This product came as part of a set that I received at Christmas, and I have finally got round to opening and using this one!
I usually like Dove products, as I find them quite "luxurious" - and this body wash is no exception. The product feels really think and creamy which I like, especially compared to some other shower creams that are just a bit watery. However, the luxury comes at a price, as I think the usual cost for this is around £2.50 for 250ml.
The scent of the product is really nice, clean and fresh. It somehow smells a bit more "natural" that some other body wash products, which I like. The scent does seem to linger on the skin a little after a shower too, which is nice, but it doesn't last for too long.
A couple of disadvantages to this product. I am only just starting to feel the difference on my skin, and I am about halfway through the bottle, so it does take a few times to actually feel the skin getting softer. (I know, you can't expect magic in a day but it would be nice wouldn't it? :D) Also, I find the cap really tricky to open with wet hands! (Or with dry hands for that matter!) It flips upwards, but seems to be quite stiff so I do struggle with this! Other than that, the packaging is quite attractive - nice and smooth and curvy.
Overall, I would say that it's worth giving this product a go. If it doesn't work for you, then at least you know. But I really like the clean fresh smell and the creamy texture of the product, which is a bit of a treat in some ways!

The body wash has a creamy consistence, therefore it can be applied and spread well. The body wash allows a thorough and gentle cleansing and provides a fresh skin feeling. The skin feels soft and smooth after use. The body wash is gentle to the skin and provides it with enough moisture.
The body wash has a gentle, fresh scent. The scent is even noticeable after use.
I can recommend the Dove Deeply Nourishing Body Wash, as it allows a gentle cleansing and moisturizes the skin. The body wash provides a smooth skin feeling and leaves a fresh scent.
I always have a lot of toiletries for Christmas. I look forward to using them all, mainly because then I get to review them on here! This is a review of the Deeply Nourishing Body Wash by Dove.
What does the product do?
The main purpose of the product is to wash the body and to leave you feel fresh and clean. The wash contains a blend of moisturisers which hydrate the skin to its deepest layers leaving your skin healthy and soft. It also promises to nourish the skin leaving it looking conditioned and smooth.
How do you use the product?
The product can be used in both the shower and the bath. It can be applied to a sponge and then rubbed onto the skin which makes the product last longer but I prefer to apply it straight to my skin so that I get more of the moisture benefits. Once you have massaged it into the skin, it can be rinsed away again.
Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a white plastic bottle which is shaped like a tear drop. It has the dove logo and some extra information about the product on the back. It has a flip top lid which is easy to open and close, even when your hands are wet and it is easy to dispense the wash from the bottle. The body wash will cost you around £2 for 250ml of the product. It can be bought from stores such as Boots and Superdrug, large supermarkets and also from a range of online websites.
Application and Performance
The product is white in colour and has the thickness of a body lotion but with a gel consistency. The aroma of the product is fresh and smell a bit laundry products and I can smell a sharpness like lemon in it. It isn't too strong or overpowering so shouldn't be off to anyone and it is quite a unisex fragrance.
The product is easily squeezed from the bottle and it glides nicely over the skin. It does feel hydrating as soon as it touches you and is has a silky consistency. It lathers a little as you massage it into the skin although you don't get the bubbles like you do when you use a sponge but this doesn't bother me at all. It feels like it is doing a good job of moisturising the skin and also cleaning it at the same time. The formula is gentle and it hasn't irritated my skin or caused me any discomfort. The product is easily rinsed off the skin.
Once out of the bath, my skin does feel much softer than it did before. It relieves feelings of tightness and dryness, and my skin both looks and feels really fresh and clean. It doesn't become as soft as an actual body moisturiser would get it but it is one of the best hydrating body washes that I've used over the years. It feels soft for a while after use and the lovely fresh aroma lingers on the skin lightly.
All in all, this is a lovely body wash by Dove which smells fresh and gets you nice and clean. It is silky and gentle on the skin, and leaves my skin nicely hydrated and soft after use. You don't need to use much in order to get the desired results and it isn't too pricey so it's getting full marks from me.
