“ Brand: Champneys / Type: Bath Product / What it does: destresses „
I work really long hours and am often in need of a very hot relaxing bubble bath when i get home from a busy shift to relieve the stresses and strains of the day. I recieved lots of lovely bath products from various friends and family members for christmas (they know me well) One of these products was from The Champneys Collection which i have used in the past and had all but forgotten about. It is this product that i will now review. To give it its full title Chapneys Collection Pure Relaxation Aromatic Bath Essence.
This product can be purchased from most major high street chemist shops and also online. It costs anything between £5 -£10 so shop around for the best deal. It is essentially a bath gel which promises to "gently calm and soothe your mind and body". I hasten to add these are the manufacturers words and not mine! The product comes packaged in a clear plastic bottle with a gold coloured lid. I noticethe picture on show above features a red lid so i would assume that it has had a revamp at some stage or another. It contains 300mls of bath essence so rather pricey however we are all entitled to a little luxury from time to time.
The gel like lotion is a very pale yellow colour, happily the manufacturers have actually ensured that the bottle has been filled with product. There is nothing more annoying in my book than spending a fortune on a product only to discover that it is only three quarters full leaving the consumer feeling somewhat ripped off!! The product details are imprinted on the plastic bottle no peel off labels here. The reverse tells you some product ingredients. How to use, and also that once opened it should be used within 24 months.
On opening the screw-top lid you are met with the glorious scent of lavender and chamomile. It is a strong scent however not an unpleasant one which certainly stimulates the old nostrils. Aparently there is also mandarin somewhere however this aroma is not as noticeable amongst the two stronger ones already mentioned. I ran myself an extremely hot bath and poured what seemed like a tiny amount under the running water. The delightful scent filled my bathroom in no time at all. The only issue i had with this product was that i was expecting a bubbly bubble bath which i did not get. However that was an error on my part. It does state that it is a bath essence as apposed to a bath foam which is clearly stated however this did not detract from my eventual enjoyment of relaxing in the glorious aroma.
What a fabulous product to help unwind after a hard day. It also succeeded in making me feel sleepy and relaxed. I noticed that my skin felt soft to after using the gel and was delicately scented with lavender. Overall you really cant fault this product. I would highly recommend its use even if the only downside in my opinion being the price. I will certainly be buying this again. This product has not been tested on animals.
I love the Champneys bath range, and this product is no exception. I bought it in the Sainsburys, where it usually costs £6.50 for 300ml, so it's quite pricey for a bath essence, although cheaper than most of the Champneys bubble baths. I got it in the sale for around £4.50, which I think is a more reasonable price for what you get.
The bottle is clear plastic, with a screw on gold lid (not sure why it looks red in the picture!) and the liquid inside is also clear and colourless. The consistency is thick and gel-like, and you don't need to use too much of it- I find a dollop or two plenty to create a decent dose of foamy bubbles. Don't expect full on bubble bath style bubbles- it's more of a creamy foam, which had all but gone after half an hour.
The scent is lovely- a combination of essential oils, predominantly (but not overpoweringly) lavender, renowned for its relaxing properties. Lying back in this, the steam was soon lavender scented too, which made for a very relaxing bathtime. The bottle also mentions mandarin and chamomile, which add to the scent although they are hard to pick out individually. My skin was fine and dandy after using it too- none of the irritation you'd get with neat essential oils.
This bath essence definitely lives up to its name- I felt thoroughly relaxed after using it and would recommend it particularly as a pre-bedtime treat to help you unwind.
Containing a pure essential oil blend of relaxing lavender, uplifting mandarin and comforting chamomile, this aromatherapy bath is perfect to help you unwind at the end of the day, encourages sleep and leaves you with a feeling of peace and tranquillity /
