Boots Expert Cream Bath
Advantages: Mild to skin
Disadvantages: Doesnt give many bubbles, no fragrance
Always keen to try new bath products my most recent purchase was from the Boots Expert range and was the Sensitive Gentle Cream Bath. The product is designed for sensitive skin and is a cream bath containing aloe vera to gently cleanse and soften skin.
The cream bath is hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and dermatologically tested.
It comes in a slightly opaque white plastic bottle with a screw top lid and holds 300ml. The packaging is quite simple and basic. Instructions are simply to pour under running warm water and to avoid contact with the eyes. The bath cream costs £1.46.
Firstly I don't like the design of the bottle, it really doesn't pour well and the top of the bottle gets incredibly sticky with the bath cream and I have to keep wiping it. The cream bath is a white colour and is of moderate consistency. It is of course fragrance free so you don't get a lovely smell whilst your bath is running. This is a bit disappointing as I hadn't realised it was fragrance free when I bought it. It does give a fair amount of bubbles but not as much as I like and certainly less than using Radox bubble bath or even Tesco own brand bubble bath. Perhaps this is due to the product being a bath cream rather than a bath foam.
The cream bath leaves my skin feeling clean but doesn't make it feel any softer. I didn't really feel that there were any moisturising properties in this bath cream. I do suffer from occasional eczema but nothing too bad and fragranced bubble bath doesn't irritate my skin so perhaps this is not the best product for me. It might benefit those who do have very sensitive skin but it does contain lots of chemicals which might not be good for many people. I was slightly disappointed to see that the Aloe Vera didn't feature until right at the bottom of the ingredient list therefore it is a very small ingredient and probably in too small an amount to make any difference.
For me I found this product a bit disappointing as I like a nice deep bubble bath with a lovely smell to help me relax. I wouldn't buy this again because it is fragrance free and it doesn't give as many bubbles as I like. Sorry Boots you might be an expert but I don't like it!
Summary: A bath foam that is kind to skin but doesnt give many bubbles, a bit disappointing.
