Nice creamy body wash with a heavy scent

After Christmas and wrestling with the Christmas tree all afternoon and then an hour cleaning up all the needles and it's not even a real tree, I decided it was time for a long relaxing soak.

I decided that I would try the Champneys Thai Royale range that someone bought me last Christmas. I like Champneys bath and body products and I usually get them as gifts and treat myself when I run out but hadn't tried this particular one before.
So armed with my latest purchase a £2.99 bath pillow from Morrisons I had a very enjoyable long relaxing soak.
This comes in a dark purple plastic tube with a gold lid, which looks as regal as its name.
I like the packaging, it makes the product look really rich and luxurious and much more expensive than it is.
Champneys is a luxury health spa and this is one of their products, so I expect something luxurious associated with the Champneys brand and this doesn't disappoint.
I also like that that you can stand the tube upright and it doesn't tip over easily.
The product is a creamy colour and is thick and feels rich and silky. I use a bath scrunchy as they make any product you use go further and a small amount lathered up nicely and a little went a long way.

However I was in the mood to indulge, so used more product than I would normally, so I was able to get the scent more than I would usually.

I did have a sniff before my bath and it smelt Ok, I didn't love the smell but I didn't hate it.
I would describe this as a strong floral musky scent mixed with coconut and I am not sure about this combination. It is quite a heavy scent and after reading the ingredients I discovered this is a mix of hibiscus, coconut oil and lemongrass. For me the floral is slightly overpowering, so I decided to give the body cream in the range a miss after my bath.

My skin did feel really soft and moisturised and had a nice sheen, so I didn't really need a body cream.
This product will last a long time as it lathers well and you only need to use a small amount, to achieve a rich lather.
There are other products in this range, a bubble bath, body cream, body oil and body polish and I would imagine that using the full range together would leave a long lasting scent, which is great if you love this.

I don't and it gave me a slight headache.

When I walked into our living room after the bath, my husband turned to me and asked whether I had been spraying air freshener! Clearly he wasn't keen either!
A great shame as I was given the whole range!

      Price and Availability
Boots has this at £8 for 250ml.

      Would I recommend?
I would recommend Champneys shower creams as they leave my skin feeling soft and hydrated. I think they are a very good quality at a reasonable price and they are great if you want to have a pampering session as they have several products in each range.
However I am not keen on the Thai Royale scent, it is too heavy and floral for me. So have a sneaky whiff of this one before you buy.
Scent is a matter of personal taste and on that basis I have to deduct 2 stars from what is a really nice product.
