Advantages: softens skin, looks pretty
Disadvantages: seeds - hundreds of flipping seeds! Smell goes once in water
The Bomb Butter Berry Bath Blaster (wow, that's a lot of B's!) is one I got in a set several months ago. I finally used it last night.
==What is it?==
A bath blaster is just another name for a bath bomb. This one contains cocoa butter, cranberry seeds, geranium oil, myrrh oil and castor seed oil amongst a few other things.
The official description is 'A fresh strawberry scented blaster with cocoa butter chips (in the top swirly bit) and cranberry seeds (in the pink bit). With Geranium & Myrrh essential oils.'
==Appearance==
I do think this is one of the prettier looking bath bombs that Bomb Cosmetics make. It is pink on the base and the top is swirled around, which makes it look like whipped cream or perhaps a whipped ice cream cone. As it does contain cranberry seeds (in my experience Bomb Cosmetics love these!), you can see little speckles in the pink base.
==Smell==
The smell of this is beautiful. It's very sweet and quite feminine. The main scents to me are strawberry and cranberry, but it's quite sugary. I think if you're a fan of the Soap and Glory range you would probably like the scent of this product as it's very similar to a lot of the scents they use in their products.
==My Experience of using it==
So I ran a bath and dropped the bath blaster in. As it hit the water, it quickly began to fizz and hundreds of cranberry seeds rose to the surface of the water. In total honesty all I could think was that they looked like lots of dead ants. It's not the first, or even the second or third time I've used a Bomb Cosmetics product filled with cranberry seeds and it begs the question, why? Why would anyone want to bathe with bits floating around them? I can't imagine having lots of seeds floating around would have any skin benefits and to me, they're not aesthetically pleasing either. All they do is stick to your skin, your hair, your bath, your towels and then when you rinse them away they block the plug hole. In the unlikely event that anyone from Bomb Cosmetics happens to be reading this - PLEASE stop using cranberry seeds in your products, I would be much more likely to buy them if you did!!
Phew, rant over! So, yes, lots of dead ants...sorry, cranberry seeds floating on the top of the water as this fizzed and also a very pale pink shade to the water. The rather disappointing thing for me, was that the beautiful scent, which had been quite strong when this was dry, disappeared. I couldn't smell it at all. The water did take on a slight oiliness, but it wasn't greasy or unpleasant.
When I got out of the bath, I was covered in cranberry seeds. Even now, 24 hours later, I am still finding the odd one in the bathroom. They really are a pain in the backside and cleaning them out of the bath can only be described as a nightmare.
After using this, I will admit that my skin did feel quite soft. I'd compare the feeling to that of having used a light body lotion, and as well as soft it also felt quite smooth to the touch.
==Price and Availability==
Mine came in a gift set but if bought individually one of the Butter Berry Bath Blaster will set you back £2.29. You can buy directly from Bomb Cosmetics at www.bombcosmetics.co.uk and the range is also often stocked by independent gift shops.
==Overall==
There is too much wrong with this product for me to recommend it. It's a shame because it looks so pretty and smells so beautiful, but as soon as you put it into the bath, it's awful - seeds everywhere and no scent. I think it goes without saying that I wouldn't buy this again.
Summary: Get rid of the seeds and it might be half decent!
