I really like Dove shower/bath products, so when I saw a bar of Dove extra sensitive on offer a while back for 50p I grabbed a couple with the idea that they would be ideal to wash my face with each day. The Dove soaps come in a cardboard box, which looks great on the bathroom shelf and is fully recyclable. On the box I am told that the bar weighs 100g and is manufactured by Unilever. The bar is dermatologically approved, free from fragrance and parabens while still containing ¼ moisturiser. Bizarrely I managed to completely ignore the fact that the selling point of this extra sensitive bar is that it is fragrance free, so when I opened the bar expecting to be greeted by Dove's signature rich, creamy, soapy scent I was very disappointed when my nostrils were met with what I can only describe as a sour milk smell. To me this bar smells of baby sick. Determined not to be put off by the sicky scent I went ahead and soaped the bar up to wash my face. The bar is very comfortable to hold as it is slightly curved and an oval shape, there are no hard corners to prevent you from rolling the bar around your wet hands to work up a lather. This bar seemed to take a bit of extra encouragement to lather up but I soon had a handful of soft bubbles with which to wash my face. The bubbles glided gently over my face, I felt like they were cleaning without drying my skin out. The bubbles rinsed away easily leaving my skin feeling soft and clean without it feeling dry. Unfortunately the sicky scent was just too much for me to bear and I had to wash my face again with my regular facial wash. I popped the bar in the soap dish in the bathroom sink and there it has sat for a very long time, occasionally being used by my Husband when he has a shave. He has not commented on the bizarre scent, but his sense of smell is greatly impaired due to suffering with Rhinitis. This Dove extra sensitive bar does have its good points, it lasts for ages in the soap dish without drying out or going in the other direction and melting at the first drop of water. It soaps up nicely and is comfortable to hold in the hand. The packaging is nice and apart from the smell it had no bad effects on my skin or my Husband's skin so I begrudgingly award it 3 out of 5 stars. Thank you for reading.
This bar is perfect for people who suffer from skin problems, this is sensitive and won't cause irritation, rashes or marks on skin. Has a lovely suttle fragrance to it that smells soft and neutral. The bar is light and soft creating a soft larva froth of bubbles that moistures your skin keeping it looking and feeling healthy. This soap is perfect for using just for hand wash or for using in the shower. The bar is inexpensive and very cheap and can be found a lot on deals such as 4 for £2 in some supermarkets. The dove bar is made from natural ingredients and 1/4 moisturising cream, so it's extra sensitive for skin with nothing inside it that car irritate sensitive skin.
I very rarely use soap as I'm a shower gel fan, however after spotting this in my local asda store the other day whilst shopping with my best mate Melanie as we are late night shopper fans I desided to give it ago. As my skin was going a little dry with the cold weather especially on my face. The product~ Comes in a square box with the Dove hologram in gold. It tells me that it is for exra sensitive skin and contains a quarter morturising cream. It is 100 % fragerance free this is fantastic for people who have skin allergies such like. My Dad has 'OCD' and uses this to wash his hands as they are very sore. He was the one who recommended it to me! Myself using it~ The soap is white and has no smell to it. I used this this morning whilst taking a shower I used it on a soft sponge. It lathers up lovely when applying it to the skin leaving it moisturised and refreshed. my skin has become very dry just lately I'm not sure if it's because I'm now in my mid thirties or if the weather has something to do with it. My skin feels as soft a feathers and all the dry skin has gone. I suffer with Lymphodema in my legs and feet and have very dry skin there I believe if used every day this will help this problem. I highly recommend this product for people of all skin types. Available from all good super markets costing around £1.50 a bar.
I am a great fan of all things Dove - the smell is gorgeous and the fact that all the products contain one quarter moisturising cream means that they really do make my skin feel lovely. One of the products that I am currently using is the Dove Cream Bar - Extra Sensitive which is basically a bar of soap to me and you! Currently a pack containing two 100g bars of this soap cost £1.35 in Boots and, whilst that isn't expensive, I am guessing that it would probably be even cheaper in the supermarket. These two bars are wrapped in a plastic wrapper although you can get individual bars in little cardboard boxes especially when they form part of a gift set. The packaging is mainly white with the gold Dove logo and the word Dove in blue and just the words Cream Bar Extra Sensitive. The other thing on the box is the now familiar logo showing a gold droplet and ripples with the fraction one quarter to remind us that this product has one quarter moisturising cream. The boxes have turquoise sides to distinguish them from the standard Dove Cream Bars which have blue and white packaging. There is a list of ingredients on the packet and also the claim that: "Dove cream bar is a cleansing bar that doesn't dry your skin like soap can, because it is made from neutral cleaning ingredients and ¼ moisturising cream." Interestingly it is a claim that I have actually found to be true and how often can you say that about claims on beauty products? As soon as I opened the packet that wonderful Dove fragrance wafted out. It is a lovely light, sweet smell almost like the smell of a light moisturiser which is logical when you think that it does contain one quarter moisturising cream. The bar itself isn't flat like a standard bar of soap. It is an oval shape with a sort of curved dent in it. The best way I can describe it is to say it is the shape of a spoon. It is a perfect shape to hold in your hands which is useful for a bar of soap don't you think? On each side of the bar is the word Dove and bird logo. When I came to use the bar I was impressed at how much creamy lather I got from it. I know we have soft water here but even so the lather was plentiful and very thick and rich. When I used it in the shower with the shower puff I got even more lather! I don't actually have sensitive skin in general although there are certain areas that are more sensitive than others if you know what I mean! Anyway there was no irritation at all with this bar and of course the more it lathered up the more that lovely fragrance was released. The lather rinsed off easily and thoroughly but the fragrance remained in the air and on my skin too. Every time I moved I got a waft of Dove if you see what I mean! Even thought the bar is extra sensitive the cleaning power is still just as good as any other. Even after working in the garden and getting very dirty a quick wash with Dove and I am nice and clean again. As I said earlier the claim that Dove does not dry the skin is quite true - in my case at least. My skin felt soft, supple and moisturised after I had used this bar not at all dry as it does after I have used traditional soap. In conclusion I would definitely buy this soap again - the smell is gorgeous and it leftovers on my skin, the lather is rich and luxurious, my skin is clean, soft and moisturised after use, there is no irritation and the cost isn't too high. What more do you want?
