“ Brand: Dove / Cleanser / Type: Body Wash / Suitable for: Body / What it does: Cleanses, Refreshes, „
Like a lot of women I got Dove body sets for Christmas but last year I got a more unusual one containing the fresh touch body wash. Looking on the Internet I found the price of this product really varies, you can buy it at Superdrug.com for 99p but Boots for £2.09 for a bottle containing 250ml so seeing this I will watch out for it on offers.
The product comes in a sleek curved bottle in very pale green with had a pearlised finish with a flip top lid, on the front is the Dove logo and the fragrance is cucumber and green tea. It states on the back of the bottle "it contains a combination of refreshing cucumber extract and skin calming green tea. As the wonderful fragrant lather surrounds you, your skin is indulged with a caring sensation of freshening moisturisers" The only other things on the bottle are a list of ingredients most of which I have never heard of although the main ingredient is aqua and contact details for Unilever who produce the product. There aren't even any direction for use which I found really strange.
To dispense the product there is a largish hole under the flip top lid, you simply squeeze a small amount into your hand and lather up, the liquid is quite thick and also very pale green and has a lovely fresh smell. Once under a little water the cream lathers up really well and even better if you use it with a shower puff, after using the product your skin feels soft and clean and also does hold the scent of the product for a couple of hours.
I really like this product, of all the Dove body washes it has to be my favourite scent and the bottle does last as the cream is so thick and luxurious, it leaves the skin lovely and soft. I would recommend this product and will certainly buy it again.
My eldest daughter is quite a fan of Dove bodywashes & I tried this Fresh Touch one last night to see what she liked about them & was pleasantly surprised with the results.
The plastic bottle is slightly different from the picture as I think they've been updated, but it clearly shows the famous Dove logo & bird & is described as an 'active moisturising cream' which contains cucumber & green tea.
The bottle is 250ml & I bought it for £1 from one of our many pound shops but I think you can buy it from the 99p ones or on offer if you multi buy.
It's a refreshing green colour with a flip-top cap & it's easy to squeeze out as little or as much as you want which means there's little waste.
All the ingredients are listed fairly clearly on the reverse - there are a lot but all gobbledegook to me - I couldn't see any natural ingredients listed & therefore it may be strong for some skins? In my opinion I think it's a bit misleading to state on the front that it contains cucumber & green tea & yet these 2 ingredients aren't listed,or, if I've failed to see them amongst the benzoic acid, lactic acid, other acids various glycols, sodiums etc! - a bit worrying if you have sensitive skin?
The product itself is quite thin - not runny - but not creamy. It smells very strong when you first open it, but after use it becomes much more subtle & is very pleasant as it smells so fresh & lasts a long time after your bath or shower.
The body wash makes a good lather & it's quite economical to use as you only need to use a little of the product.
My skin felt 'squeaky clean' afterwards, soft & moisturised so I was very pleased with the results & would recommend it for those who don't have sensitive skin.
- attractive product which is easy to use.
- economical as you only need a little.
- makes skin feel clean, soft, moisturised & smelling fresh.
- a good product but the ingredients make me wonder whether or not this would be suitable for all skin types?
I don't really care what kind of body wash I use, but last time when I was shopping I though I would try some dove products. They had a very good deal on this one. Yeah I had to buy like three big bottles, but at least I knew it would last for long time and I would have a extra bottle for guest bathroom.
Dove body wash is in green bottle with the name of the product and the scent. On the back side of the bottle are listed all ingredients with customer service phone number and their website.
I don't think I need to tell you how use it. But I would like to mention how little you can use for all body. Just a little drop on wet pouf or washcloth and you have a rich foam in a second. With just a one drop you will have enough foam to wash all your body.
The scent is very pleasant and reminds me summer. This body wash has a cucumber and green tea scent, which might not seems so good, but it actually smells very refreshing and after you wash your body, you feel really clean.
The consistence of this body wash is very thick and creamy and it feels like you are using lotion. After you look on the front side of bottle better, you find one important information, that this body wash has 1/4 of hydrating lotion and you can really feel it on your skin after showering. It makes you skin soft and very hydrated.
