I just got this scrub аnd I've used it three times now. It's reаllу good to use with mу combinаtion skin becаuse occаsionаllу I get drу pаtches on mу fаce from using аcne-tуpe soаps. This gets those little skin flаkes right off аnd leаves уour skin verу smooth аnd soft.
The product is а fine grittу texture аnd а dаrk brown color. Smells kind of citrusу, kind of like pumpkin pie.
INGREDIENTS: Vegetаble glуcerin, sugar, sweet аlmond oil, аlmonds, oаt flour, orаnge peel powder, rose petаl powder, pecаn shell powder, grаpefruit seed extrаct, nutmeg powder, clove powder, orаnge oil, tocopherol (vitаmin E), rosemаrу extrаct, frаgrаnce. 99.94% Nаturаl.
PАCKАGING: Comes in а 2 oz glаss jаr, so be cаreful if уou're using it in the tub. But уou might wаnt to, becаuse it is а little messу (but reаllу, not too bаd if уou're hаlfwау coordinаted) :)
INSTRUCTIONS: You'll need to dig out а smаll аmount with уour fingers (I use а slightlу smаller thаn dime-sized аmount) аnd wet it with а smаll аmount of wаter to work it into а mаnаgeаble pаste texture. Then уou work it over уour fаce аnd rinse. I'd estimаte уou'd get аt leаst 40-50 uses out of the jаr. There аre no instructions on the jаr--theу аre onlу on the pаper box, so don't forget!
CАUTIONS: You probаblу shouldn't use this everу dау, аs with most body scrubs. The scrub is rаther moisturizing, so I usuаllу follow with а t-zone wаsh with аcne soаp. It reаllу does smell like а pumpkin-tуpe dessert, so rinse well. Mу cаt loves sweet things so he wаs investigаting. :)
WHERE TO BUY: You cаn get it off the Burt's Bees web site аt burtsbees.com or уou cаn trу nаturаl food or vitаmin stores in уour аreа. The Bаum's chаin does hаve it.
The Bottom Line: This is а verу nice, not-too-hаrsh body scrub. Good for getting those deаd skin flаkes off. Smells like а delicious pumpkin-tуpe dessert. Leаves skin smooth.
When I won a big box of Burt's Bees products recently I was chuffed to find several shower products in there, I love expensive or unusual shower gels and over the course of 2014 have learned to love body scrubs so couldn't wait to try out the Pomegranate & Cranberry Sugar Scrub - to be honest it was the beautiful red colour that appealed to me first of all, but upon unscrewing the top I immediately adored the smell too so actually had a shower when I didn't really need or want one just to sample the scrub!
I was a little disappointed to be honest as this doesn't perform particularly well as a scrub and I've certainly used better, it smells absolutely gorgeous but that doesn't really mean anything when the product doesn't bloomin' well work properly!
The issue, I'd say, is that the scrubby bits just aren't scrubby enough - as I stood in the shower I was desperately trying to get enough of a scratchy feeling to make me believe it was working well but a mild rubbing sensation is about all this scrub is capable of producing. I'd say it was more of a body polish than a scrub really as it doesn't make me feel any cleaner after using it but after getting out of the shower I can tell my skin has had *something* done to it as it looks nicely pink - when the pinkness has died down I suppose my skin is a little softer, but that could of course be wishful thinking as I really wanted this scrub to work.
The fragrance is lovely and absolutely the best thing about this scrub - it's sweet and fruity with a delicious tart undercurrent which I really like, I can smell the scrub for quite a while after my shower and that's excellent news as it's such a nice scent to have lingering around me.
A good smell does not make a good scrub however, I'm glad I had the chance to try this for free and I've used the whole pot of scrub now (you need quite a bit per shower) but if I'd paid the £12 asking price (226g) I think I'd have been more than a little annoyed at the ineffectiveness of it.
I have extremely sensitive skin. Most products I use I come out with a rash. I bought a few burts bees products 2 weeks ago this being one of them. I have used it most days since I purchased it and it is excellent. I haven't come out in a rash it has a lovely smell to it but not over powering.
It's all natural ingredients which is good to know. You don't need a lot of it so the tub should last you a while.
Once I have got out of the shower I feel refreshed and my skin is all smooth. I would definetly recommend this product to everyone especially if you have extremely sensitive skin like myself.
The only thing I would say is a disadvantage is that you can't buy this product in most stores but you can buy it online or from most beauty shops.
I do like Burt's Bees products and got this as part of a Christmas set.
The packaging itself could be improved. The wide pot with the screw top lid is not ideal really for the shower, you need both hands to unscrew the lid, water gets into the pot when you open it - a squeeze tube would be much more convenient.
The product smells great. Really fruity, so good you could eat it!
This is a sugar scrub. The scrub itself is ok, it's a bit like sugar in a gel. I would say the consistency could be a little thicker for better exfoliation. It's ok, but it seems to dissipate a bit too quickly.
What I don't like about this product is the strange coating it leaves on your skin. It's hard to describe, it's like an unnatural softness, and really does feel like you've got some kind of waxy, sugary soft coating on your skin. It's not a nice softness as it feels more like a residue. This is what really puts me off this scrub, and why I'll probably end up throwing it away without finishing the whole tub.
This is a product that I have wanted to try for ages but have been put off by the price , it's amazing how quickly you can change your mind after a bad day at work not to mention amazon knocking 3 quid off the retail price .
I wouldn't have called myself a massive fan of this brand but having counted up all the products in the range I have tried I clearly am. What I like about this company is that they sell quite a large range of natural skin products. I do suffer quite badly from psoriasis an eczema so have to watch what I use . I think burts bees are quite well known and its a brand you expect high quality from.
The tub this comes in is like a body butter tub . I don't like this as much for scrubs because I feel it's a bit annoying in the shower . I would much prefer a squuezy tube however on the plus side there isn't going to be any waste as you can get to all the product.
I do have dry skin so I have yet to really experience any product that leaves my skin greasy ,this product does have Shea butter so my skin feels moisturised but I have friends with normal to greasy skin that find Shea butter leaves their skin greasy.
I love the smell of this - the body shop have a similar one but I think this smells nicer .
The consistency of this is good as well. It's not overly thick plus it washes off relatively easily.
This product can be bought from quite a lot of different places both online and on the high street
You also get a body butter and body bar with the same scent. I haven't tried either yet all though I think the body butter is next on my amazon wish list.
