Advantages: Gorgeous long-lasting scent and good price
Disadvantages: Product can get stuck in the handle
I'm a recent convert to all things coconut, so when I used some shower cream at my Mum's - Boots Coconut and Almond Shower Cream - I was hooked. Part of the Ingredients range that has simple fragranced shower creams and handwashes, the coconut and almond is, for me, the nicest.
The product comes in a 250ml clear bottle with a hook on the top so it can hang from an available hook in your shower and a cap that opens easily with the thumb, even when wet. It's nice to be able to see how much you have left, instead of holding it up to the light and trying to see through the tube as you have to with some shower gels. The only downside is that sometimes the product gets stuck in the hook handle as it is hollow, so in order to get the full amount of cream out you have to rest the bottle on it's back. Which can be a little fiddly. The picture on the front is a close up of a coconut balancing on an almond - exactly what it is fragrance with.
The smell, then, is what initially attracted me to it and it is surprisingly sweet and delicate. It smells like coconut cake. The almond gives a lift to the coconut which would otherwise be quite one-dimensional, I feel. I find this shower cream works best with a body puff; squirt a little onto the puff or your hand and lather it all over your body. It creates a generous amount of sweet, nutty foam that fills the bathroom with scent.
On the bottle it promises to be moisturising and hydrating. And it does - to a point. I know I have dry skin so I was expecting it to work a little more than it did. It did leave my skin nice and soft, but not as moisturised so I had to apply a body lotion afterwards. The fragrance lingered nicely and, as my skin warmed it, kept wrapping me in nutty niceness for quite a while. It has one of those scents that, being food-based rather than floral based, could be used by either men or women too.
A bottle lasts quite a long time, so this is definitely a good purchase. I'm onto my third bottle now and get myself one on the Boots points. However, there are usually buy 2 for £2 offers - so it is a great bathroom addition.
Summary: I would (and do) buy this product over and over
