In my opinion when it comes to shower gels paying loads doesnt mean you always get quality so most of the time I buy just average priced brands as they all do pretty much the same thing for me anyway. But my mom seems to have the opposite opinion so shes always splashing out on the so-called 'latest and greatest' products especially when it comes to shower gels and shampoos and this was the latest bottle she came home with 'Dove Cream Oil Cherry Blossom & Almond Body Wash' and she only bought this because it was literally the first shower gel she saw at the supermarket and so she picked it up and Im glad she did because this is another product Ive started using all the time!
Price: Around £2 - 250ml bottle.
Stockists: Bodycare, Supermarkets, Boots & Superdrug.
Also contains Dove active moisturising ingredients for super soft skin along with the cherry and almond fragrance.
This shower gel comes in a large white & light pink flip top bottle. The top of the bottle annoys the hell out of me because with wet hands it is quite difficult to open but I suppose that ensures none squirts out and none is wasted so I guess that could be considered a good thing to some. The bottle has all the necassary information you could need: ingredients, directions for use, address for the company ... so on so if you do have any issues that should answer all your questions. The bottle is nicely designed and in typical Dove style fashion but that bloody cap at the top is SO hard to get off!!
I have no idea why this is marketted as a shower gel because it does feel and look much more like an runny body lotion than something you wash your body with. The cream is pink in colour and thick yet runny enough to ensure you dont have to use loads each time you want to use it - about a 10p piece worth on a shower puff is usually more than enough for me. Due to the thickness of this it isnt that easy to create a lather with this but after a while this will lather up brilliantly and make LOADS of lather enough for your whole body so keep at it and it will produce so many bubbles.
The one thing Im not totally mad on with this product is the scent. Dont get me wrong it is nice and I do enjoy using this as it lingers on my skin for ages, but its not really anything special. This does just smell like cherry blossom and that is really it - none of the almond scents reached my nose and I couldnt smell any of the distinctive Dove scent which disappointed me as I really love their unique fragrance. The smell is nice and it does linger but its nothing special.
Theres no doubt about it this does make my skin feel really soft due to the thickness and creaminess of the 'gel' and it does make my skin feel much softer than your average shower gel. I dont need to use any extra lotion after Ive washed with this so it saves me using extra cream on skin because this has already done all the amazing work it can do. This does do wonders for my skin and I reckon with prolonged use this would actually combat any dry skin problems I do have but Im not 100% sure Id buy this again if it were up to me. Its good but its not brilliant. I recommend but only slightly, dont go out of your way to buy this one.
Thanks For Reading.

Personally, I've been using Dove products for a while now, as their products are really good for my skin and body, so I know they are a pretty much trusted brand in my world. And actually, I first tried a Dove Body Wash in a hotel in Scotland, when I was away on business years ago, and I actually really liked it, but for some reason only just brought Dove's Body Wash in Cherry Blossom and Almond, to just see if it was as good as the other one I tried, and if it worth it.
The actually Body Wash, is essentially a moisturising cream, with smells added. The cream was easy to apply, and was rich and soft in texture, and was easy to apply around the body without getting into to much mess, as some Body Cream Washes can be, and although with oils in, the cream didn't feel oily on my skin or on my hands why applying, which other Body Washes tried have been, and I really hate it when my skin's all oily.
Applying the Body Cream Wash, I did take note of the smell, it was fairly strong but was not overpowing in the slightest, and with the sweet fruity smell, I really did love it, and I would think lots of people would enjoy the smell too, because it defiantly wasn't an acquired taste, it was a simple, pretty, fruity smell, which is just very pleasant.
The results of the Dove Cream Wash was as I thought they would be, great. The Cream made my skin soft, hydrated and much clearer and cleaner, and the smell lasted quite a while, through the whole day. And as I mainly used the Body Cream Wash on my arms, where I have most problems with, dry and rough skin, my skin instantly felt more softer and smooth, and with my added moisturiser made my arms amazing, and soft. After at the time of writing this, I've been using the Body Cream Wash for around a week now, and I have definitely noticed some great results, as my skin looks much, much clearer and softer, which is exactly what I was hoping for.
I would defiantly recommend this to everyone, as it really has great results, and makes my skin feel amazing, and also would be a great present for someone, as it is really good, and the smell and Cream will suit everyone, and everyone's tastes, and at around £1-2, from most supermarkets, pharmacists and markets, you'll be a fool not to give it a go.