Dove deeply nourishing body wash
Dove is one of my favourite body care brands, along with Lush, Rituals and Soap and Glory. I love the quality and scent of their brands mostly, I have tried quite a lot of their products. I have now finished up this product so here is the review.
- Product description (from Tesco.com)
"Only Dove Body Wash has NutriumMoistureTM our unique blend of moisturisers enriched with skin natural lipids, which absorbs into the skin to nourish while you shower. Used every day, it helps restore skin's strength from the inside for longer lasting more beautiful skin." See Tesco.com for a full list of ingredients.
- About the product
I bought the 250ml bottle, I don't think it comes in other sizes. It may be a new product going by the 'new' sticker on the front - I have tried quite a few of the original dove scented body washes (such as the triple moisture one) and this is basically just the same, in my opinion. It contains quite a lot of ingredients, most of which are not natural, to my knowledge.
- Using the product
I use this as I would any other body wash/shower gel - with a bath lily/scrunchie. I use a small amount as this product does lather up to a good extent, in my opinion. The bubbles release the gorgeous Dove original/classic scent which I love! The dove scent just makes me think of clean linen and holidays, for some reason, love the scent - it is very fresh and clean but not in a chemical kind of way. This product lathers up well and it feels smooth, nourishing and gentle on my skin. I find that it doesn't irritate my skin at all. It rinses off easily leaves no residue although the scent remains for a short period of time. I feel like this product cleans my skin well but unlike some products, it doesn't dry out my skin. Overall, a good moisturising body wash with a gorgeous scent!
- Price and availability
I bought this from Superdrug a while ago as it was on offer, I think I paid about £1.99 for it - it is currently priced at £3.99 on Tesco.com for 500ml, £2.39 on superdrug for 250ml and £1.20 on boots for 250ml - prices as of the 5/5/13.
*Quick and easy to use and rinse off
*Gorgeous fresh scent
*Lathers well and it doesn't irritate my skin
*Leaves my skin moisturised, smooth and soft
*Usually on offer, widely available
*None, in my opinion!

Dove Deeply Nourishing Body Wash
Being a massive fan of all things barginous I recently picked up two bottles of this when it was priced at 50p at Morrisions. (Unfortunately it has now gone back up in price - but it can be got in shops for £1 - so still great value for 250ml)...
Personally I sometimes suffer with sensitive and dry skin, and as such this was the perfect product for me. When you open the bottle it is filled with a lovely white thick creamy product. It has a scent that I tend to associate with most dove moisturisers that aren't specifically fragranced with a particular scent, and as such I feel it can be considered unisex. (To be fair so did my boyfriend).
The lovely creamy texture feels great rubbed directly onto skin, and it also works well in a shower pouffe. It washes of easily, and leaves a gentle scent behind, and my skin after use is beautifully soft. I personally feel that it works best of applied with a pouffe, as use less, and it washes of the skin a little easier.
The bottle claims to moisturise deep down with Nutrim Mousture (TM) - something that should keep or skin softer for longer... And to be fair I suppose it did. This is the perfect product for use in the summer when we all have a little bit more skin on show than normal, and I personally will be taking a bottle of this on holiday to keep me super soft in the sun (if we get any)...
I highly recommend this product as it really does do the job well. Definitely 5*'s from me.
I am not at all brand loyal when it comes to toiletries and normally opt for whatever is on offer. This is certainly the case for bathing/shower products and my last purchase was of the Dove deeply nourishing body wash which was on a special offer in Asda. I paid just £1.00 for a 250ml bottle which I thought was great value for a branded body wash.
Dove is a well know toiletry brand which is widely available and is made by Unilever. Dove products all contain moisturisers called 'NutriumMoisture' which they claim that they 'absorb into the skin to nourish deep down'.
