      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Will continue to use it so long as I can afford to

I appreciate a decent shower gel and I have used many of them in my time. One of the nicest (and possibly one of the most expensive) ones I have ever used is the Biotherm Biosenses Shower gel which costs £16.50 for a mere 200ml. The tube looks classic male in my opinion and does not look like a womanly or girly shower gel at all though I know my other half uses this.

It really doesn't require you to use very much of this shower gel in order to create an excellent lather which I like to use all over my body - even my head and face. It is really very gentle on my skin and I like this as I really do suffer a lot from dry and sensitive skin. It is easily dispensed by means of its flip top lid and it rests on its head so all the contents fall to the bottom and make it much easier to get out.

It foams to a superb lather and it makes my skin feel like it is smooth and all over refreshed. It is a very luxurious shower gel in my opinion but possibly too expensive for every day use, which is a bit of a shame.

I love the smell of this shower gel as it is not too womanly or girlie. In my opinion it is rather a woody musky perfume and not too strong. However, having said that it does linger on my body after I have used it for some time afterwards and my wife always says how much she likes it whenever I use this stuff.

It will last me a long time because as I say I really don't have to use very much at all to get a decent lather and what's more, it rinses off very well afterwards and does not feel greasy or at all slimy on my body.

      Really recommended.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Good shower gel

Biotherm products are great for those who have sensitive skin. The packaging has a clinical feel to it, a deep blue colour and white lettering with the wavy blue line across the middle. The top which also acts as the bottom if that makes sense is a white plastic flip lid.

I do like to use this shower gel and tend to keep it in my gym bag for use after a work out, it is very kind to my skin and leaves it feeling refreshed and nice and clean. It generates a lot of lather as I massage it into my skin and this means that you do not need to use a lot at any one time, a simple dollop into my hand is enough to cover pretty much all of my body. The gel is packed with essential oils which are kind to your skin and once lathered up it has a rich creamy feel to it and is very smooth as it glides over my skin.

It has a rather musky, woody fragrance to it, quite powerful but without being over powering and while I can smell it quite a bit as I wash it does not linger overly long on my skin after use. There is a nice cleansing quality to the shower gel and I know by the way my skin feels after use that I'm using a quality product.

The 200ml bottle that I have cost £16.50 so it is not a cheap product and for me this is the main drawback, it can be bought in a larger 400ml size however the pump action dispenser is not so gym bag friendly so I tend to buy the smaller version even if the price on the bigger version would mean better value.

It is very gentle on skin and that is why it is recommended for those with sensitive skin however it is just as effective on normal skin types as well.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A delightful, if very expensive, shower gel.

Having discovered that the Biotherm brand suits my highly sensitive skin, I bought several items recently and received this shower gel as a free gift. I was not convinced that it could help my skin, especially as I could feel an outbreak of eczema beginning to emerge, but as I had it I thought I might as well try it.

The gel lathers very nicely, the lather feels more luxurious than I had initially been expecting and seems to cling to my skin as I'm washing. I use a large sponge whilst showering and need only a small amount of the shower gel, thereby ensuring that the bottle lasts for as long as possible - I always make sure my sponge is very wet prior to using the gel and this helps it to lather up.

I feel the shower gel is slightly greasy in texture, one assumes this is because there are several different essential oils in the ingredients list. It does not feel oily on my skin, but I should say there is a greasy sensation as I begin washing with it - this lasts until the lather thickens and it is only then that the body wash becomes creamy enough to remove the feeling of oil. The scent I find to be a little overpowering; it is a rather natural 'woody' scent and although pleasant I think it could be toned down somewhat for those of us who prefer more subtle smelling shower products.

After showering my skin feels marginally softer but much, much cleaner. The gel, although not an exfoliator, seems to cleanse my skin deeply despite the fact that the sponge I use is a rather soft one. I have suffered absolutely no irritation since I began using this body wash and surprisingly do not feel itchy in the slightest - I say surprisingly as perfumed body washes tend to make me itch a little after drying but this one leaves my skin feeling healthier than it has done in years.