I have buy whole package for $10 and it include 2 big bottles (710ml) and one small bottle (200ml) what might be just perfect for traveling.
I don't see any disadvantage in this products, it smells great, feels good, but I believe for someone can be the smell too strong and maybe not that great like for me.
Having seen a few reviews for the new Dove range of Fresh Touch shower creams/gels I decided that the next time I saw them on offer I would give them a go.
Whilst in Morrisons they had them buy one get one free, so for £1.65 I got 2 bottles, one of each kind. The one I am going to review is the Cucumber and green tea fragrance.
The bottle holds 250ml and is a pale green colour, it has a picture of a slice of cucumber and a green leaf on the bottle and the famous Dove symbol as well as all the information about what fragrance it is.
The bottle is a flip top which is quite easy to open in the shower, however due to the rounded tip of the flip lid you cannot stand this one up side down when it is nearly finished. The bottle is also opaque so you can't quite see how much is left, however this is the same as the rest of the Dove range.
The shower cream
I would class this as a shower cream, not a gel due to the very thick and creamy consistency of it. It is a pale green colour and as soon as you open the lid you can smell the ingredients. I was expecting a really fresh and zingy smell and was a little disappointed by how sweet it was.
The cream lathers up very well so you only need a small amount even if using your hands to wash instead of a puff thingy! It does leave your skin feeling soft, I find that the scent disappears fairly quickly, although for me this is a good thing.
I was disappointed that it was not more of fresh smell, it didn't wake me up as I thought was the point of this product, and to be honest I wouldn't bother buying this particular fragrance again. The smell of the cream reminds me of apple and melon flavoured sweets and is just a bit too sickly for me first thing in the morning, I think in future I will stick to the triple moisture cream.
I am a big fan of Dove products, they are kind to my over-sensitive skin and they all tend to smell really lovely not to mention the price is always quite reasonable when taking into consideration that other products in similar ranges are quite expensive.
I purchased Dove fresh touch body wash when I found it on offer in my local Tesco as part of a But One Get One Free, or Bogof as I simply refer to these offers. I would usually purchase Dove Triple Moisturising Body Wash but as it was out of stock on this particular day, I decided to opt for this new product.
Dove Fresh Touch Body Wash comes in a pale green bottle and it instantly stands out amongst the other Dove products in this range because of the colour, the bottle I purchased was a 375ml bottle and I paid £2 because I got two bottles. Like the pale green bottle the liquid inside is also of a pale green nature which I expected it to be because of ingredients used. Like other Dove products this is a flip top lid which is easy to open and close and to release some of the bodywash soap, you simply turn the bottle upside down and squeeze gently. If you over squeeze you will find your hand is covered with more than enough bodywash.
I prefer the flip top lid products because the lid itself when closed is unlikely to open on its own and it means that as you reach the final remaining remnants of the bodywash, leaving the bottle standing upside down in a convenient place allows you to use pretty much all of the lotion inside, whereas with other products you end up wasting some.
The first thing you notice when it comes to using this bodywash is that it is a quite thick consistency, again if you are a fan of Dove products you wont be surprised to learn that it the same texture as other products within this range. The one thing which makes this one stand out is the instant smell you get when you first come to use this cream and it is the smell of one of the main ingredients - Cucumber. Cucumber, as well as being full of vitamin E, is for me a smell which is linked with relaxation and there is nothing more relaxing than lying in your bath with cool crisp cucumber slices on your eyes to help reduce the puffiness of a late night/early morning and to help you de-stress. A lot of beauty products like to promote the fact that they have added Vitamin E and it plays a huge role in helping to make your skin look and appear younger. It also helps to keep your skin in good condition and it helps to increase the growth of new skin cells which your body needs to keep it looking good and feeling good. So I am quite happy with the smell and when used in this way it acts as an excellent soother and conditioning ingredient to help revitilise your skin leaving it looking good and feeling soft. Also within this product you will find green tea which is becoming more popular because of the antioxidant properties within which it contains and they help to protect your skin and remove any harnful baceria which may be lurking on your skin which could cause irritations. So with that I have to admit I didn't notice any kind of tea smell as such but the cucumber was definitley noticable.
