I am a fan of Boots Natural products and have used many of them over the years. I had this as part of a gift set which included this body scrub, a body gel and moisturiser. I am not sure how much it was as it was a gift but I have had a look online and a gift set similar to this is around £6 or to buy it on its own it is around £2.50 so it is affordable.
This Mango and Papaya body scrub is 75ml size and comes in a clear tube so you can see how much is left in the tube. The tube gives you the ingredients on the back and instructions for use. This scrub contains essential oils and it smells fresh and fruity and as I am applying it the smell comes out even more and it stays on my skin for some time afterwards even though it is washed off. I think that this is due to the exfoliation part as the little bits seem to go a bit deeper into your skin.
I would describe the scrub as quite a rich cream with lots of little grains all the way through it, and to use I will step under the shower to make sure my skin is wet and then squeeze some cream out onto my sponge or spa glove and then rub into my skin using small circular motions. It does lather up as I am using it so it spreads easily on my skin and I can feel the grains rubbing away at the surface of my skin but it is not unpleasant at all. When I am happy that I have rubbed it into the required areas I will stand back under the shower and rinse it off.
When I have finished my skin does feel very fresh and clean. I will always apply a nice body moisturiser afterwards and it does seem to soak in well and leaves me with lovely soft feeling skin.. By exfoliating on a regular basis I know I am getting rid of any dead skin cells and helping to improve my circulation and I am always glad when I have done it even though I do put it off sometimes as it does take longer than a normal shower.
I think that this is an effective exfoliating scrub which lathers up well, smells lovely and it does make my skin feel clean and nourished. I use this along with other Boots natural products and think it is a good quality product which anyone can use and I do recommend it.
I have bought a few items in this range and quite liked them, so when I spotted this body scrub in Boots I decided I would buy it and give it a go. I am not loyal to one brand and I do like to use different products to buy just for a change to see it I like them or not.
The scrub comes in a tube with a flip lid. It is an orange colour and a kind of gel, it has tiny grains like small grains of sugar in the gel. Once the lid is opened the smell is really nice, smells of the Mango and quite a citrus fragrance and fruity. It is a really nice refreshing smell too and one I like quite a lot. Smells really nice while using it. The fragrance is uplifting and a lovely fragrance in my opinion.
It is quite a runny consistency and not very thick, so it is wise to just gently squeeze the tube and the scrub onto a sponge or directly onto the hands. I use a sponge or one of those body puffs because I prefer to use either of those when showering, I find they work better for rubbing this kind of product onto the skin.
Once on the sponge, just glide it gently all over the body, I do find I have to add a little more to the sponge, maybe 3 times because I find with this one, one application doesn't really give the full coverage like some other brands. A little doesn't go as far as some other products. But it isn't really a huge problem having to use some more on the body. Considering it is a cheaper product I didn't really expect one application would do the job in one go. It lathers a little but nothing special.
It does feel really nice on my skin and glides it across nicely, it exfoliates fairly well and removes the dead skin cell but it doesn't exfoliate as good as I like a product to work on my skin. The grains don't feel too harsh on the skin like I first thought they would being such a cheap body scrub but I did find they don't scratch my skin, my skin didn't feel sore after using it. I did test a small area on my legs though before using it on the rest of my body because I have sensitive skin and this is what I normally do when I first use a product of this kind. After the test my skin was fine and so I continued to use it. So if you too have sensitive skin it may be wise to test it on a small area first too, just to be safe.
It is easy to rinse from the body but it does take a little longer to rinse than some other cheaper brands, so if you are in a hurry bear this in mind because it will take just a while longer to rinse it from the body.
It contains Mango and Papaya extracts which are natural ingredients, it claims to leave the skin smoother, softer and noticeably brighter. I found it does leave my skin feeling soft and smooth but certainly not brighter, but I did find my skin felt adequately smoother when I applied my body lotion or butter.
It costs just £3.25, so quite a cheap price for a body scrub, it is good value for money but I do think if I didn't have to use so much for a good body scrub it would be better value for money. I am happy with the quality of the scrub.
I am happy to recommend this one to anyone looking for a cheaper body scrub, the fragrance is very nice but bear in mind you do need to use just that little bit more of the scrub to give a good exfoliation on the skin.
I would buy this one again if I found I was wanting to save some money on buying a cheaper scrub, it hasn't irritated my skin at all or left any rashes on my sensitive skin. I just wished it was a little thicker and not such a runny consistency. I do think the price is good for this one and it is affordable for any budget in my opinion.
I am dropping a star just because of the consistency of the scrub and the amount I have to use for a good scrub for my body.
I give it 4 stars.
Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has been of some help.
Yet another product borrowed from the eldest daughter's bathroom cabinet. This morning, I tried the Mango and Papaya Body scrub from the Boots Natural Collection range.
It comes in a recyclable package and it advises that the scrub is not used on damaged or irritated skin. The product reminds us it is 'not a food' on the back. The pack is very attractively designed with a picture of tropical flora and papaya on it.
The product says it's a 'fruit shake for your senses' and promises a 'gentle scrub' which 'leaves your skin softer, smoother and noticeably brighter.' After a hot, sultry night during which I hardly got any sleep - this sounded precisely what I needed.
