I have now almost emptied my bathroom of Lush and Bomb Cosmetics products and although I still have a few more left to use up I suddenly remembered I had bought a product just because it made me chuckle when I read its name. That product comes from the Bomb Cosmetics Fun at Bath time range and it is called 'Mint Choc Nips' and yes I can hear you all sniggering! For those people who haven't heard of Bomb Cosmetics, they were born as a cosmetic company in 1997 and are based in Bournemouth. Bomb Cosmetics pride themselves in using only natural ingredients within their products and they make them all by hand so that they can control the amount of manufacturing that takes place and constantly test the products at every single stage. Bomb Cosmetics also state that they do not test any of their products on animals and do not use ingredients that could have come through animal testing. So for the ethical people out there who are discouraged by animal testing, Bomb Cosmetics do not do that. If you would like more information about them, there is plenty to be read on their website. Mint Choc Nips is in fact a creamy shower gel which when stored at room temperature is actually a semi-solid rather than a liquid; it is only once it comes into contact with your hands that it slowly melts. However Mint Choc Nips is sold in a see through plastic tub with a pull on and off lid. Through the tub you can clearly see a bright mint green coloured product and around the tub is the label which clearly depicts what it is you have bought and what it is that it does. Mint Choc Nips you are told is a delicious chocolatey ice cream body wash. Inside the tub upon opening I was expecting to be blown away by a strong mint flavour only to find that actually the Shea Butter is quite strong and stands out the most and that there is only the slightest hint of mint whereas the description says "Spearmint accords blend perfectly with a creamy, velvety Cacao heart" and its product name is Mint Choc Nips I personally thought the description sounded really nice. However minty it might not be it still smells divine. I have already mentioned that one of the only reasons I bought this product at the time I did was purely because of its name but actually when it comes to using it as a body wash I did actually like the texture and feel. To use all you need to do is remove the lid and scoop out half a handful of the product, remember that it is a semi solid product and you will therefore not need as much as you think. Once the body wash is upon your palms all you simply need to do is rub it over all your body to mimic the actions you would usually use when using any other kind of body wash, shower gel or soap and as it is rubbed into your skin, you should notice that not only does it suddenly become quite creamy but it also lathers really well, hence why I said you will not need to use a lot of this product at any one time. As the lather comes into contact with the skin, it does give off some very powerful smells; predominantly the Shea Butter in my own opinion but there is a slight smell of other ingredients. Within Mint Choc Nips is a whole host of ingredients which have been chosen for specific purposes. As I have said there is Shea Butter which is rich in vitamins A and E and both are very good for the skin helping to keep it moisturised, soft and smooth. Frankincense Oil is a second ingredient which has quite a spicy smell to it but when used in a product such as this it is good for those people who have oily skin because it helps to balance the oiliness of the skin. The final ingredient is Camelina Sativa which is also known as Gold of pleasure oil which is rich in essential Omega-3 fatty acids and it is known for its ability to leave skin feeling soft and smooth and really well moisturised and this ingredient is likely to be found in lip balms, moisturising creams and body lotions to name a few. There is a whole host of other ingredients within this body wash but the three I have mentioned are the most important ones for me. I always feel that it is important to look into the ingredients within any product you buy, especially essential oils to see what effects they are supposed to have upon your skin when using them. As I have sensitive skin, I now know which ingredients can cause skin irritations and find it is much easier to buy products for myself now than it ever has been before. After showering and using Mint Choc Nips, my skin felt really soft to the touch and very smooth as well; as smelling really fresh and slightly minty with a Shea butter mix. I didn't feel the need to add any extra moisturising cream to my skin after showering and drying myself which is a rarity with some products of this nature, similar products although have left my skin feeling soft does not leave a long lasting softness and within an hour of showering my skin was in need of some moisturising cream, whereas with this product, the skin softness lasted all day, it was only in the evening that I applied my lotions and potions. So would I recommend this product? At £4.99 for 300ml I absolutely would, it is great value for money and the pot has lasted me just over 5 months and I use it 2 or 3 times a week depending on my mood. So if you enjoy long hot showers and want to try a product which is a little different to the norm, then I would recommend giving this a try. If you are thinking of purchasing any of these products they are available online through their website which is www.bombcosmetics.co.uk and it is here that you will find a whole host of products.
