When I'm at home (I sometimes stay at my Mothers) I tend to bath everyday. I have mobility issues and a lot of problems when standing about trying to shower and although I struggle in and out the bath I do find it marginally easier although I do have a shower too in my flat, it just doesn't get the time of day usually!
Because of bathing most days (unless I'm ill) I do get through an awful lot of bath products!
One of my favourite toiletry brands for every day sort of usage is Dove. I find that its a bit of affordable luxury and that its kind to my skin which can be quite sensitive and is rather combination and so when I spotted this bath cream in Boots, on offer for £2.00 opposed to its usual retail price of £3.15 I snapped it up...along with a couple of other scents from the range too!
This comes in a mainly white and robust bottle with dark blue colouring on it and a flip top lid concealing a small hole to the top of it then on the front of the bottle we are told what it is and who it is by and that it contains 1/4 moiturising cream and then on the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told a bit about the product and the ingredients are listed, the size is stated (which in this case is 500ml so its a large bottle), we are told that from once opening it to use it up within 12 months of doing so and there is a lot of information listed in foreign languages and contact details for the manufacturer (Unilever) are also stated. Its a nice looking and rather unisex looking bottle this one and informative enough too. You cant see through the bottle though at all to see when your running out of it however for that reason it does stay looking nice and you can always pick it up and swish it about to check if there is any in there as I do!
To use this bath cream is simple and all you do is add a large dollop of thick, soft white cream (still easy to dispense out of the bottle though!) and run your taps over it. I find that I don't need to use very much at all per bath and this give a nice rich white foam to the top of the water and makes said water feel really soft. The scent of this one is really hard to describe. It isn't fruit, it isn't floral and neither is it sweet or spicy. I'd called it sort of cotton fresh, unisex and a very clean and a fragrance that I'm sure most people would like.
As I have stated already this makes the water soft, not greasy though and its really nice to relax in as the foam stays put for over an hour a time whilst I have a nice long soak, the scent lingers in the air and I feel clean from just sitting in it though I do use a lump of Dove Soap for an extra condition and to clean my skin and it all feels very luxurious indeed!
When I get out of the bath my skin feels really smooth, refreshed and none agitated. The scent lingers beautifully on my skin for a good few hours and I never feel the need to moisturise after using this.
All In All:
I think you tell by the tone of my review I have no quibbles with this at all and Dove remains one of my favourite brands of bath and body products, particularly this one due to its fresh scent and the way my skin feels after taking a dip in it. Buy it for yourself, treat someone to a bottle they or you will are sure to appreciate it!
Available in all good supermarkets, chemists etc.

If there is one thing in my day I really look forward to doing it has to be relaxing in a nice hot water right up to my neck sud-busting bath. I love to have all my nice bath oils around the bathroom and then I face the dilemma oh no which one to use today lol. I love my bath to have suds and fragrance, so today I fancied something smooth and soft with a soft fragrance, so I decided on my new bottle of Dove bath care indulging bath cream. I poured only a small amount into the bath under the warm water and watched as the suds appeared from nowhere, and the fragrance rose into the air. Filling the bathroom and the hallway as the door was open at the time, even my partner complimented about the smell as he called it, what?s that smell he said, it smells nice. So then I told him it was my bath cream and he actually said it smells lovely, I looked at him a little oddly, as if to say you like my ?perfumed? smelling bath cream, he then said is it just for woman, to which I replied well no its for men as well, but don?t get any ideas it mine ( nasty cackle) its all mine? Anyway back to the sudding bath, when I entered back into the bathroom I could not believe my eyes the suds where to the top, and the aroma was heavenly, it was a warm aroma that smelt so clean and fresh, that if it wasn?t for me knowing I would be lying in dirty water, well not that dirty as I bath everyday if possible I would have stayed in there all night lol. The actual bath cream is a white liquid, the consistency is not too thick it matches that of a hair conditioner I think, it comes in a white plastic bottle, this particular bottle is a 500ml bottle, yes a big one, but it wont last very long trust me. It states on the bottle that this cream bath helps your skin to maintain its natural moisture balance, while the rich creamy foam envelops your skin, pampering your body and senses. Which this really does. When you get into the bath it t
akes over you mind the fragrance helps you in a nice kind of way to relax, it seems to take all the days stresses and throw them out of the window, and all the daily tensions anybody is feelings it is like a full body massage and all you have to do is lie there and let go. This Dove product contains, aqua sodium laureth sulfate, cocamidopropyl, parfum, glycerin, sodium chloride and a few other names that I have never heard of or could pronounce. It is made by Lever Faberge who are in London, and have contact details for problems with products or useful information you may have to tell them about there products. I bought this from the Mace shop at the bottom of our road, and for some reason it was only a pound, so yes you guessed it I bought three bottles lol. I really love this product and recommend that you all try it and can honestly say I don?t think you will regret it one little bit. P.S. no wildlife was harmed during my bath. Thanks, Vicky.
