Without a doubt one of the better Bomb Cosmetics products

I have mentioned in previous reviews that I bought a couple of Bomb Cosmetics gift sets in the January sales. I've used quite a few of the bath bombs from the set, but not been overly impressed. Recently however, after an afternoon of washing down paintwork (snore), my back was killing me, and I fancied a nice relaxing soak. I decided to use one of my bath bombs and chose Crazy after dark, as it stood out against the rest of them, which were mainly pink. Crazy after dark is a 'a blend of mischievous essential oils' (mischievous oils? That's a new one), which will 'wash away your inhibitions, unleashing your hidden desires' according to manufacturers Bomb Cosmetics. I wasn't sure I had any hidden desires needing unleashed, but if a bath bomb could do all that, then I figure surely it was worth a try. The bomb contains neroli, pink pepper, camphour and coumarin. The smell when dry is lovely and smells very fruity with a luxurious floral undertone to it. I find the scent hard to describe as I can't pick out any individual fragrance or note, but it's very feminine and quite highly perfumed. The bath bomb looks very pretty and it's appearance is quite accurate to the pictures on the website. It is predominantly bright blue with a white patch, and a baby pink heart embedded into the top. It would look very presentable if given as a gift. When I dropped the bath bomb into the water, it turned it the most beautiful sea blue colour. It looked gorgeous, and reminded me of the pictures of sandy white beaches and clear blue waters that I see in holiday brochures, for places I could never afford to go! The problem I have had in the past with the Bomb Cosmetics bath bombs, is that the scent differs when in the water to how it does when dry. Thankfully this one retained its lovely scent, however the smell was slightly weaker once in the water. The water feels incredibly silky, but not oily or greasy at all. I found the bath very relaxing and I was almost reluctant to get out! The scent lasted right until the end of my bath which was a good thing, as I'm one of those people who like to soak for ages. Afterwards, I didn't notice any difference to my skin and unfortunately there was no trace of scent left behind either, which was a little bit disappointing, because it really did smell nice. I also didn't feel that any of my hidden desires were unleashed...again disappointing, but not particularly surprising, ha ha! One of these bath bombs costs £2.20 and can be bought from www.bombcosmetics.co.uk. I have noticed that lots of gift shops also stock Bomb Cosmetics and they can be found in Fenwick's too. Overall, I'd have to say this is probably the best Bomb Cosmetics product that I have used so far. It smells lovely, is very relaxing and the colour looks amazing in the bath! If you have to buy a Bomb Cosmetics product, I strongly suggest you buy this one. *review originally posted on Ciao under username pink_champagne

        A crazy Bath Blaster

Long days in the office, election looming and the thought of going home to a nice long hot bath are one of the things I look forward to the most. Spending an entire day on the phone, being at the computer and staring at a screen followed by dealing with residents and emails certainly tires you out when it feels like someone you do for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In my bathroom is a box of treats that at this time of the year for me are a god send and this time I decided to order items that I hadn't used before from both Lush and Bomb Cosmetics. The first item of choice this time was a Bath Blaster which is named Crazy After Dark; and to be honest I did choose it because going home from the office after a long hard day I often feel crazy, so it did seem rather appropriate. Now I do tend to pick most of the products that I use products because of their name or because of the ingredients which are included. Crazy after Dark is a Bath Blaster and like all previous products it is shaped like a tennis ball. This particular Bath Blaster is a lovely ice blue colour all over except in the middle there is what can be described best as being a white cloud pattern with a pink love heart in the middle making it easy to recognize on the website or any shop selling these products.. For reference I paid £1.99 for this 160g product which is much cheaper in price than previous items. SO what made Crazy after Dark so tempting to try? Well other than the apt name it contains quite a few wonderful ingredients which I am quite familiar with now, although notably with this Bath Blaster there list of ingredients is not as long. Firstly we have Cardamom oil which has a carminative property and when you are feeling weak and mentally exhausted, cardamom oil promotes a refreshing and uplifting effect. Following on from that is Chamomile Oil which has a calming effect on the mind and body whilst on the skin it is known to calm red, dry and irritated skin and soothe skin problems such as eczema and psoriasis. Added to both of those ingredients we have Citronellol and Geraniol which work together and they bring about the rather nice and soft floral rose smell which this Bath Blaster has. There are combinations of other ingredients for this product all of which can be found on the Bomb Cosmetics website. The instructions given on how to use this bath blaster are that you need to decide whether you want to use it all at once or chop it in half or quarters. My personal choice is to just chuck the whole lot into the bath because I am too lazy to mess about hacking it in half. So, which ever option you choose you will have plenty of fragrance and in some cases bubbles. So, once you have made your decision and your lovely hot bath is running, it is better to have at least a few inches of water in the bottom of the bath before you places the Bath Blaster into the bath because this stops the product sticking to the bottom of the bath and allows much freer movements when it fizzing away around the bath releasing the vapours from the essential oils. The fizzing occurs because most Bath Blaster contain Sodium Bicarbonate which act as a fizzing agent which gives bath bombs the energy to fizz around your bath. Bicarbonate soda is also used because it softens the water and if like me you live in a hard water this is really helpful because I find hard water dries out my skin. Once this Bath Blaster begins whizzing around the bath the smell which develops as it melts away is absolutely lovely and not as sharp as some of the previous products I have tried but definitely pleasant, so if you are someone who likes their products to not be so over-powering this is one you should definitely try. The smell from this Bath Blaster does spread throughout the whole house as the bath is running. The one thing to note is that with most Bath Bombs there are no bubbles, which I always find disappointing because I do love to have bubbles in my bath. Also, because this product contains essential oils as some of the main ingredients you will not find a greasy looking film floating on the top of the bath water. Once you have enjoyed your long soak and for me it has to be a long soak to totally enjoy the experience and expense of buying these product you will notice that once the water is emptied out there is also no hint or trace of the Bath Blaster left clinging to the bath as I have previously experienced. After my lovely Rose smelling bath, my skin not only felt soft to the touch and well moisturised, it also smelt lovely and this is one of the better Bath Blasters to use if you have sensitive skin or any skin problems. I have extremely sensitive skin and I am limited in which products I can use because I generally find that I am allergic to them and they irritate my skin, with Bomb Cosmetics I am yet to find an issue with any of the products that I have tried. As bathing for me is an absolute must, it is one of the best ways that I know of to relax and it is gives me some much needed me time to escape from the stresses of the real world and to really unwind. So would I recommend this product? I absolutely would without a shadow of a doubt. For those people who enjoy baths as much as I do to relax I feel you need a product which makes you feel relaxed and de-stressed and for me it is ensuring I have that right product and with Crazy after dark, not only do you feel relaxed and de-stressed but you also feel happy and smiley. If you are thinking of purchasing any of these products they are available online through their website which is www.bombcosmetics.co.uk and it is here that you will find a whole host of products. The Bath Blaster that I have reviewed retails once again at £1.99 and it weighs 160g and is a real good value for money product. Also on this website you can find a list of ingredients for each product listed, so if like me you suffer from sensitive skin you are able to check beforehand whether or not you are able to use a particular product. ** Extra Information ** Bomb Cosmetics also make a strong case for their ethical policy and go to great lengths to inform their customers that they do not test any of their products on animals, nor do they buy their supplies from companies who are known to test on animals and when it comes to packaging wherever possible they use materials which are easily recycled and that have been previously recycled. Again their policy can be found on their website.
