“ Brand: Boots / Texture: Cream / Type: Bath Cream / Subcategory: Bath Cream / Oil / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types „
I have never been a huge bath fan or any sort of bath fan if I am honest but I had the (mis)fortune to move into a house with only a bath (well it has more fittings but only a bath for a full wash). As I previously had a shower this came to a shock and I forgot about bath creams and foams etc. so I recieved a lot of gifts of this nature with this being one. The strawberry bath cream from boots came as a pack of three with an orange gel and purple gel in a nice clear box.
This is part of the Boots Natural Collection which I do feel is a little bit of an exaggeration with the bright red, thick pearlescent nature and intense smell being nothing like eating strawberries or even looking at a strawberry. Natural products are usually less gloopy, pungent and do not necessarily glitter. Boots is a UK pharmacy chain originating in Nottingham and branching out to selling skincare, other health products and even opening opticians from 1968.
The bath cream came in a pack of three all sized 75ml with a shelf life of 12 months from opening. There was a plastic see through box with the Boots Naturals collection black branding but I threw this away in favour of storing the bottles on my bathroom shelf. The bottles are quite minature and cyclindrical with black screw top lids which are difficult to open with wet hands. The label is of the Natural Collection range with a natural looking strawberry.
I find the scent is very pungent and of a artificial nature matching that of medicines. It is sweet and very much strawberries but not the 'summer fresh' scent which is advertised. The consistency is gloopy and thick with a pearlescent sheen being almost bright red in colour.
It is difficult to open the bottle with wet hands which is daft as it is made to be used in the bath. I also found that despite providing a good white foam when rubbed in a flannel or on a scrunchie, the cream is hard to get out of the bottle meaning some is wasted when near to empty. The cylindrical bottle shape makes it very difficult to squeeze anywhere other than the middle. Due to this and the small bottle size, 5 washes is not very economical therefore I feel it would be a waste of money.
After washing I did feel clean but the scent did not last so I had to use body spray to make up for this. However, as a gift it does look nice and Boots are a trusted brand.
I got this Natural Collection Wild Strawberry Bath Cream as part of a gift set at Christmas. I don't normally buy from the Natural Collection range myself due to the price, and also because, as I have said before on reviews of products from this range, I do not believe there is anything 'natural' about them as they seem extremely coloured and perfumed.
This comes in a cylindrical shaped bottle with a black plastic lid. A juicy looking strawberry is on the front, which gives the impression that this is positively bursting with strawberries.
SMELL AND APPEARANCE
This bath cream is a vivid slightly pinkish red colour, and is pearlescent. It's fairly thick but true to its rather non-natural nature, there are no strawberry seeds in it like you might find with other strawberry bath or shower gels. The smell is very sweet and fruity and really does smell like strawberries. The packaging describes the smell as 'summer-fresh'.
USAGE AND AFTER
When using this, the smell filled the entire bathroom which I really liked. Sadly it did not linger on my skin afterward, but the bathroom did smell like strawberry for the rest of the evening! It created a large amount of soft white bubbles which was really lovely, and bathing in this felt very luxurious and soothing. While this is described as 'summer fresh', I don't think this could be limited purely for use in the summer months - it felt more than nice using it for a nice hot bubble bath during winter.
The bath cream is quite thick and you really have to squeeze the sides of the bottle in order to dispense it. It comes out in gloopy lumps and so with each use I did end up using loads of it. This only lasted for about 4 baths before the bottle was empty which really is not cost effective whatsoever.
My skin felt very soft after using this, and it is just a shame my skin was not scented also.
This costs £2 from Boots. This is more than I would normally pay for bubble bath or shower gel in these budget-conscious times, so I can't entirely say that the price is justified. For £2 I would want this product to last for a lot longer.
WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS?
I would recommend this, again if you could afford the price tag. The main reason I would recommend this is because it does smell absolutely gorgeous. If this was cheaper, I would definitely buy it for myself as it's so nice to have a bath with this and let the sweet, fruity aroma waft around the bathroom.
I love all things bath related, I am always buying different bath creams and shower gels to make bath time a little more girly and nice.
I came across the Boots Natural Collection range quite a while ago, it is basically a brand that provides cheaper alternatives to fancy more expensive products such as make up, bath and shower gels, moisturisers, body butters etc. I quite like some of their products, but some of them aren't really good substitutes for the more expensive brands on the market. I picked up the Boots Natural Collections Strawberry Bath Cream a while before Christmas, along with a few other scented products from the range and I must say, I quite liked it and would definitely buy it again.
This product is perfect for strawberry lovers, is has a really strong strawberry scent from it that lingers in the bath and also on my skin after I have used it. It has a really sweet smell and in my opinion actually smells good enough to eat.
