A light lemon soap for your skin!
Member Name: katykicker
Advantages: Smells lightly of lemons, good price, leaves my skin clean, soft and smooth.
Disadvantages: Not the strongest fragrance.
A few weeks back my husband and I enjoyed a nice holiday. We stopped off at Lush at Liverpool Street train station on the way home and picked up numerous items. My husband spotted the 'Uplifted' gift set which had numerous items in including this 'Bohemian' soap from Lush. A 100g bar of this soap can be picked up in Lush stores and online for just £2.95 per 100g. This is great value for money for a delightful Lush soap but ours was slightly cheaper as it came within the gift set.
Lemon scents are something that I love and I didn't pay much attention when I saw this on the contents tag for the gift set, however, once on the last train home we opened it up and I was chuffed at just the smell of this product, before I even used it. This is a lemon scented soap and with a light smell to it. The smell it gives off is a lovely citrus one and it really does remind me of a fresh feeling and makes me feel confident that the soap is going to work well before I even use it in the shower. I will say that this is not an over powering lemon scent and I would like it if this soap had more of a scent.
This is quite a solid soap and is not really squash-able at all. I have found that this soap melts away at a slower rate than some of the other soaps that I have used but this could just be appearance and not actually correct. This bar is a pale yellow sort of colour and it has lots of little bits within the soap. This gives it quite an interesting look and it is simple to see that this is not just a standard bar of soap.
The ingredients for this soap are quite simple with the usual soap based ingredients as well as coconut oil, lemon oil, sesame oil and rapeseed oil. When this bar is used it melts and leaves a wonderful light film across my skin. As this soap is lacking palm oil there is not a massive amount of lather, however, I do find that this cleans my skin wonderfully and leaves me feeling soft and smooth afterwards, also, my husband loves my skin and says it smells delicious after using this soap. When I smell my own skin I can only smell a light fragrance and that really is quite a plain soap based one rather than one that smells like lemons or coconut oil.
This soap is ideal for my dry skin that has some patchy eczema and works very well at leaving my skin feeling great. The quality of this soap is pretty good, as is the price, particularly for a Lush product. We received a chunk slightly larger than 100g (I weighed it at around 121g) and this has been used twice daily for around two weeks now and is only half gone, representing good value for money for the two of us, particularly as it is was slightly cheaper thanks to buying a gift set.
If you are looking for a soap that doesn't leave a heavy fragrance on your skin then this is the soap for you. It is gentle on skin, particularly dry skin, does not dry skin out and overall works very well as a soap. In all I am going to give this a 5/5 as it was everything that I was expecting and didn't leave me smelling too much like lemons!
Summary: A great lemon soap from Lush.