When it came to using this bodywash, which incidentally you can use in the bath or the shower, you only need to use a small amount, because it is quite a thick texture it spreads very easily and over a much bigger area of the body than many products. I was really impressed with the lather I got from this bodywash in comparison to other Dove products which on the whole tend not to produce very much. With this product I didn't have to put too much effort in for it to appear and I found that two applications or a palm full of this lotion was enough to wash my entire body from tip to toe. When I am using any sort of body cream, body wash and so on I always rub the cream between my palms before applying it to my body and then in circular motions I massage my skin. By doing this I am also giving my legs, thighs and other body parts a good massage. Once you have finished and are all lathered up you simply wash yourself with warm water. Once you have done you the cucumber smell is definitely still noticeable and once you have patted yourself dry you will still notice that smell lingering on your soft smooth skin.
The one thing I simply love about Dove products are the after effects on your skin. This bodywash left my skin feel refreshed and by that I mean I felt relaxed and my skin was soft and smooth everywhere and it smelt clean. The one thing Dove has going for it where I am concerned is the after smell and the fact it lingers on your skin, it is very rare to find a product to leave you feeling so clean and refreshed.
Now as I have sensitive skin and I like to really take of it to avoid any cause of irritation to my skin and I tend to use Dove products because I have found they are gentle on my skin and do not contain any ingredients which in other products cause slight irritations and blotches.
I find a 375ml bottle which I bought from Tesco lasts me a good few months even though I am using it every day and sometimes twice a day especially if the weather has been really hot and sticky and I am in need of some quick refreshment for my skin.
Overall I love this product it is really good and kind to my skin, it smells amazing and it leaves me skin feeling conditioned to the point of being soft and smooth to the touch. For anyone wanting to try a Dove product for the first time you would be impressed with this.
Dove are a well known and reputable brand, and I would always feel reassured buying their products, I have never found I have had any problems with them before and have enjoyed using many of their products, and have happily used them for several years.
Dove are owned by Unilever, who also own other beauty brands such as Lynx, Ponds, Sunsilk, Sure, Vaseline, Impluse, Lux and Timotei. As well as owning these beauty brands Unilever own a variety of other brands such as Persil, Surf and many other household brands, they even own Pot Noodle, Vienetta, Slimfast and PG Tips, to name a few. They seem to own everything!
Dove Fresh Touch Body Wash
Dove Fresh Touch Body Wash, is as the name states a body wash for use in the shower or bath, or even as just a handwash. To give it the 'Fresh Touch' it contains a combination of cucumber extract and green tea, leaving your skin feeling clean and fresh.
Dove's Fresh Touch Range is one of their new ones and proving popular already. Along with the Fresh Touch Body Wash you can also purchase Fresh Touch Beauty Creme Bar, Fresh Touch Body Lotion, Fresh Touch Facial Cleanser and Fresh Touch Deodrant.
Why I purchased the product
I first brought this body wash when it was on offer in Sainsbury's, I decided on this as I already use Dove's Fresh Touch Deodrant and I love the smell of that, so though this would be a great product to try, to have the refreshing smell all over.
Dove Fresh Touch Body Wash comes in a pale green bottle. The soapy liquid comes from a hole in the top of the flip top lid when the bottle is turned upside down, I do find that sometimes this gets a little stiff and you really have to get your nail underneath it to get it to flip, not a massive problem, but does take a little longer to open than you'd like. The bottle however easily dispenses the body wash with just a little squeeze, as you don't need to much. When the bottle is running out, if left upside down, then the remaining product easily comes out, ensuring you don't loose a lot of the body wash.
Use & Effects
Use this body wash in the shower or in the bath. To use, apply a small amout of the 'wash' into your hands, rub together then gently massage into your body, then wash off with warm water - simple as that. The body wash is easy to apply and is just as easy to remove, it isn't hard to rinse off at all and doesn't leave your skin feeling sticky or if there is still a residue left on. Another thing I like to do with this product is use it in the bath, as I would a bubble bath, now it doesn't really create bubbles but it's lovely to have a soak in and your whole body feels refreshed afterwards. I also sometimes add a little of this into a foot spa, when I am doing myself a pedicure, it is relaxing and soothing to my feet and makes them feel light and pampered.
