I absolutley love this product! You get so much out of this small can that expected. I could spray only a small amount on myself and it would expand to loads! You can get all different smells for each different colour and I think they are all just as good as eachother, it leaves my skin smelling good when getting out the shower.I would highly recommend this product as for the price its good as you get more than expected out of it.
I am a huge fan of the Imperial Leather brand in general, but the selection of foaming shower gel products in the 'Foamburst' range from the brand have really proven to be a big hit with me, and I have loved most of the varieties in the range.
A tried and tested favourite from the range can be found in the "Moisture Plus Foamburst" which is a product I have purchased many times in the past. The 200ml canister generally retails in the region of £2 - £4, although I have recently been lucky enough to purchase the product in a local (independent) pound shop. I think it is worth shopping around for products from the Foamburst range as their prices seem to vary greatly from store to store.
The brand is quite widely available, with products from the range being available in branches of Boots and Superdrug, as well as some supermarkets such as Tesco and Asda. Discounted drugstores such as Savers also carry a small selection of the products and these are usually the most competitively priced, in my experience. Whilst I would not normally pay around the £3 mark for a basic, everyday shower gel product, the luxurious feel of the Foamburst, together with the amount of use I can obtain from one can, do make it a fairly economical product in my opinion. Indeed, there is a claim to this effect on the packaging, promising "Over 40 Showers In Every Pack".
The Foamburst canisters are different from other shower gel products that I purchase regularly as they are not in bottles made of plastic. Instead, the Foamburst is packaged in a metal tin, that looks to me like an anti-perspirant deodorant or a body spray product. There is a plastic lid at the top of the metal tin within which there is an indent which dispenses the product when pressed. The packaging looks fairly attractive, and the soft 'lilac' tones used in the metal canister allow for a rather feminine image to be portrayed.
The gel itself is also a pleasant shade of purple/lilac and it looks very attractive, although the gel is much denser than other shower gel products, its consistency being more like a sort of thicker gelled 'paste' that foams easily - and extremely generously - upon contact with water. I find that the foaming quality of the Foamburst products is extremely easy to achieve and so a very small amount of the gel product needs to be used, making the tin of product last a long time and the claims to this effect that are on the packaging ring true.
With a little of the gel on my flannel or sponge, the addition of water really makes the 'Foamburst' element of this product come into full force instantaneously. What transforms from the thick, gel-like paste is an absolute abundance of rich, creamy, luxuriously-foamy lather. This makes the product seem very rich and luxurious when I am using it and it seems to be extremely soft and gentle, fluffy even, on my tired skin. The thick foamy lather has a nourishing quality to it, or at least that is how it feels to me when I am using it, and I do not find it at all drying or harsh to use on my sensitive skin.
The fragrance of the gel is very evident as soon as it is dispensed from the canister to be honest, and I find it has a wonderfully 'powdery' quality to it that reminds me of talcum powder or baby care lotions. There is also a light floral tone to be found in the product's scent although it is not at all over-powering or 'heady', instead being wonderfully fragrant and quite uplifting. The scent carries on the skin for a short while after use, although I find that other products used - such as body sprays and body lotions - will easily overtake the Foamburst's aromatic cloud.
I wouldn't have thought that these qualities allowed the product to be suitable for 'unisex' use, as the powdery and floral elements in the fragrance are rather feminine. This is not a negative point as such, but it is true to say that the product wouldn't be selected by my husband as it is just too girly.
The 'Moisture Plus' element of the product's name did ring true after use in the bath or shower. Whilst my skin would normally feel unpleasantly 'tight' or dry - particularly on the upper arm area - the Foamburst appears to have nourished the area slightly, providing light moisturisation and care. The moisturisation properties to be found from the product were quite impressive in my opinion, and I did feel that my skin was softened after use. To be honest, there are not many products that will warrant me skipping out my precious body butters or body lotions from my usual bath-time routine, and the Imperial Leather Moisture Plus Foamburst was no exception to this, so I undertook this daily task as usual. For other consumers however - perhaps those who do not suffer from dry skin in the same way that I do - it may be the case that the Foamburst product provides enough in the way of moisturisation, but this certainly wasn't the case for my own thirsty skin.
