~ Avon Strawberry Sorbet Bubble Bath ~
I work part time as an Avon Representative and this means that I have acquired rather a lot of Avon products that have been stashed away until they are needed. I am slowly working my way through the huge mountain of products, making a promise to myself not to purchase any more until this backlog has dissipated slightly. This review will focus on my experiences of using the "Avon Strawberry Sorbet Bubble Bath."
I paid only £1.75 for the large bottle of bubble bath, which is a generous 500ml in size. I think this price represents excellent value for money, although it may be worth noting that it normally retails for more than this, usually around the £4 mark. As @ the time of writing (February 2013), you can purchase the bottle of bubble bath for £2 from the Avon website at www.avonshop.co.uk, but I always recommend speaking to your local Avon Representative if you have one, who should be able to secure the best deal for you.
The packaging for the product is really rather attractive, and is in keeping with the rest of the bubble bath liquids from within the same Avon range. The bottle is very tall and slim, but with a distinctive 'ridged' design at the outer sides, incorporated into the sturdy bottle. This design offers a little eye-catching detail, but I actually find it is a very useful design, allowing for a firm and steady grip to be maintained on the bottle, even with wet or soapy hands. There is a white plastic lid on top of the bottle that screws off easily. The name and fragrance/scent of the product appear on the front of the bottle alongside a small but pretty picture of some juicy-looking strawberries. All in all, I think the packaging is attractive enough, and is completely functional and easy to use.
The liquid itself is a bright pink colour, similar to that of a raspberry sauce. I find its consistency is not overly thick, so I have no issues with it dispensing from the bottle easily. It is not, however, so thin as to spill and pour all over the place whilst I am using it, which is a significant fault I have encountered with other bubble bath products that I have used in the past, and particularly those that are at the 'budget' end of the spectrum.
I always use bubble bath liquids like this one by pouring it under a running tap, and as soon as the Avon liquid begins to disperse into the bathwater, I find that the previously rather faint fragrance begins to take on more 'body', with the aroma gaining strength as the tub fills. The delicious smell of strawberry is difficult to miss, although I do find it is slightly less robust than some of the other fruit-scented products that I use on a regular basis. In saying that, I am able to detect it easily and I think it smells lovely, with its 'berry-like' aroma feeling pleasantly uplifting, which has been something of a welcome trait recently, during the cold and dark winter mornings. Once the bath tub is around half-way full, I find the sweetness in the scent really comes through, and although this sweetness has always been at the core of the fragrance, it seems to fully develop around this point. I think the best way to describe this particular sweet element is to describe it as being quite 'sherbet-like' in its aroma, with a sort of 'saccharine' edge being found within the fruit-based sweetness that was only faintly present before. I have to say that I assumed initially that this sweetness was going to feel very sickly whilst bathing in the liquid, but surprisingly, this has not been the case at all and I have found there is nothing remotely over-powering about the fragrance - or sweetness - of this particular liquid. I found this wholly surprising, but I was pleased as I'd been concerned that the product would feel unsuitable for my own tastes.
I was pleased too that the lovely aroma hung around a little whilst I bathed, although it felt quite subtle and 'mellowed'. The Strawberry Sorbet bubble bath produced plenty of bubbles, and these adorned the top layer of the bathwater as I soaked, making for a very pleasant and relaxing bath time experience. I had no issues with either the quantity or quality of the lather and bubbles produced by this product, and thought it performed very well, and certainly as well as the other bubble bath products that I have been using recently.
I noticed too that a faint whiff of the delicate, sweet, strawberry aroma was present on my skin after bathing, although it didn't take long for this to become 'swamped' with other, more robust products with stronger scents, such as body lotions or butters.
As with all the products in the assorted Avon ranges that I have tried out before, I have experienced nothing in the way of sensitivity or aggravation to my sensitive skin, so I do feel this particular bubble bath carries a rather mild and gentle formulation that is suitable for those consumers who, like me, suffer easily with 'flare ups' or dryness if harsh or aggressive products are used on the skin.
