      A pricey little ball.

Bomb Cosmetics - Mistletoe Kisses - We Three Kings Bath Creamer

This was a special Christmas gift box produced by this company for the festive season. I treated myself to this using some Amazon vouchers when the box was reduced early in the year. I read some reviews about the products enclosed and thought that I'd give them a try. I bought two boxes, one for a gift and at this bargain price of 4.80 a box I bought the other for myself.

Bomb Cosmetics is a company that sells on the internet, through Amazon and also in shops such as Past Times on the high street. I first came across them as I was given a couple of sets by my children for my birthday. I believe I have written reviews on two of the sets and although both were very nice I think from choice I would go back to Lush as their stuff has a stronger aroma and also I can really feel the benefits of their bath products which I struggle to really enjoy with Bomb Cosmetics products.

The presentation of the products, like Lush is very different. One set I received had three cup cakes, another was bath creamers and bombs as small balls and the third had a variety of items form soap through to a rose bath oil which I did like with tiny rose buds floating around in the oil.

This gift set is no different. It came beautifully gift wrapped in a white with olive green leaves thick wrapping paper and tied around the parcel was a Bomb Cosmetics red ribbon with the gift tag attached. Once I had unwrapped the paper I found a cardboard box sealed with sticky tape which I had to cut through. On opening the box I was hit by a lovely fresh smell of bath goodies which were buried in curling wood shavings. It was a bit like a lucky dip hunting out the various goodies hidden within but I will review each item individually and give you my person al verdict on each.

The first one I tried was the 'We Three Kings Bath Creamer. This is quite a small ping pong ball sized item which is white with a chocolate drop on top and a holly decoration. It weighs just an ounce so you can see it is a tiny ball and there is no chance of getting more than one bath from this one. According to the gift tag this little gem 'introduces the precious oils of ylang ylang and geranium along with a scent reminiscent of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh!'

I realize that a bath creamer is not a fizzy bomb so I watched with interest what would happen when I popped this into my bath as it filled. The creamer really just melted slowly leaving a white sort of mild froth on the top of the water. Not very exciting to watch I thought but what about this festive smell? Well, I have to say I was distinctly underwhelmed with any scent and certainly the somewhat heady deep aromas of Frankincense and myrrh were extremely well hidden in my view. There was very little aroma at all while the creamer was melting and the bath filling and there was even less in evidence when I got in the water and certainly none at all on me when I got out. The smell was very disappointing indeed.

Okay the smell was lacking but what was the benefit of these lovely creamy oils in the bath? The bath felt soft and the shea butter did make my skin nice and moist but at the price this was originally I wanted a bit more really.

Interestingly enough this company also makes claims about only using natural ingredients and not testing on animals but I did notice that this little ball contains some interesting ingredients such as polysorbate60, benzyl benzoate and some numbers which I presume are colours like Cl47005. All of these are 'acceptable' for use is toiletries but can cause allergies or skin rashes so people who are allergic to items in toiletries will still have to be aware that even these 'natural' products do contain a few chemicals.

      Ingredients:
Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Sucrose, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Extract, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Fruit Butter, Parfum (Fragrance), Glucose, Aqua (Water), Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Soy Lethicin, Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium) Flower Oil, Cananga Odorata (Ylang Ylang) Flower Oil, Xanthan Gum, Astragalus Gummifer (Tragancanth) Gum, Vanilla Planifolia (Vanilla) Seed Extract, Albumen, Solanum Tuberosum Starch, Potato Starch Modified, Propylene Glycol Algenate, Cyamopsis Tatragonoloba (Guar) Gum, Polysorbate 60, Glycerin, Benzyl Benzoate, Citronellol, Coumarin, Hexyl Cinnamal, Isoeugenol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Limonene, Linalool, CI 47005, CI 73015 (Blue 2), CI 16255.

Though this product is vegetarian friendly it does state that it is not suitable for vegans because there are traces of egg in the sugar decoration.

Bomb Cosmetics are environment friendly with all their packaging being recyclable and indeed none of their products are tested on animals.