My one and only complaint relates to the packaging of the shower gel; it is supplied in a fairly rigid plastic bottle (not a more sensible tube, as shown by Dooyoo) and dispensed via a pump action top.  This is not ideal as I do not have a flat surface in my shower, other than the floor, so find myself needing three hands as I juggle the bottle and sponge whilst trying to push down on the pump.  This sometimes means I drop some of the gel, and hating waste as I do this is rather more serious than it sounds! I think a standard squeeze bottle would be beneficial to this product as surely with the experience Biotherm have they would realise this type of dispensing method is wholly unsuitable for a shower product.

Would I buy it again? This was the question my daughter asked me this morning when I mentioned I was reviewing this product. I am undecided in all honesty as while it is a fantastic product, I feel the price of £31 for a 450ml bottle is extremely excessive. I admit a bottle this size will last for quite a long time and it is undoubtedly good for my skin, but as I live alone a £2.79 bottle of Dove shower cream will also last for a long time and is almost as kind as this Biotherm Shower Gel. I do not think I can justify this expense so unless some kind soul sends some to Father Christmas, or I receive it as another free gift, I doubt I shall come across it again.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Wakes me up but not worth the money

        WHAT IS IT?

        An invigorating shower gel.

        IS IT ANY GOOD?

This is a very good shower gel and leaves my skin perfectly clean, it has a refreshing citrus smell which is surprisingly effective at making me feel more awake in the morning. You only need a small amount to wash with and the thick consistency of the gel helps you to be economical with it, the gel lathers up thickly and creamily and this makes it feel much more luxurious than even the nicest standard gel from Boots.

The smell is truly invigorating and the gel itself is cooling and refreshing in the shower. It rinses off quickly after you've finished washing and after drying my skin always feels soft, clean and smooth with a beautiful perfume that lasts for hours.

I've noticed a small toning effect after using this shower gel, it's the type of product that causes a slight tightening of the skin which helps me feel more toned, especially around my tummy area.  This effect isn't enough to make the shower gel good value for money though and with a price of £17 for 200mls it's an expensive way of waking yourself up in the morning.

Even though I've praised this shower gel the better alternative in my opinion is one of the minty Original Source shower gels which are much more wallet friendly and just as effective at cleaning your skin as well as having an invigorating and pleasant scent.

        4 Dooyoo Stars.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Even Radox will struggle to match up with this one.

Although I do own a number of Biotherm products, I bought this very refreshing shower gel online purely for a change. To me, a lot of supermarket shower gels are the same, other than the fragrance they generally leave you unsatisfied but clean. With the Biotherm Biosenses Body Refreshing Shower Gel I certainly have much more get up and go! I have always been a big fan of Radox products - especially their invigorating bath products. I only use the Biotherm Biosenses gel on a morning before work, as it wakes me up and is really refreshing. I love the cooling scent, although it isn't too overpowering or offputting.

The gel comes in a 200ml tube - similar to the container face wash comes in. The tube is clear plastic with white text stating the product name and key details. As the gel itself is a very vibrant blue this makes the text on the tube stand out. I paid around £18 online for this shower gel, although if you shop around you will probably be able to find some good deals now and then. I only need to use a small amount of the shower gel to deliver an adequate quantity of bubbles over my body, and the result is typical Biotherm - a thick, rich lather.

The refreshing shower gel is enriched with essential orange and grapefruit oils, and is packed with key minerals to leave skin feeling soft and silky to the touch. After showering with this product in a morning, other than making me feel refreshed it also leaves a delicate scent on my skin. The shower gel isn't aimed at any particular skin type, but gives more of a general benefit to your skin. The good it does to my skin is really a bonus, as the invigorating workout it gives my body in the morning is the main reason for using it.

I do like Radox shower gels, but i find that the Biotherm Biosenses shower gel just has the edge. Price wise I have to say the Radox range of shower gels are probably a wiser buy, so again another Biotherm loses a star for price.
