I assume to be a cinnamon stick on the front. Of course the packaging is functional and it doesn't leak, which is all you really need, but this is perhaps not a product for those who are fans of fancy packaging.
The bubble bath always looks a reddish colour in the bottle to me, but when poured into the bath under running water, is actually bright orange in colour. The product is reasonably thick, yet pours easily and I have learned that I don't need to use a lot to get a good amount of bubbles.
The smell of the bubble bath is the main positive about the product in my opinion. In the bottle it smells quite spicy, but when poured, the first scent to really become apparent is the orange. It reminds me of orangeade as it has a sort of watered down smell to it, yet it's still pleasant. The longer the product is in the water, the more the scent seems to develop and it isn't usually long before I can smell the cranberries and the spice, which does seem to be cinnamon. It's quite a warming and comforting scent which is perfect for cold days.
In terms of bubbles, this product is also impressive. It foams up nicely, leaving the surface of my bath covered in frothy white bubbles. Both the scent and the bubbles last until the end of my bath, which again is impressive as this is a reasonably cheap product.
The bubble bath is just that, a bubble bath and doesn't promise to leave your skin soft, glowing or anything like that, so I wasn't particularly disappointed when these things didn't happen. I will note that although it didn't do much positive for my skin, it didn't do anything negative either and wasn't drying or irritating to the eczema I have on my foot.
The bubble bath is available in two sizes, the 500ml and the 1 litre which I have. Prices are below, but bare in mind this is Avon and their special offers are so frequent it should be easier to find it cheaper. Buy from www.avonshop.co.uk or your local Avon representative.
500ml - £4
1 litre - £5
Overall, I think this is a good product for what it is and I've been enjoying using it. In an ideal world I would like something that moisturised and cared for my skin as well, but you get a big bottle for your money which should last a long time and the smell of the product is pleasant as well, so I'm not complaining and will happily award this a four star rating.