Would I recommend? Well, I think you probably have already guessed if you have read the review. I certainly would have been very miffed if I had paid full whack for this one as it was very disappointing and if this is the best that Bomb Cosmetics can do then Lush have no worries about their competition. All I can say is that I am so glad that I didn't give this to someone as a gift as it was a very poor effort. The scent was almost nonexistent and the creaminess of the bath I could get quite easily by adding a bit of baby oil to the bath. And the effect was not that great. I still put body lotion on after I had my bath so I would not even recommend it for its moisturizing qualities either.

I am not sure if this little creamer is sold separately at Christmas but as the price of the creamers on the Bomb Cosmetics website vary from 1.50 to around 3.00 I think they are expensive for what you get. It is a pretty average bath experience in my view. This gift pack is no longer available but their products can be purchased through Amazon or directly through their website www.bombcosmetic.co.uk . I would suggest that Amazon is preferable as you get free postage if you order enough and there is no price difference for the actual products though the selection on Amazon is more limited.

A cute little bath creamer from Bomb Cosmetics - Thank you Dooyoo :o)

I was very lucky that I was one of the '10 Days of Christmas' winners; where one of my gifts was a selection box from Bath Bomb Cosmetics (one of my favourite online shops I might add). So you can guess there shall be a few reviews regarding my set of bath bombs and soaps.

Bomb Cosmetics - We Three Kings Bath Creamer 30g:

'This Christmas Bath Creamer introduces the precious oils of Geranium and Ylang Ylang to your bath, along with a fragrance reminiscent of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh'.

I have tried many items from Bomb Cosmetics but I was yet to try anything from the Christmas range, so it was nice to have a change and try something new.

        My Findings:

First of all I was thinking that this little ball was way too small to fill out in the bath, and that the smell was really strong when just smelling the creamer alone. Not one to shy away from trying new things as I was running my bath I popped the creamer into the water while the bath was filling up.

I could see the red and brown colours coming away first then it started fizzing a little when it came to the whiter part of the creamer; though it did take awhile for this one to fully disintegrate into the water. Once it had all dissolved taking around ten to fifteen minutes the colour of the water was a little off putting. The bath water looked a bit on the dirty side, off white kind of murky one thing I noticed was that it had little golden stars within the water which was a nice touch for the festive season.

Despite the bath water looking on the murky side the aromas within the bathroom was rich, warming and very festive. For me I could smell Ylang, lavender and spicy cinnamon which all combined lovely making me feel very Christmassy! At first when putting the creamer into the water It didn't give much of an aroma off, but as it melted within the water the smell got stronger but not over-powering.

I was worried that this was on the small side for my bath but despite its small size it really powered up well; the water felt very soft and velvet like, and smelt wonderful it was just a shame about the colour (we can't have everything though!)

While laying in my bath you could see the oil's within the creamer glisten across the water and when rubbing my skin it felt super soft and did so all day long; this would be perfect for anyone who suffers with dry skin. I do have mild eczema but this didn't irritate it all and made the rougher patch at the back of my knee feel really soft so I was very happy about that.

Though the bath and bathroom had developed a sweet festive aroma it didn't really transfer on to my skin which was a little disappointing. It smelt lovely while relaxing in the bath but once I came out and dried off the scent went away.

        How to use:

Nice and simple just drop your creamer into warm water and once it has melted lay back and relax in your bath. It's recommended that you rub your skin well to get the full effect of the creamers properties whilst in the bath.

        Price and Availability:

This creamer can be purchased from the Bomb Cosmetics web site for £1.99 which for this tiny creamer is a little pricey but the results on your skin are very much worth it.

It can also be purchased as part of a gift set which is how I received mine, the gift set is called Mistletoe Kisses for £11.99 and contains -

        Santa Baby Bath Blaster 160g
        Chilly Willy Bath Blaster 160g
Ho Ho Holly Bath Blaster 160g
Snow Time Like the Present Soap 100g

Which as I have found out makes a wonderful gift for all bath lovers out there, and can also be purchased from other online stores such as Amazon.

Right now this can be purchased for a bargain price of £4.80 for the gift set from Amazon!

Orders over £25.00 are free delivery.

        Overall:

I'm really happy I gave this a try and it will be on my gift list for Christmas 2011. It's small but powerful, gave me wonderful results on my skin which lasted until I had a bath the following night. Does leave your bath a little murky but a quick rinse soon clears the bath out.

It's only available during the festive period so stock up if you're a fan, it easily accessible during this time.

Four out of five stars from me.

        Thanks for reading :o)
