If you've been following my reviews you will be aware that I absolutely adore beautifully scented toiletries and a couple of months ago I reviewed one of my favourite fragrances, namely Calvin Klein's Eternity, which is manufactured by Coty Prestige. This review discusses the matching shower gel with the appearance of my product differing from the photograph shown by Dooyoo.
The product I own is contained within a 100ml white plastic tube, which sits on a white screw top lid. Whilst its' appearance is somewhat simplistic, it oozes style and sophistication with its' familiar Calvin Klein logo, which is situated on the lower section in small black lettering. The upper section of the product provides us with the name Eternity in large capital letters and situated below we are informed in both English and French that this is a luxurious shower gel.
I have purchased this product, together with the fragrance and body lotion on numerous occasions over the last few years and a couple of weeks ago I needed to replenish my lotion. Consequently, I visited Boots and purchased a gift set containing both the fragrance and what I thought was the body lotion. It was only when I attempted to use it that evening and squirted a rather large amount onto my leg that I realised that the gift set actually contained shower gel as opposed to body lotion! As a result, I have several shower gels and still no body lotion!
In order to provide accurate information and describe the stunning aroma of this gorgeous shower gel it has been necessary for me to lift and edit a few sentences of one of the paragraphs contained within my previous review. The actual fragrance is marketed as a warm, sweet floral scent that is suitable for both day and evening use and is extremely feminine and very luxurious with its' base notes of sandal, helitrope, musk, patchouli and amber with heart notes of rose, violet, narcissus, marigold, lily of the valley, carnation, white lily and jasmine. The top notes are mandarin, freesia, citrus oils and sage. Obviously, as this is a shower gel, the vast combination of notes work in an entirely different way, particularly due to the fact that once applied to the body it is subsequently rinsed away and therefore, hasn't been designed to develop on your skin as would the fragrance.
The shower gel is easily dispensed where you need to give the tube a gentle squeeze to be greeted with a fairly runny light green gel. I was somewhat surprised the first time I used this shower gel, as I expected it to be of a thicker consistency, particularly as it is marketed as a luxurious product. Its' consistency is much thinner that the likes of Radox and Palmolive and almost resembles that of a shops' basic brand. Consequently, I would advise you to be careful, particularly if you are applying to your hand as opposed to a sponge or body polisher as you will find it will easily run through your fingers and down the plughole!
I always use a net body polisher when bathing and showering, particularly as it allows my products to last much longer. The gel lathers within seconds of touching the skin and smells absolutely delightful and most definitely luxurious. However, whilst one application of more run of the mill shower gels is generally sufficient for my shower, I always find that I need two of this product. Consequently, I'm using the product twice as fast.
The gel is extremely soft and gentle on the skin and very effective. I normally tend to shower fairly quickly with using my normal products, but when I use the Eternity Shower Gel I take my time, particularly due to its' high price tag, so I want to make the most of my luxurious showering experience.
The gel is easily rinsed and leaves a beautiful subtle fragrance on my skin. Normally after bathing and showering I will apply a fragranced body cream, but as I do not wish to mask the stunning Eternity aroma I tend to use a basics baby lotion to enable the gorgeous aroma to last as long as possible. Consequently, I cannot comment on its' moisturising properties. However, I can state that I have never experienced any adverse reaction when using.
Once opened the shower gel needs to be used within 24 months. I was rather surprised that I could not locate a recycling symbol anywhere on the tube, but as it is manufactured from a soft plastic I believe it is suitable for your recycling waste.
I love to be able to layer my fragrances and would advise that on its' own the shower gel will cost around £20. However, I purchased a gift set from Boots where I received both a 30ml fragrance and a 100ml tube of shower gel for £27.00. Whilst typing this review I thought I would check on Amazon and would advise that the identical gift set is available for £19.99 + £4.00 P+P. This is excellent value for money, particularly as Amazon are selling just the fragrance for £19.99 + P+P.
I absolutely adore this shower gel and if you team it up with the matching fragrance you will smell absolutely irresistible for hours! It is a very romantic and luxurious aroma and I feel that it is suited to women of all ages.
I cannot recommend this shower gel highly enough and would love to give it 5 stars, but I have to deduct one due to it being a little too runny.
I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.