Lots of hype and promises about this, the reality is does not bring forth the goods. I have very dry sensitive skin and was expecting wonders. Not so it performed worse than my usual brand and smelt of a a cheap nasty talc which made me sneeze. I had to use much more moisturiser than I normally would do. I also felt that it is a very misleading product, as it is not really suitable for sensitve skins. I think it is o.k. as a general product for those with normal skin and a poor sense of smell, but as a general rule it is very much an over rated and hyped up product. I would not use it buy it or recommend it as there are much better products available.
In the winter I was always used to having dry patches in my teen years but realised I needed something gentler than soap but as cleansing. I tried many liquid soaps and discovered Dove liquid, now I use it twice a day and even to remove makeup. I still use moisturiser but my skin is more smoother than before and it's help my blemishes clear aswell. It's gentle enough for kids to use and due to it's ph balance can help acne prone skin. Since I've been using this family and friends have commented that my skin looks more healthy and doesn't look as dull and pale as it used to especially in colder weather. Anyone who has a dry skin problem should try this, you can use it as a shower creme aswell, it lathers well and can be removed easily.
Dove Ultra Moisturising Body wash, Refreshing Blue, is fantastic! It comes in various sizes, which will gave you a different amount of washes, when used with the dove ‘puff ball’. The product is expensive, which puts many people off, but it is well worth the extra money as it doesn’t leave the skin dry like soap does. It leaves the skin replenished and immensely soft and smooth, the moisturising effects are brilliant. It comes in an easy to transport and store bottle that makes it perfect for taking everywhere with you. It is useful when shaving your legs as it prevents irritation and redness as well as moisturising as you remove the hair. I have both the ordinary and the refreshing blue versions of this product and I particularly like the refreshing blue because it has a subtle smell to it which is heavenly.
Through my Sky Digital interactive I sent off for a free sample of Doves new 2 in 1 body wash. When it arrived, they also sent me a free Dove Puff as well. I used the free sample and thought it was good, and decided to try another Dove body wash in the new fragrance "Refreshing Blue". The smell is lovely and using the body puff with it is great, I think it cleans much better than with a normal sponge. You only need to put a fraction of the body wash on the puff to work up a really good lather, so it will last me a lot longer. I stupidly bought it at the local supermarket for around £4.00, and have since seen it in Wilkinsons for half that price. I know where I will be buying it in future!!
Dove always have the best products and the bath cream can also be added to this honour. I first encountered this last year when they were selling it with a free exfoliater type squidgy thing, so I bought it to sample. The difference in your skin is remarkable. This product is particularly good to use before summer, as it gives you healthy looking skin for when you bare your shoulders in the summer. It leaves your skin nourished and smelling fresh and clean without overpowering your perfume. It is great for all over body use and moisturises your skin also. I don't know about you but I hate have a shower and then putting mousturiser on coz I'm so impatient that I often justget the moisturiser on my clothes instead of my skin. I love this thick creamy wonderful dove. I say buy it.
I love the creaminess, and my skin is REALLy soft, so soft that the next time I bathe I cant still feel the creaminess on my legs. The product is fairly expensive depending on where you shop, its tends to be cheaper in your local "superdug" or places similar. but if you keep a lookout some supermarkets tend to have good offers on the items. Especially Buy one Get one Free! At the moment I am using "Sainsburys" own product, its a ot cheaper than dove and is still nice, but I find that Dove is far more longlasting and smells nicer too. They also do one for those with sensitive skin too. Overall it looks good, smells good and fells gorgeous. Definatly a winner.