In summary, I would recommend the Avon Strawberry Sorbet Bubble Bath and I would purchase it again, although I can't say that I find the usual purchase price of £4 to be particularly good value, so I'll be deducting one star in the product rating score for that. Otherwise, I have no complaints about the product, its performance or its lovely aroma, and I do recommend giving it a try out... IF you can purchase it whilst it is available at a discounted price.
I had had my eye on this offering from Avon for a while but it seemed that everytime I looked at a brochure it was full price. I know that it is often on offer because I used to be a representative myself so therefore being the tight wad I am I was not willing to pay £4 for a 500ml bottle or £5 for a litre bottle. I finally caught it on a half price offer a few campaigns ago and I immediately knew that from all the scents this was the one I really wanted to try. I paid (well mum did as I still haven't paid for it...must remember to take it over tomorrow!) £2.50 for a one litre bottle which I think is very good value for money and it see on par with other mid range brands.
The bottle isn't anything special to be honest but it looks ok. The bottle has ridges as can be shown above and I actually do like this aspect of the bottle because I often have wet hands when pouring this and it gives me that little bit more grip. There is a picture of a strawberry on the bottle and we are told that it is strawberry sorbet bubble bath. The bottle is a strong, thick frosted plastic and this allows you to see the product inside easily which is brilliant for checking how much you have left.
The bubble bath is a pink in colour. It's quite a deep, dark pink and is verging on being red. It is quite thick but still flows easily out of the bottle and I can easily pour the correct amount into my bath with ease. I find that as soon as I open the screw top cap on this I am hit with the lovely, fruity scent of strawberries which is quite strong but it's certainly not overpowering or too strong. It has a nice, natural scent and even having a proper sniff I cannot detect the scent of chemicals or anything artificial. It certainly has a nice tang to the scent but this is toned down a little with the addition of a small amount of cream.
I like to have a lot of bubbles in my bath and I was very pleased when I poured a small amount of the bubble bath under the warm running water and saw that the bubbles were developing thick and fast. I only ever need to put about 20ml of this in to get a really good amount of bubbles. As well as there being a good quantity of bubbles they are also of a really good quality. They are thick and whipped up nicely. They are a brilliant white in colour which sparkles when the light catches the bath and the bubbles make the bath look very inviting.
I love my bath to keep its scent whilst I am in the bath and this really does, I can still detect the strawberry scent when I let the water out, sometimes up to an hour later. The bubbles also remain whilst I am in the bath and when I get out it actually looks like I haven't got in yet!
When in the bath I find it really relaxing and I do think it helps me relax. My skin is sensitive but I have no problems with this, my skin actually feels soft and supple.
I love this bubble bath and will definitely buy it again. I think that when it's on offer its a bargain. A great bubble bath for everyone.
Avon do some good offers on most of their products, especially on bath and shower products. I recently bought a few different types of bubble baths to have a try. Can't beat a nice relaxing bath to unwind.
Avon bubble baths have had the same packaging for years, I remember crafty sessions at school using the empty packaging and that's 15 years ago, at least! It has a very cheap look to it, with ribs going all the way down the large bottle. Although it is coloured in a deep pink colour, the bubble bath is still visible so you know how much you've got left. At the top of the bottle is a white lid, the opening is quite large.
The bubble bath liquid is surprisingly quite thick in consistency, it has a bright pink colour to it even though it's described as strawberry sorbet, I was expecting it to be red! It is very easy to pour from the bottle as the opening at the top of the bottle is quite wide.
Once the bottle has been opened and the bubble bath is being poured into the running water, you can smell the fragrance instantly. It isn't as strawberry scented as I would have liked, it smelt more like a strawberry jelly or sweets smell, I guess that's where the sorbet comes into the product name!
I use quite a bit of this bubble bath with each use, the same as most bubble baths really, as I like being covered in bubbles. The bubbles do froth up well and normally last quite well too, with a bath normally taking around 30-45 minutes, the bubbles are still evident when I get out.
The scent does linger in the bathroom for a good few hours after I've had a bath but with regards to the scent lingering on my skin, I'm quite disappointed. After drying off there is only a very faint strawberry smell left and then within 30 minutes it's totally gone.