I am quite a fan of Dove products as I have quite dry skin and find after using them that my skin is plesently moisturised and doesn't dry out quickly, so when I recieved this in a gift pack for Christmas, I was very grateful and happy with the results.
The first thing you will notice is the smell. It is very fruity (you can definitely smell the Cherry Blossom), but not too overpowering and quite fragrant without being too sickly sweet. Even after your shower/bath, your skin will still retain this delicious smell, so the smell isn't completely gone after you shower the body wash off.
The actual body wash comes out with a very pale pink colour, with a gorgeous marbled pearl appearence and feels very silky and smooth on your skin. It forms a great lather, so a little goes a long way, and washes off very easily without leaving a sticky residue.
Afterwards my skin felt very soft and didn't dry out.
You can buy these Dove Body Washes in Asda when they are on offer for £1, so they can be obtained at a very reasonable price.
i got this in a double pack for christmas so its not something i would have bought myself. it comes in a pale pink bottle with the blue dove logo we all know. the shower gel itself is very creamy white/pale pink. the scent is my main issue its to be honest quite boring just a run of the mill floral scent very blah. like all dove shower gels it lathers very well and does what it says leaving skin very soft but the triple moisturising is overall a better product in my opinion. im not sure of the cost of the product as like i mentioned it was a gift but i believe dove shower gels are usually anout £1.70. dove shower gels are usually worth the money and do what they say on the tin making them a safe product to buy and are also good for sensitive skin and the whole family.
I don't normally buy Dove products but received this shower gel as part of a set at christmas so decided to give it a go.
The product is called Beauty Care Body Wash Cream Oil, with a cherry and almond scent. Dove claim it is made with 1/4 moisturising cream, and that they have taken 2 of the things skin loves most - oil and moisturising cream - and combined them. The result is a cream richer in natural oils than other shower gels. They claim it is rich in oils but not oily, and deeply moisturising but not heavy.
The product comes in a 250ml pink bottle. Dove products are widely available in most supermarkets and chemists, and this product is currently available at Boots for £2.23. The ingredients do not list any parabens that I can see.
Dove is made by Unilever, who currently test on animals but are commited to eliminating animal testing.
I love the design of this bottle as it is wide at the bottom but tapers in towards the top, where it has a flip lid. You then turn the bottle upside down and squirt out however much you need. I like this as it means I don't have to fiddle with a seperate lid, and its easy to control how much product I want.
I was immediately impressed with the cream as it certainly did appear thick and luxurious. Its consistency and colour is similar to strawberry yoghurt. It has a fresh, fruity smell that is quite strong but not overpowering. I wouldn't say that I could identify the scent of almonds, and the fruity smell is akin to cherry but I wouldn't have necessarily guessed that it was cherry. However it is a lovely smell nonetheless.
I use exfoliating gloves to apply shower gel and I find that I only need a small squirt of this as it quickly turns into a soft, thick lather that certainly does feel creamier and more luxurious than the standard cheap shower gel! Again, the scent is prevalent when using, and it leaves a lovely lingering smell in the bathroom afterwards.
After showering my skin felt soft and almost as if I had already moistursed it. However I did add my usual moisturiser on top in order to seal it in. My skin remained lovely and soft until my next shower, particularly the top of my arms, which can get rough. I put this down to the combination of this shower cream and the exfoliating gloves. The scent lingers to a point, however I occasionally use this instead of soap when I wash my hands as the smell stays on my hands for ages and is very pleasant and summery.
As I said, I didn't buy this and to be honest I don't think it would have occurred to me to buy it myself. But its a luxurious and nicely scented product that leaves my skin soft and fragnanced and I don't think its too expensive. I've been using mine for about a month and theres loads left so it appears to be long lasting. I would be tempted to buy it again but as an occasional treat only as I prefer to use more natural products.
Here's a body wash that moisturizes your skin better than any regular body wash. Dove has embedded skin-loving natural oil in a rich cream - the result is the dreamy-creamy consistency of a cream with the silky-smooth skin feel from an oil.
250ml Usually £1.99
Above is a typical Dove summary. Which is actually quite true. I usually go for Imperial shower gels, but took a chance on this one. It is sweet smelling without being to cloying or to sickly. It foams up rather well, like gels do, but also stays really creamy, smoothing over your skin. After my shower i felt clean and i didn't have that filmy feel that some other products leave behind. It was a lot better than most when it came to moisturizing my skin, leaving it soft and silky, especially on rough feeling skin, on elbows etc.
The only problem come with the lid of the bottle, which can be difficult to lift up, and can easily snap.