As with all the products in the Imperial Leather Foamburst range that I have tried in the past, I have used the Moisture Plus variety when shaving my legs. Thanks to the thick, gel-like consistency of the product, and the thick, creamy, foamy lather that it produces, I find that Foamburst produces a sufficient lather to allow my razor to glide over my wet skin. This has proven to be useful when I am going on a short trip away as it means I only need to take one product instead of packing a separate shower gel and shaving foam. I have had no experience of any irritation to my sensitive skin when I have used the product in this way.
Likewise, there has been nothing in the way of aggravation to my sensitive skin from continued use with the product, neither has there been any sort of unpleasant 'dryness' or irritation to my troublesome eczema that will flare easily if overly-harsh products come into contact with my skin. For these reasons, I have come to the conclusion that the Imperial Leather Foamburst gels contain quite a mild and gentle formulation, and I would have no issues with allowing youngsters to use the gels.
In summary, I really like the Foamburst Moisture Plus and it is a product that I will continue to purchase for use in the bath and shower. It is a strong contender from the Foamburst range and I cannot find a single fault with it, warranting a full five stars in the product rating.
As @ the time of writing (August 2012), the Moisture Plus Foamburst can be purchase online at www.amazon.co.uk for around £3 plus postage costs.
I am not a fan of imperial leather after having tried their soap. I hate the smell and feeling it leaves my skin when I use it. This is why when my mum bought this home I thought it was going to be the same horrible smell. But I was very much mistaken.
This is a sort of shower gel. It comes in a tin container that you have to spray to get the gel out (like a deodorant can). When you massage it on to your body it lathers up really quickly and the burst of scent is released. It feels really smooth and moisturising on the skin and it smells a little like jasmine. I would say that the smell is neither feminine nor masculine and so it can easily be used by both sexes. It has jojoba oil which is a really good moisturising agent. It has the consistency of shaving gels which lather up with water.
A little goes a long way with this gel and I have as yet been using it for a month every day and I have still got at least three quarters of it left. The thing that I really love about the gel is that it works really well at moisturising my skin and leaving it hydrated which many of the gels I have tried before have failed to do. I think that the jojoba oil is the main reason for this moistening effect. I have been using soaps previously and found that they left my skin dry and it would tightened up after having a shower.
I have used the gel also when shaving and it is really good. I have previously used soap (I have never used shower gel as I think it is an unnecessary expense), and although it worked I found it wasn't as good at providing a close shave like the gel. Shaving not only removes hair but it also exfoliates the skin therefore a gel that keeps the skin moisturised is less likely to result in cuts.
This foamburst was purchased from Tesco for a very cheap 37p but the normal price is £2.99 or 2 for £5. I realise that although this may seem like a very steep price to pay for shower gel I think that it is worth it because it stops by skin from drying.
Having really enjoyed using a couple of the Cussons Imperial Leather Foamburst Shower Gels lately when I spotted this one in Poundland I grabbed it as only the week before had I seen this in my local Tesco store when doing my weekly shopping on offer at 2 for a fiver or for £2.99 each and thought that was a bit pricey so I snapped it up when I saw it knowing once again I was making myself a little saving!
The can holds 200ml of the product and is a very light lilac in colour and on the front of it we are told that it is Cussons Imperial Leather Foamburst Moisture Plus 'With Exhilarating Jojoba & Passionflower' Foaming Shower Gel. On the back of the can other information listed includes being told a bit about the product and how to use it, the ingredients and the size are given and contact details for the manufacturer are listed. Lovely packaging, I do like the easy to press dispenser to the top of it and in my opinion this has a very unisex look to it too.
