A massage bar from Bomb Cosmetics

One of the best products to ever come out of the whiffy shop that is Lush is the massage bars. They have to be one of my favourite things to buy and whenever something new comes out and I spot it you can guarantee I have bought it within the next few days. So, with my new found interest and growing affection for Bomb Cosmetics I was pleasantly surprised to find their own line of massage bars and as you have probably guessed already, I bought one to try it out.

Massage bars are a great product, they are designed to do exactly as they say they are going to do, whether that is relax you and take away the days stress or simply moisturise your skin to make it all soft supple and of course not forgetting that it could take two to use them which makes it even more exciting, especially if your loved one owes you one or two favours!

So, from Bomb Cosmetics I bought a massage bar called 'Butter me Baby' not only because I liked the name and the ingredients used but because it contains glitter to make it all sparkly and because I like things that sparkle I bought it. Massage bars from Bomb Cosmetics retail around £3.49 for a 65g bar, which means they are a little cheaper than Lush.

The 'Butter me Baby' massage bar is a blue shaped heart which does twinkle in the lights and upon the top of the massage bar is a bright pink flower which adds a nice decorative style to the bar. I like the fact this massage bar is a nice colour and is decorative as some of the previous bars I have used are simple and plain to look at and I find that if I like the colour of something I am more likely to want to use it.

When it comes to using a massage bar, there is no special directions on what you should or shouldn't to. To use your massage bar is really simple because you pretty much mimic the actions of using a bar of soap and as you rub it between your hands you will then see that the bar loosens some of the calming essential oils and butters (if you look at your hands they will appear slightly greasy) to enable you to massage much easier to allow your fingers glide over the skin.

One point I would make is that when you do use a massage bar, do ensure sure the person massaging you has warm hands when they begin to massage you, there is nothing worse than a cold handed masseuse to make the shivers set in. A warm massage with soft warm hands is definitely advisable.

After using the massage bar you may need to towel off any excess oils because as good as it is at disappearing totally into your skin I have always found there to be parts that have been missed and unless you want to leave any stains around your home, always double check that it has all been massaged into your skin or that you do towel yourself off afterwards for double checking.

Now I have to admit that although this massage bar does smell absolutely amazing and for anyone who is an avid fan of Cocoa butter like me than you will certainly enjoy the smell of this. As well as Coco Butter within this massage bar you will find Sweet Orange Peel Oil and Lemongrass oil which are used together to promote calmness and peace and to also soothes the mind, thereby relieving stress. Finally amongst a whole list of ingredients Castor Seed Oil which attracts moisture to the skin and then retains it there to give the skin an over all soft feeling.

There are also many other ingredients contained within this massage bar and they can be found at the Bomb Cosmetics homepage.

As for the smell, well it reminds me of Palmers Cocoa butter but with a citrus hint which becomes evident once it is released onto your hands and body when you begin to massage. I personally love the smell and it does linger on your body for a good few hours after using it and your skin does feel amazingly soft after being used and because there is a hint of glitter within the massage bar your skin will also sparkle at the same time. The glitter is removed easily once you have managed to shower.

To get a good use of this bar I would suggest massaging your own body (or should I say, get a loved one to massage it for you) for a minimum of 30 minutes and that is so you can ensure your entire body has been thoroughly massaged and has left you feeling suitable relaxed! After using this product I did find that my skin was left feeling really soft to the touch and at the same time it was totally moisturised and had a healthy glowing effect.

So do I recommend this product? Well you won't be surprised to learn that I would recommend this bar to anyone who is a fan of the Lush massage bars and anyone who is looking for a product with a difference. The massage bar does what it claims to do and is cheap in price for the length of time it seems to last, which in my case is a good few months and I use it a few times a week if I can get my own way.