Using the product:
After using the Natural Collection body spray the other day I expected to be inundated with scent from this product. Not so. The product is quite softly fragranced and only smells really fruity when you get up close to it. The product is orange in colour and its consistency is hard to describe. Creamy is the wrong word. It is sort of creamy - with a hint of sliminess; an odd consistency - with the graininess of the scrub in evidence as you sweep it over your body.
Using it you get the soft scent of the product and the exfoliating effect of the grains. It is as promised, a gentle scrub. My slightly sensitive skin is not irritated and it does feel softer and smoother after using this product. My skin smells lightly fragranced by the product.
All in all it did a decent job. I don't think my skin actually looks any brighter - but at my age that is probably a tall order for any product. And it didn't really shake my senses - but again, after the night I had at least I feel better for a shower.
Price and Availability:
There are certainly better body scrubs on the market but at £3.25 for a 200ml tube (and it's often on offer or part of an offer) it represents fair value. Available from most Boots stores.
Being a woman of mature years I have unfortunately noticed that one of the many signs of aging is dry and slightly rough skin :( Not to be beaten though I have been using the Natural Collection Papaya and Mango lotion which I found really good then I saw that there is a matching body scrub too.
I only paid £1.50 for200ml in the reduced section Of our local Boots which was a bargain because it normally retails at around £3. The squeezy tube is bright and cheerful and it stands upright. It contains 200ml which is generous because I have found that a little goes a long way making it great value compared to most other leading brands.
Whilst massaging into my legs and arms I can feel that the product is working for me as I can feel the tiny particles/ granules working into the surface area. The effect is not harsh and, the first time I applied it I did not think it was actually any good, but after rinsing it off I was pleased with how much softer my skin felt. I now use this on a weekly basis and pamper myself by drying off my body and applying the matching body cream. I have found that when I apply self tan it looks much better as it is less streaky which has to be a bonus!
It is really easy to apply this bright orange scrub yet there is no problem in removing all trace. I have used scrubs in the past and have felt 'grainy' for a couple of days - not so after using this body scrub!
The smell is lovely - rich and tropical - and I can definitely smell the mango and papaya even when it rinsed off.
I would certainly recommend giving this product a try if you feel like scrubbing up your body as my results have been so good plus it is good value and smells delicious.
I love buying nice shower and bath creams and scrubs, a few months ago, when I was shopping in Boots, I came across the Mango and Papaya Body Scrub on the Natural Collection ranges. I decided to give it a go because it was cheap and also after having a little sniff in store, I fell in love with the scent.
This body scrub smells amazing, it has a lovely sweet mango and papaya, tropical scent to it and also smells quite clean and fresh. I wouldn't say that this is a mature scent, but for me it is just lovely.
You do not need a lot of this scrub to get good results. To use it you simply take some in your hands in the shower and massage it into your skin, then thoroughly rinse it off.
I love how my skin feels when I have used this scrub in the shower. It makes my skin lovely and soft and unlike other body scrubs, it isn't too harsh on it. I have quite sensitive skin and usually cannot use heavily perfumed products, but find that this scrub is fine to use.
This body scrub makes my skin feel really clean and the scent from it lingers on my skin for ages after using it.
Price and Availability
You can buy this body scrub for around £2.50 in Boots, it comes from a range with shower gels, bath creams, body sprays and lip balms, all in the same scent, so if you really enjoy this ones scent, you can buy different body products in it.
I think that £2.50 is a really decent price for this body scrub as it has lasted me about 15-20 showers, you do not need to use much each shower, as the scent is quite strong and it works really well.
I think that this is a great bargain body scrub, it smells lovely and leaves my skin feeling lovely and soft. Overall I would give this body scrub 4 out of 5 stars.

I was looking for a body scrub a while back but didn't want to pay too much money. I was looking for one in Boots and came across this one in their Natural Collection. I love very fruity smells on body and bath products and thought this one looked right up my street.
It costs £3.25 for 200ml which at the time I thought was fairly expensive but when I saw the costs of other body scrubs I realised that this was the cheapest. It is in a thick sturdy plastic bottle which is clear but due to the see through plastic you can see the product through the bottle. It looks very enticing as the actual scrub is a vibrant orangey/red colour which is very appealing.
There is a black plastic top on the bottle with a flip open lid which is easy to open and close. Once you've opened the product to use it you can instantly smell the body scrub inside. It smells so nice you want to eat it! You can really smell the fruit in it, I could definitely smell the mango and I could also distinguish another scent which I think was papaya although it smelt more like oranges to me!
The texture of the scrub is fairly thick. If you squeeze a blob into your hand it doesn't just pour through your fingers, it stays where you squeeze it. It feels nice to rub onto your skin and feels quite cold to the touch. When rubbing it on your skin I felt that there weren't very many grainy particles in it, i.e. what makes it a body scrub as opposed to a shower gel. I felt like I was using something more soothing than a scrub. I kind of wanted there to be more grainy bits in it in order to feel like I was doing some good to my skin. However, after using it I can definitely feel that my skin is smoother which is the intended outcome of using it. Maybe there doesn't need to be so many grainy bits in order to do a good job?
