“ Brand: Boots Botanics / Type: Body Wash / Suitable for: Body / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types „
This body wash was part of a gift set I picked up in the Boots January sales. The set I purchased contained the body butter, this body wash, and body polish. At full price, the body wash costs £3.99 for a 200ml tube.
The body wash comes in a flip top lid tube, which is gravity friendly by allowing the product to sink to the bottom. The only issue I have with this is that sometimes a little bit of the product can escape if you're not quick about closing the lid, I think this is because the gel is quite runny in consistency. Aesthetically, the bottle isn't much to write home about, being fairly dull looking with purple flowers on the front. The label obscures most of the bottle, but is transparent at the top and bottom so you can see when you're about to run out.
The fragrance is very sweet and uplifting, I can't really pinpoint the fragrance other than to say it smells like sherbet or sweets to me. It doesn't linger on the skin after use, although it does make the bathroom smell pleasant after showering. I can't say I felt rebalanced or calmed after using this, despite the claims of the "reviving vetiver" which apparently is an essence used to promote calm and tranquillity.
The consistency of this body wash is a bit disappointing to be honest, as it's a lot thinner than I expected. It's very runny, and because of this I find it easy to overuse it by accidentally squeezing too much out at once. It doesn't lather particularly well, although it does feel a little more moisturising than a lot of gels. It washes off easily, but I felt a bit wasteful because each time I used it I ended up using more than I intended because of the design of the tube.
I haven't really noticed any difference in the moisture levels of my skin after using this wash, although I do use separate moisturising products after showering. I have to say, apart from the lovely smell of this body wash, I was disappointed with the fragrance dissipating so quickly, and the fact it feels too thin and runny to be a luxurious or premium product as suggested by the price. Although it would be nice to receive as part of a gift set, I can't really recommend this to be used as a regular shower gel.