The Shower Gel Itself:
Well on the front of the can we are told that this should dispense out more than 40 washes, to me though like other products from this range I get around 20 washes from it but then I am heavy handed so if your a bit tight...you should get a lot more from yours!
This dispenses out a transparent gel that trebles if not more in size into a thick, rich white and soft feeling foam. The fragrance of this is really hard to describe and to me is a bit like a very gentle aroma of parma violets or something floral either way it is a natural scent and not too sweet at all and perfectly pleasant. This goes on the skin smoothly, you can shave your bits and bobs with this if you so want to and it rinses off great too leaving my skin feeling soft, smooth supple, very clean and gently fragranced for a good few hours.
I do like the gentle moisturising this gives to my skin, not being too much but I don't feel like I have to moisture after using this one either!
This is a really nice product from within this range though if you like stronger scented shower products this may not be for you but for me this one is just right!
Available in all good supermarkets and chemists etc.

My sister is a superdrug-aholic always purchasing new products that are on offer and stocking up for those rainy days. I am not particularly fussy about shower gels as I tend to find that the moment u step out the shower and moisturise the scent is gone anyway. So when she raved about foamburst I thought I would give it a try. It genuinely is the best shower gel on the current Market & I wouldn't use any other!
One little squirt and it comes out in a small liquid but it does what it says on the tin and it truly does lather up and a burst of foams are on my flannel! As a result of this, one small squeeze lasts me for an entire shower (maybe I'm just not that dirty?!) and so the bottle lasts a long time.
I always try to wait for them on offer like buy 1 get one free as I am now noticing their popularity and in superdrug and supermarkets alike they are retailing at about £2.99+. They come in a lot of different scents so everyone is bound to find one that suits them :)
I have tried many shower foams but this one is my favourite.
It is good value for money as you do not need to use too much to get a wonderful foamy lather and it smells gorgeous.
The shape of the container is attractive and there are many different aromas to choose from.
It has a lovely gel feel when you squirt it from the container and there is little waste with this product.
I use it in the shower and also the bath as I have not found and gel more refreshing and easy to use.
A container will last me around a month with daily usage but I make sure I am always stocked up with it.
I would recommend this shower gel due to it being a pleasure to use and good value for money.
It is also good to take if you go away for a break as there is little possibility of leakage.
The only reason I bought the foamburst was because it was on offer and money is a bit tight these days! I think it was buy one get one free so I bought the japanese spa and the hawaiian spa as these were the only 2 available. It is a 200ml metal can with a pump at the top which expels the foam/gel. The pump is similar to what you get at the top of a deoderant can. The can itself is actually not heavy and if you shake the can you can't feel anything (if you shook a can of deoderant you can feel the liquid moving about). But as you use the product, the can does become lighter. So the can is labelled with foamburst limited edition and gives you some information about some of the fragrances/ingredients i.e. green tea, jasmine etc.
The can says that you get 40+ showers per pack and thinking about it now, it probably is true because one can will last you ages!
You pump some into your hands and you get a gel like substance a bit like shaving gel which starts to foam up as water hits it in the shower and as you start using it on your body. All of the sudden when the gel starts to foam up, it's actually amazing how much of the product you realise you are getting just from one pump. It is lightly moisturing too so I find that my skin is quite soft even before I add my moisturiser. Both the japanese and hawaiian spa smell gorgeous and feels really luxurious. I think it is definitely worth buying as you can't use too much because you pump the product out of the can. The amount of times I have spilt or poured too much shower gel into my hands - it is really annoying and wasteful! but with the foamburst this will not happen. It will last you absolutely ages which will save you money as you're not buying more shower gel. Overall I give it a 9/10, the reason why I deduct 1 point is because I have only ever come across the hawaiian and japenese spa...please bring out some more different varieties!!!
What Do I Think?