I bought the 500ml bottle of this bubble bath for around £2. It is also available in a 1 litre sized bottle for £5. With regards to value for money, I think it is ok. I'm quite disappointed with the fragrance of this bubble bath, but the bubbles do last well and baths with this bubble bath used are relaxing.
Avon Strawberry Sorbet Bubble Bath
Avon is a good family brand which has evolved over the years. Today Avon sells a vast range of products from their own branded cosmetics and bath and body to home ware and gifts. The brand has over the past few years gone online instead of just being the catalogues I have grown up seeing. This has made buying Avon products much easier and efficient, as you don't have to wait now for the catalogues and the unknown delivery dates. It also allows you to view a lot more products than the catalogue could possibly hold.
According to today's website price the Avon Strawberry Sorbet bubble bath is half price, the original price was £4.00 and it can now be purchased for £2 (accurate on 21/02/2013) and the 1litre bottle is only 50p more at £2.50. This price is great as the bottle is 500ml and the recommended use is one capful per bath and the bottle therefore would last a long time. However, I would recommend using at least 3 capfuls to create a proper bubble bath. This would be considered a disadvantage as you will obviously use more then you should so you get less for your money. I find it doesn't last as long as you would hope and therefore it would possibly be cheaper to buy Radox bath items that are smaller but last longer.
This product has a truly delicious scent the strawberry scent reminds me of the strawberry foam sweets I used to enjoy as a child, the smell stays on your skin for a good couple of hours after use. If you are looking for a fresh strawberry smell then this product is not for you as it definitely does smell of the manufactured strawberry scent that is so well known today in many of the cosmetic and toiletry industries. This does not put me off the product as I think the scent is fantastic.
As far as a bubble bath goes I think this should be used purely on this basis only, to create bubble. I did not feel any change in my skin after bathing which I think is a quality that should be held by all bubble baths in the fact that it should leave your skin moisturised and looking good.
Therefore I would only recommend this product to families who are just looking for a generic bubble bath for making bubbles and making your bath smell nice and that alone.
The Avon Strawberry Sorbet bubble bath is a treat for both your senses and your pocketbook. This relatively cheap bubble bath comes in a large 24 Fl. Oz container. The directions state t use one capful per bath. If you prefer a lot of foam I recommend using two or three. Since you use only capful's at a time you can make a single bottle of this last for months on in. This makes it well worth the price you pay.
The bubble bath's scent is a strong sweet smell. It does smell of strawberry but not fresh ones more like the scent you find in most cosmetics. The bubble bath creates a lot of foam so kids will love this stuff. It doesn't color the water when it is used so there is no fear of dyeing the skin. This bubble bath seconds as a skin moisturizer, it will leave your skin feeling soft and supple after every use. The smell will also stay on the skin for about an hour after use.
Overall this is a great product you get more then what you pay for, and it can be used for both kids and adults. Its large size makes it great for pampering yourself or giving it to a friend for a gift of any occasion. The moisturizing effects of the bubble bath give it an extra punch of pleasure.
Like I mentioned in my previous review, I have recently started having Avon again. In the brochure I noticed the 1 litre bottle's of bubble bath were on offer for £2.25 instead of the 'usual' £5. I say usual but they are more often than not on offer as with all Avon stuff which I think is fab, it always makes you feel like your getting a bargain!
I decided on Strawberry Sorbet as it sounded really nice. I wasn't dissapointed!
My son uses way too much bubble bath so buying huge bottles works out better for the whole family as this way we all get to use it!
I very rarley buy bubble baths from Avon as they always remind me of my step-mother, not in a bad way but an old fashioned way, I always remember seeing these lined up along the bath in peach and cream coloured bottles and then her awful frilly shower curtains framing in them in some weird OCD way, she loved them being on show and would go in a arrange them if they had been touched/used/glanced at!!
But seeing as my son has a bubble bath obsession at the moment I did buy it.
I am so glad I did, Ok so the bottle isn't the most glamourous looking but it isn't the worse and this one is a very funky bright pink colour which look great in the bathroom!
My son was the first to use it and I warned him beforehand not to overdo it and just put two capfuls under running water, he was pleased with the result and although it wasn't as strong as some of the scented bubble bath products I have used, I did get a faint whiff of strawberry as I reached the top of the stairs to give him a towel out of the dryer (he insists on a warm towel!).
