“ Brand: Boots / Texture: Cream / Type: Shower Gel / Suitable for: Body / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types / What it does: Nourishes „
The biggest draw with this product was the almond and coconut allure, two of my all time favourite smells alongside bread, lemon and freshly cut grass. Boots is not often where I purchase gels from, as Tesco tends to be my haunting ground, but the odd trip to town allows me to stock up on their three for twos and I happened to be gliding down the shower aisle in the process.
Two hundred mls of the stuff, so a decent sized bottle and well presented too. I had a sniff in the shop and got a pleasing whiff of the summery scent and that was the deciding factor in buying it. Now I like to treat my shower gels as gels and also as bubble baths, though this one did not deliver much in the way of froth, so it had to make do as just a washing aid.
The creamy liquid comes out quite fast and I found that I needed a generous amount to spread it all over the body. The liquid does not cling to the body that well and is prone to slipping off before you have even begun, so it falls down in this department. Where it does excel in the smell department. A good punchy coconut cuts through with aplomb and you can just about detect the almonds too. It left my skin cleansed and soft, though the smell faded fast after use. It left no sticky residue in the bathtub which was handy as some shower gels leave that scummy coating.
To improve this product a thicker viscosity would allow me to soak it up more and work it into my sponge. I would have also liked a better frothy residue from the shower gel. The price tag of a couple of pounds was reasonable though and the cleaning results left me cheery so I would buy this again and I did adore the summery aroma.
When it comes to shower products they are something I really do get through a lot of in my life. At the moment I'm staying with my friend and we have no boiler working which means we have no heating (apart from a gas fire in the living room!) and no hot water (but we do have a shower and a dishwasher thankfully!). So I am relegated to showering and like I say we get through tons of the stuff a week!
I spotted this the other day whilst doing a little shopping in Boots and at £1.24 a time it seemed a good product to try out. Please note though that although this is now called 'Nourish' I bought this just before they changed the packaging so this is the same product, the only difference is it isn't called 'Smooth me' and now the bottle isn't a tube as I have but like I say it's the same product it actually just appears a little plainer!
All looks the same as I have justed stated. Mine is a 200ml see-through plastic sized tube with a flip-top opening to the bottom of it. On the front of it I am told that it is Boots Therapy 'Tropical Indulgence' Smooth Me 'Experience a tropical paradise with this luxuriously creamy coconut and sweet almond polishing cleanser' an the size is stated. On the back of the tube other information listed includes being told a bit about the product and warnings are given, instructions for using it and storage instructions are all listed and ingredients and contact details for Boots are also stated. Nice enough tube of product and it's all informative enough and simple to use of course!
A Bit About The Product According To The Information Given On The Product:
Treat body and mind to a tropical escape with this sensory shower experience, blended with indulgent natural ingredients. Gently polishing capuca peel together with sweet almond extract helps to smooth and refine before creamy coconut infuses the skin with an exotic warmth.
Well of course all you do is dampen/wet the skin and then it's your choice how you apply it of course!
You do however need rather a large amount of this light runny beige coloured liquid to get lather going. I mean it lathers up alright but that lather disappears quickly so I do find I need rather alot of it. However the smell of this is quite simply lovely...and unisex. To me this smells of creamy and lightly sweetened coconuts and that's it really. I can't detect the almond as such but that may be giving it that soft sweetness in the background. The cream is as I have already said quite runny, though don't get me wrong it isn't like water just runnier than what I'm used to using as a rule. The bits in this to exfoliate are like little bits of hard shell in appearance. They are plentiful and you can see them but when using it but they are not rough on the skin at all. You can feel them slightly but they've given me no problems and rinse off with total ease.
I can shave with this providing I used plenty of it and all round it gently softens and hydrates my skin slightly and lightly without making it greasy, it rinses off easily leaving no residue behind itself and leaves my skin gently fragranced for a while. I can't say it's the most economical product I've ever used considering how much I use per shower and to be honest I don't rate the exfoliating it gives me but on an every-day use basis it isn't bad just don't expect it to buff you up and make skin glow too much and you won't be disappointed with it! It does however clean you and that's the main thing with this one!