I'd class this product as a fun, novelty shower gel, almost a little gimmicky, but actually it's pretty good value for money and it does work! The obvious difference between Foamburst and other regular shower gels is the consistency, which I can only compare to shaving gel - you squeeze it out of the tube into your hand, you only need a little in its gel state, then as you rub it all over your skin it foams and turns into a deliciously scented, rich and quite luxurious feeling lather. A little goes a surprisingly long way with this, and the first time I used it I actually giggled because I wasn't expecting it to be as 'fun' to use (easily pleased?!). The 200ml bottle claims to last for 40 washes, although I think it'd be a little hard to get the exact same amount every time you use it, but I do think it would last quite a long time. Imperial Leather have this to say: "wrap and soothe your skin with this rich blend of softening Jojoba and sumptuous passionflower milk, combined with the rich, creamy, soft lather that your body deserves". The combination of ingredients creates a gorgeous, feminine scent, something that is quite different to anything else I have tried, and I really like it!
Where Is It Available?
Imperial Leather is available pretty much everywhere in the UK, so hunt around to get it for the cheapest price you can. I think there are lots of places that have it on offer at the moment too!
Would I Recommend It?
Yes, I didn't think I'd like it, but I actually would consider repurchasing this because it's moisturising on the skin, washes well, and is incredibly fun to use! The scent is a stand out feature for me too.
I got 1 of the tiny little ones of these from Asda. I don't know if all branches of Asda are much the same but my local one has an area where there is just some little trial sized products. Everything is £1 each or can sometimes be found on offer oon 4 for £3. There is lots of little products such as Shower Gels, Body Spray, Deo's, Talc, Shampoo and so on. These are great f you want to take them on holiday or try something different for a smaller price in case you may not like it.
The tin I got of this was only 50mls but it done me a few goes. I think the normal sized tin is 150ml and not too sure of the price but would say it would probably be under £3. So as usual the larger tin that you buy the more economical it works out.
The tin looks like the Dooyoo picture, but a bit shorter since it is smaller. The colouring of the tin is nice enough as it is like a lilac colour and the branding is easy to spot on the tin. To use this just shake and then press the nozzle part down to dispense this.
This comes out in a Gel, but this turns to a thick Foam almost immediately after I squirted this. The first time I used this i squirted out too much and ended up with Foam all over me, but I learnt after this. Although I normally use a Shower Gel on a Body Puff, with this I just applied this onto my skin. This stayed on a thick coating well enough and rinsed off easily enough as well.
After it was rinsed off my skin felt nice and smooth and there was a light scent left behind as well. It's hard to describe the scent of this, but it is a fresh and slightly parma Violet kind of scent in my view. It smells Creamy as well sort of like fragrant Dove Products with the Cream kind of scent.
I will be buying a large bottle of this as it is a really nice Shower Gel/Foam product.
I love smellies! I have tried thousands over the years so you can imagine if I end up coming back to something, it's pretty good! This is one of my fave body washes and one I always end up putting in the basket when I'm smellies shopping (and yes, I really do go smellies shopping!). This is my review for Imperial Leather Foamburst Moisture Plus:
1. The Smell:
This for me is the most important factor when choosing a body wash. I have autism so I am very sensitive (well, with my autism anyway) to smells. A nice smell calms me right down almost straight away, hence the obsession with smellies. This smells divine! It's really floral yet it's quite an empowering flower smell which is probably the Passion Flower in it, as it contains Jojoba and Passion Flower and it really is calming and it stays on your skin for quite some time too! Smell gets 5 stars from me!
2. The Lather:
This is the other really important thing when it comes to body washes, though of course you can't just lather a body wash up when you're shopping, might look a bit strange! Generally if it looks like a creamy texture, you can kind of work out it's going to lather pretty well. This lather, wow, it literally foams up when you rub it onto your skin then the smell enfolds all around the bathroom. I can happily use this for shaving too, because it foams so well. It also rinses off with ease, which is always great. Lather gets 5 stars from me!
3. The Result:
This is the last really important bit, of course! This leaves my skin really soft and I can still smell the smell on my skin, which lasts too! When I've shaved with this too, my legs and underarms are left really smooth and not dried out at all. Result gets 5 stars from me!