I used it later on when I went up for a bath and rather than using the cap to measure I guesstimated and poured it under running water, the bubble started bubbling straight away and there were very many! The scent was lovely too. It is quite sweet but not overpowering.
I got into the bath and had a nice soak then washed etc. The bubbles were still there at the end of my bath albeit no so many.
It doesn't offer any moisurising qualities but did leave my skin smelling sweet and delish for about two hours afterwards then I just smelled clean.
For the price I am more than pleased and will definatly buy it again... in fact I have just ordered 2 Orange and Cranberry ones from the new brochure!
I have used it a couple of times and my son has used it every night since we had it and although it is being used, it also seems to be lasting quite well, I think because it gives plenty of bubbles with two capfuls my son is pleased with it!
My mother is an Avon rep and I placed a large order with her a month or so ago as she let me stay with her for several weeks and refused to take any cash for it. One of the products I bought was the Strawberry Sorbet bubble bath which I have been using for the last three to four weeks.
I must admit, in the 12 years or so I have been shopping with Avon, I have always avoided this range of bubble baths. The main reason for this, is purely that I feel the packaging looks incredibly cheap and the large bottles, in my opinion make them look like the sorts of bubble baths you find in the local chemist for 30p a litre. So in other words, I have avoided them due to pure snobbery! As there was a 3 for £5 offer on this range and I was trying to bulk out my order, I decided I would finally bite the bullet and give them a try.
As noted before, the packaging of this bubble bath is rather uninspiring and quite frankly cheap looking. It comes in a ribbed, frosted bottle with the name of the product written on the front. A bit of a schoolboy error with this particular product was to write the name in red whilst the product is dark pink - of course this results in not being able to read the product name whilst the bottle is full...doh!
The bubble bath itself is bright pink (much brighter than it appears in the bottle) and surprisingly thick. I had expected something with the consistency of water (snobbery coming into things again) but it's a reasonably thick liquid and a good shake is required to get it out of the bottle.
As soon as this is poured out, a rich strawberry scent is evident. It's rather sweet and a little artificial. I would describe it as being more like strawberry flavoured sweets than a true strawberry fragrance. The product foams up well and you can get away with using a relatively small amount per bath as a little goes a long way. I also find that the bubbles last until the end of the bath, a real positive as I've often been disappointed by products where the bubbles are gone just minutes after getting into the bath.
When bathing in this, other than a layer of frothy white bubbles, I notice no real difference to the feel of the water, as can often happen with pricier products. I also find that after around 5 minutes I can no longer smell the product in the water which is disappointing.
After bathing with this I notice no discernable difference to my skin. I don't find that the fragrance stays on my skin, but on a more positive note, despite being a soapy product, this doesn't dry my skin.
I should note, that although on the whole I have not been hugely impressed with this product, there is someone else in my household who loves it. He probably won't thank me for broadcasting this, but my boyfriend absolutely loves it. He always comments on how much he likes the scent and despite the fact I personally feel the scent disappears immediately after use, he reckons he can smell it in the bathroom for hours afterwards. He has even asked me if it was very expensive and seemed surprised when I told him it wasn't.
Talking of price, this product is available in two sizes - 500ml costing £4 and 1 litre costing £5. I have the 500ml size and despite being used on almost a daily basis over the past month I have found that I still have around a third of the bottle left so it does offer good value for money. I would also suggest waiting for special offers, like the 3 for £5 deal I got this on. Buy from your local Avon rep or online at www.avonshop.com
On the whole, I found this product to be a fairly average bubble bath. The scent was nice enough but nothing special (For me at least, my boyfriend would disagree) and although the bubbles last well and you will get lots of uses from one bottle, I don't think I would go out of my way to purchase this again and feel I can only give it a very average three stars.

Personally, I don't use Avon but a lot of my friends do and my sister it was actually my sister that first purchased this bubble bath but, being pregnant, she had a heightened sense of smell and couldn't bare to use the bubble bath as it made her gag! I'm never one to pass up a freebie especially if its beauty related so I snatched her hand off when she offered me a virtually full bottle after telling me she'd ordered if from her Avon representative.
