When my best friend found out I was pregnant, she very kindly bought me a gift set from the Cussons Mum & Me brand, which contained amongst other items, this bath soak. I haven't really been tending to have many baths in pregnancy, mainly because I feel hot and bothered most of the time, and the weather of late has been too warm. In the past couple of weeks, however, I have been getting some pelvic pain to accompany my ongoing backache, so I have been having a few soaks in a warm bath to help ease my aches and pains.

There are certain essential oils which are unsuitable to use during pregnancy, so straight away this product gives peace of mind that it's safe to use. It contains camomile to help relax you and prepare you for sleep, and also has added moisturisers and milk proteins which should help keep skin hydrated at a time it can be dry and itchy.

The packaging is quite plain, but for anyone who is familiar with the brand it is instantly recognisable with the "Mum & Me" logo in maroon. I find it a bit annoying that all the products look so similar in their packaging, as I have to check a couple of times that I'm not about to pour shampoo in my bath, or wash my hair with body lotion. The lid is screw top, and the bath soak pours at a nice rate so you can control how much or little you use.

The first time I used this, I think I might have overdone it a bit as I seemed to have a bath full of bubbles which were higher than the top of the bath! Since then, I have only used a small bit, around the size of a ten pence piece, and once you swish it about a bit in the water, it creates a wonderful amount of enticing bubbles. The fragrance is a little more subtle than the other products in the range, but still recognisable being quite sweet. I'm not sure if the camomile dulls the fragrance a little, but it's still pleasant and not overpowering, which is ideal when your sense of smell can easily be heightened in pregnancy.

The experience of soaking in this is absolutely divine when your back and legs are aching. I have had various issues with aches and pains recently, and the only time I'm not aware of them is when soaking in the bath using this. Admittedly, it could be the water causing the temporary relief, but I'm sure the decadence offered by the bubbles and calming aroma of this bath soak must be playing some part. I can happily sit in the bath for ages with my magazine and a fruit juice, and even when I get the energy to use a body scrub or shave my legs, the bubbles don't subside at all. This does make it a little difficult to get rid of the bubbles once the water has drained, but who cares?!

I always use body lotion after bathing, to rehydrate my skin, but I do notice that this bath soak doesn't leave my skin feeling dry or in need of moisturising. It's very delicate and if my bump is feeling dry or itchy it helps to soak in this as it seems to provide much needed moisturisation. I also tend to sleep better which is probably just because I've had a bath, but perhaps also partly due to the camomile.

I absolutely love this product, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to any pregnant ladies in need of some pampering. It's even more relaxing if you can get someone else to run the bath for you! It currently retails for around £3.65 for 300ml, although I've noticed there are often offers on this range of products.