This Dove body wash comes in a tear drop shaped white plastic bottle with flip top lid. The label on the front of the bottle displays the Dove logo as well as a background image of a pool of moisturiser. The label on the back of the bottle gives a description of how the body wash works as well as telling you the full ingredients listings. There are not any directions for use, so they must presume that everyone will know this which to be fair I would not have really looked for these anyway as I think it is quite self-explanatory.
I have been using this body wash for just over a week now in my morning shower on a body puff and I will say that I have mixed feelings about it. First of all I love the fragrance, all Dove products have quite a subtle fragrance a little like baby powder and this body wash is the same. I find it very pleasant as it smells lovely when using but does not linger on my skin after I have dried myself so does not clash with any scent I choose to wear. It is also easy to dispense from the bottle and has a good thick consistency, with it being quite a thick, creamy white liquid. But for me the downside is that it does not lather very well, even with use on a body puff it is difficult to get much of a lather at all which to an extent makes me feel that my skin is not totally clean after use although it is left feeling nice and soft which must be the effect of the moisturiser contained within it. My skin does feel very good after using this body wash and although I suffer from eczema at times using this has not caused any adverse reaction and has actually helped my skin feel more moisturised.
Overall if this body wash had a little bit more lather I think it would be fantastic so it is one that I will be looking out for having the 'new improved' logo on before I try it again...I just need more bubbles!
Dove deeply nourishing body wash
Dove Body Wash promises to nourish the skin. It apparently has a unique blend of moisturisers enriched with skin-natural lipids which are able to be completely absorbed to nourish deep down. It can be used every day and is suitable for all skin types.
PRODUCT AND AVAILABILITY...
The body wash comes in a 250ml plastic bottle and is also available in the 500ml size. It has information about the product on the back and a flip up/down lid. To get the product out the bottle can simply be tipped upside down or if its not coming out easily, then a little squeeze or shake should do the trick.
The product itself has a pleasant fruity smell and is white in colour. It isn't especially thick which means that it does come out of the bottle easily so care should be taken that not too much of the body wash is dispensed.
This is a body wash and directions tend to suggest that it is used to wash in the shower. I however have been using it in the bath. I pour as some of the product under the running water and wait for the bubbles. There aren't too many bubbles but it does release a pleasant smell into the bathroom.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY...
Widely available the product is available at chemists and supermarkets and usually costs around £2 for 250ml, although there are often special offers on the body wash.
I do tend to like the Dove as mid range bath and body products and this one hasn't disappointed. It leaves my skin feeling cleansed and hasn't dried out my skin although its not as moisturising as I expected it to be and moisturiser is still definitely required after bathing. Several members of the family have used this body wash and no one has suffered any adverse skin reactions, so I would definitely buy it again if I spotted it on special offer.
Although its not thick and creamy it does produce sufficient bubbles for a relaxing bath but to achieve this then quite a lot of the product is needed, so its not as long lasting as a lot of similar products.
Worth a try if on offer- gentle to skin and pleasant aroma.
Thanks for reading
I honestly don't think manufacturers know what to do next with products to make them more interesting and new. Dove is a classic one, my latest freebie to drop through the letter box was Dove Deeply Nourishing Body Wash. Dove claim this one will deeply nourish your skin from the inside to create beautiful looking skin. Not quite sure I was totally convinced but my little 55ml bottle was free and I had nothing to lose.
The Deeply Nourishing Body Wash comes in the same style curved bottle as most of the Dove body washes do. Its made from white recyclable plastic and has the word Dove along with the little bird logo in gold on the front. The words Deeply Nourishing and Nourishing Body Wash are written clearly below this. The picture on the front is a swirl of the creamy wash. At the bottom of the bottle it informs the customer that this will provide your skin with "deep absorbing nourishment with nutrium moisture". This is what is supposed to penetrates the nourishment to skin layers below the surface.
The body wash is white in colour and feels creamy to touch and it has the lovely fresh smell that is common to a lot of Dove products, sweet and floral.
I used the Dove Deeply Nourishing body wash in the shower and found that not a lot of the thick liquid was needed to produce a sponge full of lather which is thick, soft and creamy. I washed with the body wash and felt clean and refreshed. The lather rinsed away easily and left no scummy residue around the bottom of the bath.