To look at the bubble bath comes in a large plastic pot with a screw lid. The bright pink bubble bath is visible inside which looks really funky and girly. The packaging is very minimalistic but didn't look out of place in my very girly bathroom!
When I unscrewed the lid the scent was fruity, primarily strawberry scented and this scent was quite strong but very pleasant and I was looking forward to having a soak in its bubbles.
I poured in a small amount of the bubble bath alongside the hot running water and the steam rising up from the bath immediately smelt of strawberries which, again, was very pleasant and girly. The bubbles soon started to fill the bath and lathered up to form foamy bubbles. Once in the bath I found the bubbles to be quite creamy and relaxing and they lasted for the whole 20 minutes that I was in the bath. The smell was also still present in the bath which was an added bonus.
I wouldn't say my skin felt smooth or any different after getting out of the bath so as far as I'm concerned there were no moisturising effects to be had from using this product.
I have only used this bubble bath once, despite being happy with my freebie I prefer Radox bath products and decided to give this to my little sister instead who relishes in the fact that she has her own grown up strawberry bubble bath!
For 500ml of this bubble bath it will set you back £4 but that is average for a bottle of bubble bath and would last you for around 15 baths!
I've been a fan of Avon products for years as generally they are cheap and cheerful and tend to work for my skin/hair etc. One range I have never tried though, up to press that is, is their bubble baths. I think the main reason is though w have a bath I tend to stick with showering due to convenience, but when I received this - Strawberry Sorbet Bubble Bath in an Avon gift set over Christmas I decided to indulge myself in a few hot soaks and test it out..
This bubble bath comes housed in a generic looking plastic bottle that has an opaqueness to it but is still transparent to a degree so that the liquid is visible. The liquid in question is a deep raspberry pink in colour, which as this is called 'strawberry sorbet' you would expect it to be..well more strawberry coloured? Anyway that is neither here nor there I suppose.
The bottle is upright standing and has a flat appearance from the front which gives the impression that this is a larger bottle than it is but is a standard sized 500 ml.
To access the bubble bath there is a fairly large white plastic lid that sits directly on top of the bottle. This opens with ease and also securely closes as well (I did accidentally knock the bottle off of the side of the bath after using but there were no spillages so I can vouch it does close securely).
On opening the bubble bath and removing the sealed plastic lid around the rim eventually I was met by a wonderful fruity aroma of strawberries. The fragrance is not a natural - far from it but having said that it doesn't have that disgusting artificial aroma either so is somewhere in the middle.
I'm not entirely sure what part the sorbet plays as to me it just has a plain strawberry fragrance but maybe that's just been added on for marketing purposes to make it sound more enticing to buyers?
My experience of using this~
I have used this now on 6 different occasions since Christmas as mentioned preferring the convenience and practicality of showering. On each occasion I have poured a splash under running water (about the amount that would fit into the cap) and have had successful results each time. A small amount seems to suffice for a large almost excess of bubbles and it does foam up very quickly with just the tiniest amount used. The fragrance is very pleasant and each bubble seems strawberry scented so if you like strawberries you wouldn't be disappointed by this product.
What I do like about Avon is their products tend to be cheap enough to stock up on each month..unfortunately the packaging for some of their ranges also has that 'cheap' look about them as well. This isn't the worst packaging I've ever seen but when you are paying £5 at full price you expect it to look a little bit classier but maybe that's me sounding snobby!
The bubble bath itself is of a lovely thick consistency, and though I have used approximately six times since opening the bottle it looks like it's barely been touched so if paying full price I suppose it works out economical in the long run.
The bubbles don't disperse quickly which is nice unlike some other brands I have used, and also the bubble bath has caused no itching or rashes on my sensitive skin which is always a plus. The strawberry fragrance not only lingers on my skin for quite a while but my entire bathroom had the most delicious strawberry fragrance for hours after using.
Both of my children and my husband have tested this out and have all said how nice it smells so from the Supersonic household it gets a 5 out of 5 (despite the cheap looking packaging).
Available via your local Avon rep, online or even on Ebay.
This was another product I picked up in my recent Avon shopping spree and this is probably one of the products I've been least impressed with. I hope this review will help explain why.