Overall, I really recommend this body wash. It really is a gorgeous smell, though I wouldn't say it was a guy's type of smell, definitely a girly smell in my opinion! I also love the purple can it comes in, it looks really funky! Price wise, I've found this to be between the £2.50 -£3 mark and one can lasts me about 2 weeks, because I do tend to use a lot!
When I was pregnant with my daughter I was amazed about the amount of freebies that I got from various companies (it helped that I signed up for everything!). One freebie was a giftset from Huggies which included items such as a trial size pack of wipes, changing mat, antibacterial handgel and a travel size Imperial Leather Foamburst. All items were travel/ trial size which was ideal as I took them into hospital with me which was fortunate as I ended up staying for a week!
I've used Imperial Leather Foamburst before but I'd never really bothered with it again as normally I opt for items which are on offer but I wasn't going to knock a freebie! It was packed in my hospital bag and taken with me.
** Imperial Leather **
The company started off called Bayleys and was formed in 1768 and based on London's Bond Street. It created perfumes and the most famous is probably the perfume created for a Russian Count called Eau de Cologne Imperiale Russe. The company was bought by Cussons Sons & Co in 1921 and started to produce soap and toiletries. In 1968 the company was bought out and is now owned by PZ Cussons.
** What Imperial Leather Say **
"The Ultimate shower experience. You've never had a shower like this before! Be amazed as foamburst instantly transforms in use from a transparent gel into mounds of rich & creamy lather!
Wrap and soothe your skin with this rich blend of softening Jojoba and sumptuous passionflower milk, combined with the rich, creamy, soft lather that your body deserves.
Leave your skin nourished and delicately cared for. Over 40 washes in every can."
** Packaging **
Imperial Leather Foamburst comes in a tall, slim purple/ lilac can. On the front of the can is the very well known red logo together with the product name in a lovely, swirly type font in white. On the back is all the usual blurb you would expect.
** The Foamburst **
You wouldn't think getting the gel out of the can to be tricky but I found that if you press too hard on the top then you get mounds of the gel on your sponge but if you press too lightly you don't get anything at all! It really is a fine art! Once I had mastered it, I noticed that the gel has a consistency just like a shaving foam and comes out in a vibrant purple colour which soon turns completely white in a few seconds. You don't need to use too much of the foamburst as only a small amount gives a rich white lather which feels like velvet, it is so incredibly soft. You don't get bubbles with this product you just get this soft white lather which seems to stick to your skin until you rinse it off and then it soon disappears. It really does feel like quite a luxurious shower as the foamburst itself is incredibly light but incredibly rich in white lather, it is lovely.
The foamburst has a lovely sweet but not sickly sweet fragrance. It reminds me of berries and especially The Comforter Bubble Bar from Lush. I'm guessing the sweet/berry type aroma comes from the passionflower. Passionflower is known to help reduce anxiety in stressful situations and help calm your nervous system. I can definitely say post shower I did feel incredibly relaxed but then I always do after a shower! Jojoba is known for its great moisturising qualities which is great as I do suffer with dry skin. Every time I have used the foamburst my skin has been well cleansed but is kept soft and smooth. Albeit I have needed to use a moisturiser but I did notice an improvement especially on my legs which is where I generally get dry skin. Apart from my skin looking and feeling great the lovely berry type aroma stays subtly on your skin for quite sometime which certainly has some staying power!
** Price & Availability **
Imperial Leather Foamburst is available in all good supermarkets and discount stores and costs around £2.65 for a 200ml can. This is on the more expensive side for Imperial Leather but they do have offers on a lot of the time.
** Overall **
A great foamburst! My skin feels incredibly moisturised and after frequent use my dry skin is a lot better thanks to the jojoba oil. The fragrance is sweet but calming and lingers around for hours after a shower. Definitely one I will be buying again and definitely something I would recommend.