All in all, this product smells divine, looks exciting and does what it says on the tin, it scrubs your body and leaves smoother feeling skin underneath.
Whenever I received a gift that was toiletries or cosmetics in the past, I always used to save them for "best" or special occasions, but when we moved house in 2010, I realised that this was ridiculous as I had a mass of toiletries that I never used and I was buying products for everyday use, so I have been using up all of the nice presents that I have amassed and I have not had to buy shower gel for eighteen months now! I generally prefer to use just a straight shower gel but a few weeks back Boots Natural Collection Mango and Papaya Body Scrub came to the front of the queue in the cupboard so it was time to use it up and with an impending holiday, I decided that now was as good a time as any to brush up my skin.
Boots Natural Collection Mango and Papaya Body Scrub comes in a plastic tube that stands on its end on a black plastic flip top lid. I really like this straight off as the product is always where I need it to be and I don't have to spend precious minutes in the morning shaking a bottle for all I am worth to get it to dispense. As the packaging is clear, it is easy to see the vibrant orange colour of the product - it looks almost good enough to eat! An attractive picture of the tropical fruits in the ingredients completes the front of the product and on the back the directions for use, ingredients list and contact details are listed. Once opened this product is suitable for use for 24 months.
On opening the lid I am immediately met with a strong tropical scent - it is probably more papaya than mango and it smells simply divine in my opinion and not at all soapy or acrid. The consistency is gel like in appearance and hold but as it is quite watery also it comes out of the tube with ease - a bit too easily actually, and a great big squirt comes out if you are not careful. There are very small grains within the scrub of a substance that has an appearance of sugar - clear and granulated and this is the magic ingredient that does the scrubbing.
In use I have to say that I am not over enamoured with this product. I use it on a body puff (one of those net ball things) and it is extremely difficult to get up any sort of lather. I find that the granules are difficult to rinse off and they seem to cling to my skin for a long time and the feel of the overall product in use is somewhat "dry" and not at all luxurious to use as it simply doesn't seem to want to be lathered over my skin. I have persevered with this product in the hope that it might improve, but after each use I have had to use shower gel as well as I still feel dirty - this product actually makes me feel dirtier after using it which is ridiculous! I use it in the shower, but I could imagine that if it was used in the bath it would be even worse as you would just end up sitting on all of the granules.
Whilst my skin isn't tight after use, it does not feel moisturised or soft either and I really do not feel as though I have been "scrubbed" - there is no visible difference to my skin after two weeks use so I have given up on it. The aroma of the scrub is lovely whilst in use, it makes the bathroom smell and is quite revitalising and I like the fact that it clings to my skin for a few hours after use which is this products' saving grace but other than that, it doesn't rock my boat.
This product is only available from Boots stores and on boots.com currently (Jan 2012) priced at £3.17 for 200ml. I am glad that I didn't buy this product as I do not feel that it offers good value for money and there are plenty of other products on the market that will do a better job at a much lower price. Only two stars from me for this - one for the packaging and one for the scent.
Price and value for money
The Boots Natural Collection bathing range is full of great-smelling, appealing products - mostly just a couple of pounds each. I bought the Mango and Papaya Body Scrub recently as part of the 3 for 2 deal, making it even better value. The current price on Boots.com is £3.17.
The smell of this scrub is delicious. It is really fruity and a pleasure to use in the morning as it helps wake me up in the shower. I'm not sure I can identify mango and papaya, but it's a really nice smell whatever.
The scrub is quite gentle compared to other body scrubs I have used. On the one hand this makes it excellent for sensitive skin, but on the other hand it is not that effective for really scrubbing away dead skin cells or combatting ingrowing hairs. I find that some body scrubs are too abrasive and leave my skin quite sore, but this one is never does. One downside is that the scrub is quite runny and you need to use quite a lot.
I would recommend this body scrub to anyone who wants a gentle body scrub with a delicious fruity smell.
Because i wax and use an epilator, i often get ingrowing hairs. The only way to prevent these are by exfoiliating regularly. This means i have to exfoiliate two or three times a week and need a good strong body scrub. After trying the shower gel in this range, i picked this up for £2.99 from Boots . I dont know what papaya smells like so i cant comment on it, but i can definately smell the mango from this. Its really nice and citrusy smelling and always puts me in a good mood when i use it becasue it reminds me of summertime.
To start with i used a tiny amount but found that it wasnt tough enough so i ended up having to keep getting more from the tube for every area of my body. This became really time consuming as i can normally just squeeze a dollop onto my thigh and it does my whole leg etc. It seemed to be a bit too runny and so its hard to get a good scrub when you're in the shower. Afterwards my skin did feel smoother but slightly dry, althought to be fair it doesnt say that it has a mouisturising effect.
I think this would be better suited for people with sensetive skin as like i said its not harsh but is still effective. The smell is just gorgeous and when used in conjunction with the shower gel the smell does last faintly on your skin although not for a full day. There isnt actually anything wrong with this scrub, i just find that it isnt effective in giving my skin the deep scrub it need.