*** I'm forever blowing bubbles... ***
Firstly the packaging ... it looks okay in the picture above, but in real life I really don't like it. It's a white, see-through plastic with ridges all up the side and a small strawberry illustration on it. I really do feel that it looks cheap and tacky and quite unappealing, and I don't think it looks very nice in the bathroom. In fact, in my opinion, it has no redeeming features at all! Not a good start...
*** Pink pop ***
The bottle has a white screwtop lid which I took off to have a sniff of the contents which, as you can see through the bottle, are a deep pink colour. The smell is definitely of strawberries, although it is quite an unnatural odour which I find quite chemically. For me this heightened the sense that this is really a cheap product, and I was a little reluctant to try it out at all...
*** Bubble benefits ***
But I decided to give the bubbles the benefit of the doubt and give this a go in the bath. The pink liquid is quite thick and pours easily into the bath, and I'm glad to say that the strawberry scent is much more pleasant once it's in the water, and definitely a bit more natural. This was quite a relief, I have to say, as the chemical smell in the bottle is very off-putting. It also created lots of light white bubbles, so things were starting to look up.
*** Hubble bubble ***
The bubbles lasted a good while in the water without disappearing, but these didn't feel as soft or creamy as other bubble baths I have used and, after my bath, my skin didn't feel any softer than if I hadn't bothered with bubble bath at all. The product claims to be "rich and luxurious" which I think is something of an exaggeration! One good thing is that the strawberry smell did linger subtly, and quite pleasantly, on the skin after my bath.
*** Sorbet summary ***
Overall I was completely underwhelmed with this product. It is anything but luxurious from the packaging to the bubbles! I won't be buying this one again, and I have no inclination to try out others in the range either! In my opinion, there are much better bubble bath products on the market.
*** Other info ... ***
The bubble bath is available in several different varieties from Avon, including Lavender, Wild Lily and Winter Rose, and is currently £5 for a litre on the Avon website (although I definitely did not pay this much). There is currently an offer to get another bubble bath and a room and linen spray free if you buy one bottle.
I love nothing more (ok my boyfriend!) than a nice, peaceful, relaxing bubble bath. Its my me time and I do get through a lot of bath foams and that type of product. Recently I spotted that Avon sell rather a few and when they were recently on offer I purchased a few bottles to try out and had high hopes for them offering good value for money and nice scents.
This can either be purchased in a 500ml or 1 litre size and the bubble bath comes in a long and slightly frosted but still see-through oblong and rippled sort of bottle with a white twist on/off cap/lid to the top of it. On the front of the bottle I am told that it is Avon Strawberry Sorbet Bubble Bath, there is a picture depicted of a couple of strawberries on there and the size is stated. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being given a list of the ingredients used along with contact details for Avon and information is given in foreign languages too. Because of the ripples to the body of the bottle that this has it is easy to handle and of course the bottle is informative as it needs to be.
The Bubble Bath Itself:
To use this you don't need very much of the dark red berry coloured transparent gel like liquid at all. It blobs into the bath rather than pours out and disperses with ease making the bath water a very light pink sort of colour with plenty of white bubbles to the surface of it.
This smells of really nice and slightly zesty sort of smelling strawberries. It's sweet enough but not sickly and whilst I wouldn't say this is the most natural smelling strawberry fragrance I have ever smelt I couldn't say its the most faked either and it really is rather pleasant in its fragrance.
This makes the water soft enough, the bubbles stay on the water for a good hour or so, it rinses off the skin and out of the bath with incredible ease and leaves my skin feeling soft enough (though not greasy or anything like that) and smelling nicely fragranced for a good couple of hours.
All in all I like this bath foam well enough. It isn't amazingly luxurious or anything like that if I'm honest but it does the job, relaxes the senses enough and leaves me fresh and fragrant enough! Not bad and it does offer value for money because you really don't need a lot of it to get a nice bath out of it!
Only available from Avon costing (usually) £4.00 for a 500ml size and £5.00 for the 1 litre (unless on offer, which they are at the time of me writing this review and they cost at the moment £2.00 for the 50ml size and £2.50 for the 1 litre size!