When I had dried, my skin did feel soft and slightly moisturised, I didn't find the body wash dried my skin out all. It was a good quality body wash as is the case with most of the Dove body washes.
I used my little sample bottle for several days in both the shower and the bath and although I found it worked well as a body wash I personally couldn't see any extra benefits to my skin. It didn't feel or look any different. Dove recommend using this daily for best results and I would assume as they are sending out 55ml sized sample bottles this would be enough to see a difference to your skin but unfortunately I didn't.
I wouldn't not recommend this body wash as it cleans your skin very well, doesn't dry it out and the lovely fragrance tends to linger a while, however I'm personally not convinced that this creates beautiful skin from within, but that was my experience with the product.
I got my Dove Deeply Nourishing body wash as a freebie but if you are tempted to try it it is currently in Tesco where a 500ml bottle will cost you £3.90 however do shop around as Asda are selling the same size for £2.00.
I will give this 4 stars as sadly I didn't notice any extra benefits to my skin.
I recently had the chance to receive a free sample of Dove Deeply Nourishing Body Wash and it was so good that, once I had finished using it, I promptly went out and bought myself the full sized version - so that sample worked exactly how Dove intended it to then!
To be fair I have always been a fan of Dove products whether it is body wash, deodorant, hair products or moisturiser. I love the way they all feel so soft on my skin - I can really feel the benefit of the moisturising element in every product.
The current cost of 250ml of this glorious body wash is just £1.50 at Superdrug although the 'normal' price is supposed to be £2.29. I put the word normal in inverted commas because there always seems to be an offer on Dove Body Wash somewhere so paying the full price would not normally be something I would do! Incidentally the price for 500ml at Tesco's is currently £3.90 with no special offer on at the moment.
So, since I have found it to be so good, I suppose I had better tell you all about it!
This body wash comes in a white plastic container with a bright blue flip top cap. The container itself is a sort of teardrop shape and is quite flat being only about an inch or so deep.
The front of the container has the Dove logo in blue with the gold bird beneath and the words 'Dove Deeply Nourishing - Nourishing Body Wash'.
The other wording on the front of the container appears at the bottom right and tells us this - 'deep absorbing nourishment with Nutrium Moisture'. Now, I don't know about you, but I think these manufacturers make up names for various additions to their products in the hope that we will think that we can't live without them!
You will also find all the usual information on the back - telling you how Dove will leave your skin feeling silky and smooth due to the one quarter moisturising cream and in this case Nutrium Moisture!
There is also a very long list of ingredients most of which I've never heard of!
The Fragrance and Sensation
As with all Dove products this body wash is one quarter moisturising cream and it is obvious. The thick creamy liquid feels lovely on my skin and lathers well in the shower and I only had to use a small amount to get the best results too! The 55ml sample pack lasted me easily for three showers and there was lots of thick, creamy lather each time.
As I have come to expect with Dove products the smell of this one is really lovely. It is a light flowery fragrance that fills the shower as I am using the body wash and then lingers on the skin and in the air after the shower is finished.
It is easy enough to use - you just have to flip open the lid, upend the container and squeeze it catching a small amount of body wash in your free hand. As soon as I began to apply it to my skin I found the silky, moisturising sensation very obvious as the liquid lathered up into a thick, creamy sensation.
Value for Money
As I said I have found that I only need a small amount of this body wash to create a lot of seriously good lather - I know our water is quite soft which helps but this is much better than a lot of shower products that I have tried. I would have to say that, even if was to buy this at full price, I would still consider that I had got value for money.
The free sample did exactly what it was supposed to do - it convinced me how good this product is and I went out and bought some. I will be buying more in the future too.
As for whether it contains this new Nutrium Moisture who knows - in fact who knows if such a thing even exists! The way I see it the product works extremely well, smells lovely and is good value for money and that'll do for me!
Recommended by me then!