This bath cream claims to leave skin cleansed and noticeably softer, I will say my skin does actually feel lovely when I have had a bath in this, however it isn't really a lasting effect. It does leave my skin feeling nice and clean after using it and the scent from it lingers on my skin for quite a while after using it.
To use this bath cream you simply pour it under warm water in the bath to release its aroma. I really love this bath cream and find that it gives quite a few bubbles when you use a good amount for it in the bath (about 1/8 of the bottle). It gives a really nice, sweet smelling bath that is lovely relaxing to lie in.
Price and Availability
The price is one of the main things that attracted me to this product, you can buy a 250ml bottle for £2 in Boots at the moment, which I think is a great price for such a nice smelling, lovely product. I will no doubt buy this in the future as I think that it is fantastic value.
I think that this product is one of the better Natural Collection products, it smells lovely and is cheap and cheerful. I would recommend it to anyone who loves strawberries and enjoys a nice relaxing bath. Overall I would give this product 5 out of 5 stars.

I recently made a purchase of several items from the Boots Natural Collection on eBay, the item being a mixed lot of several body care items from this brand. Among the items in the lot was a miniature bottle of the "Boots Natural Collection Strawberry Bath Cream" and this review outlines my experiences of using this product.
The small bottle of bath cream that I have is a miniature version, presumably obtained from some gift set or other, but the full-sized bottle of the product currently retails in branches of Boots for £2 and is also available to purchase online at their website (www.boots.com).
I believe there are three assorted fragrances of the Natural Collection bath creams to choose from, including a Vanilla option.
I won't go on too much about the packaging for the product as my miniature version differs from the full-sized bottles. I also believe that the Boots Natural Collection has had a bit of a 'facelift' in recent times and so my own version of the product's packaging is slightly out-dated as a result.
The product itself remains unchanged, and consists of a bright red coloured liquid that is quite thick in its consistency, which is normal practice with a bath 'cream' type product in my experience. There is a sort of noticeable 'pearly' sheen evident in the thick red liquid which is apparent even before it is poured from the bottle. Opening the bottle to smell the product's aroma, I am met with the most gorgeous scent of strawberries which is extremely inviting.
Thankfully, this beautiful fragrance is extremely noticeable as the product is added under a running tap. The robust aroma really takes hold as it develops in the bathwater, and my bathroom is quickly filled with the gorgeous scent of fresh strawberries. There is a noticeable sweetness in the product's scent and I find this is usually the case with most fruity fragranced products, particularly those that are 'berry' type fragrances as indeed the natural scents of these ingredients are very sweet. The fragrance is very welcoming and refreshing, and I don't find there is any noticeable 'sickly edge' evident from the scent, which would probably make it feel over-powering.
I find that two generous 'dollops' of the bath cream - perhaps about the size of a 50p coin each - squeezed from the bottle under a running tap produces an abundance of foamy bubbles on the bathwater's top layer. This is more than ample for my own requirements, but I would assume that more of the product added to the bath would produce more bubbles if this was your preference. The bubbles created are delicate to the touch as you would expect, and the bathwater feels rather luxurious as a result of their presence.
Unfortunately, this is where the good news ends.
I find that the gorgeous aroma I had experienced whilst the bath was filling is nowhere to be found as I soak in the foamy bathwater. Extremely disappointed, I gingerly sniff the bubbles that have become attached to my skin but this proves fruitless (pun intended!) as their beautiful scent has unfortunately dissipated, leaving behind no trace that is easily detectable.
Similarly, when I am drying myself after bathing, I cannot detect any trace of the product's gorgeous fruity aroma on my skin, which is extremely disappointing and a real let-down. What was robust and full-bodied in its initial appearance is now faint, almost invisible and I am left completely disappointed as a result.
As a result of the disappointing results achieved from the bath cream, it has been demoted to being a basic 'everyday' bath time addition, rather than being anything that feels special or worth keeping for my 'pamper time' and its sole purpose is now to add a little bubbly lather to my bath whilst I use up the remainder of the small bottle. To be fair, for the low price that the product costs I had not expected the product to be particularly luxurious or anything so I was rather surprised at the high quantity - and quality! - of the foamy bubbles it produced in the tub, which exceeded expectations. Unfortunately, this could not be said of the product's aroma which disappeared rapidly and completely when the product was added to the bath.
Another plus point however was the fact that I experienced nothing in the way of irritation or aggravation to my sensitive skin from using this product. Similarly, the product caused no unpleasant side-effects to the dry skin and eczema that I suffer from, so I do think it carries a rather gentle and mild formulation.
In case it hasn't been clear until now, I felt rather disappointed at this product and it is not one that I would repurchase for myself. I didn't expect it to be particularly luxurious, but I did expect to be able to witness the gorgeous aroma of the product as I soaked in the tub, or afterwards, which would have been a bonus. This was nowhere to be found and as a consequence, I felt completely disappointed. Thus, I feel the product is really only deserving of a two star rating.
