For Christmas my brother often picks me up a perfume set because he knows I like to have quite a collection of various perfumes. In 2011 the set which he bought me was the DKNY Be Delicious fresh blossom set which came with a small bottle of eau de parfum spray and a 100ml shower gel. My review will focus on the shower gel which can be bought separately from some places but will set you back around £20 according to my online searches so I would advise it is much better to buy the set in terms of value as these cost around £35.00.
The shower gel looks pretty basic to be honest in terms of its packaging and comes in a white plastic tube which sits on a pale pink lid. On the tube there is the DKNY Be Delicious fresh blossom name as well as the standard DKNY logo in a silver coloured lettering. There are also some standard details on the back such as the size of the tube, the website and the fact that it can be used for 24 months after opening.
I do like that the tube sits on its pink lid as it means the shower gel is always ready to be used as I get irritated when I am in the bath or shower and have to wait ages for the liquid to reach the bottom of the tube for dispensing. In this case the shower gel is dispensed easily on to your hand, sponge or in my case I like to use one of those body buffer net things which seams to make all products lather well!
The pink shower gel smells just like the perfume which of course is to be expected but some shower gels just carry a faint smell. This is quite strong as you squeeze it from the tube and rub the lather on to your skin. What I love about DKNY Be Delicious fresh blossom is that it is just so very feminine. The scent is very fruity with a undertone of floral notes when it settles down and it just screams youthfulness, summer and femininity to me so it is nice that the shower gel recreates this so well. I find that it lathers well on the body buffer but it is a bit creamy and hard to lather if I just pop some on my hand and try and rub it in to my skin that way. As I rub the shower gel in the scent is released and it really is divine in my opinion but sadly as the lather is washed away there is virtually no scent left on the skin and certainly once I have got dressed I can no longer smell it at all.
It is such a shame that this shower gel doesn't really linger on the skin as I like to layer my fragrances, especially if I am having a night out or going somewhere special as I think this can make your perfume last longer as a whole on a night but this is not the case sadly with this shower gel. It does smell lovely whilst in the bath like I said and my skin feels quite nice and soft after use and so it is a shame that the fragrance lets it down to be honest. I have not suffered any bad reaction on my skin at all as a result of using this product.
As an addition to a gift set I think this is an ok product. It smells nice at the time and is pleasant enough to use but as a stand alone product I just don't think it can justify such a high price tag myself as I would say it is no better in quality than soap and glory or something much cheaper.
Thank you for reading my review!
