If you love Lush, then you'll love Bomb Cosmetics. Like Lush, Bomb Cosmetics also produce handmade goodies, most famously for bath time and their products come in all shapes and sizes. I have used Bomb Cosmetics before, however I don't often see them stocked anywhere. During Amazon's recent Black Friday lightning sales I came away with not one, but two Bomb Cosmetics sets packed with lovely bath time treats, and at a cheap price. The sets were carefully wrapped and nicely presented, but these gift sets were a gift to myself, and I almost guiltily tore off the paper to get the gorgeous bath bombs inside.
This particular bath bomb is called Sweet Surrender Bath Blaster. It's very pink, smells of sweet raspberries, and even has a butterfly on the top to make it even more sickeningly girly and pretty. The strong sweet smell of raspberries hits you before you even pop this one into your bath, and I was very much looking forward to my sweet smelling bath. The butterfly is resting on a cocoa and shea butter swirl, and the main part of this bath bomb is the raspberry ripple base. The butters in this bath blaster will moisturise and nourish your skin, whilst the Neroli Oil will restore and uplift.
During the recent snow storms here in this currently freezing part of England, I decided a nice relaxing bath was needed after getting in from work and the cold deep snow. I choose this light, pink, sweet bath bomb to help me relax and warm up and after running a nice hot bath I looked forward to using this bath blaster.
The pink base of is freckled with dark pink bits, and I didn't find out until I put this in my bath just what those are. As soon as I plopped this into the water and it began fizzing away, hundreds of tiny dark red seeds began flooding my bath! The cute butterfly broke off from the main part and the orange wings floated around the bath not wanting to dissolve, and the buttery swirl formed a creamy white foam on the surface of the bath. The bath blaster realised it's comforting scent, which once dispersed in the water wasn't as sickly sweet as I first thought, and it did make for a relaxing bath, but back to those seeds. I've never come across anything like them in a bath bomb before and so I give Bomb Cosmetics a point for originality, however they seemed to disperse to the sides of my bath and stick against the side. Many of them sank and lay on the bottom, although I couldn't feel them so I wasn't sitting uncomfortably on hundreds of seeds! Towards the end of my bath a lot of the seeds seemed to just be stuck on the bath tub, and thankfully when I got out the bath I was pleased to see they weren't all stuck to my skin.
Whilst the scent of this bath blaster started out strong, it did fade rather quickly which was a disappointment. The butter swirl did it's job though and my skin was nice and soft after my bath, and I rarely find this to be the case when I use bath bombs. The raspberry scent didn't linger on my skin, but the occasional seed did and I did find a couple in my hair a few hours later. Despite this it did make for a relaxing bath and I found this bath blaster to be sweetly enjoyable.
You can buy this bath blaster at www.bombcosmetics.co.uk for only £2.19, and it also features in gift sets. You can also buy Bomb Cosmetics from various stockists, more information can be found on the above website.
Summary: A fantastic smelling bath bomb.