The first thing you notice when you use this product is the lovely, refreshing and crisp aroma of cucumber, now this doesn't sound that appealing but it really is relaxing. If you have ever used any of the other Fresh Touch products, this body wash smells the same. It is a clean and fresh smell, hense the name and this is what you want from a body wash - to feel fresh and clean afterwards. Until I brought this, Green Tea wasn't a fragrance I was familiar with and I was a little wary about at first but since smelling this I can see that the cucumber and green tea aromas go really well together. It isn't too overpowering or strong, it is just a gentle aroma, which makes your experience revitilising and refreshing. It is quite a neutral smell, so would appeal to both females and males, so you men don't have to worry about smelling too girlie! Some body washes that smell gorgeous don't always leave you feeling really fresh and clean after use like this one does. The experience leaves you feeling pampered. Without being overpowering, the aroma is perfect for waking you up in the mornings and leaving you feeling refreshed before a hard days work, it's also great for relaxing you at the end of a hard day, it serves both uses.
So apart from the lovely aroma, what does Cucumber and Green Tea actually do for your skin? Cucumber is full of Vitamin E, which has great healing and soothing properties. It is great for irritation and soothes whilst moisturising and hydrating your skin. Cucumber naturally tones the skin - restoring the pH levels and minimising the pores. Vitamin E also has anti-ageing properties in and helps to prevent cellular damage and maintains the elasticity and collagen production in your skin which helps to reduce visible signs of ageing. Green Tea calms irritation and swelling in your skin, this is why it is fine over my ecezma and it relieves sore and swollen ankles, making them feel light and nourished. Green Tea is also a natural astringent, so it has healing and antibacterial properties for your skin. This removes any bacteria from your skin, and is brilliant to use on oily skin types, as it dries up excess oil. The body wash does not contain any alcohol, helping it be gentle to the skin and ensuring it is not dried out. All this makes the body wash suitable for all skin types. Dry, as it has hydrating and moisturising content. Sensitive, as it is gentle and has soothing properties. Oily, as it has a natural astringent which dries up excess oil and helps prevent bacteria or spots. Mature, as Vitamin E has anti-ageing properties. It is an all round brilliant product, suitable for anyone, so if someone in your house has different skin to you, then you don't need to worry about buying several different products to suit, this suits all.
As with most Dove products, this body wash is thick, rich and creamy and it appears clear with hints of pale green in colour. It wasn't oily in texture or too liquidous, it was a perfect consistency and didn't run off your hands before you managed to apply it to yourself. It doesn't lather up too much, but this doesn't stop it doing a thorough job. It leaves you feeling really clean and this feeling lasts, which is the main thing you want a body wash to do. When I have a shower and use this, I can faintly smell the aroma of the cucumber after a day, so it lasts and you don't have to worry about applying extra deodrant or the freshness not lasting as it will last you all day. Although it doesn't lather that much, you don't need to use alot of it, as a little goes a long way. So you don't get the bubbles, but you do get a non-lathering soapy texture on your skin, with a few bubbles in, and you can feel it cleansing your skin as it feels refreshing to it and you can smell it doing it's job. I don't mind if a body wash doesn't lather, I don't tend to find they ever really do on me, so for someone else, they may have a different experience.
It is gentle to your skin I have ecezma on my skin and this body wash does not irritate it in any way. It gently glides over these areas without making them red or inflamed while cleaning them making sure no infection occurs. It is even gentle enough to use on your face without drying it out or leaving it feeling tight, but I don't really like using soap products on my face, I will tend to use a specific facial wash. I have known my boyfriend to use this on his face however with no problem, he feels it cleanses it sufficiently for him. If you do use it on your face, just be careful not to get it in your eyes, as this stings, and for quite a while afterwards too. Even if you have just shaved your legs or underarms, or if you have a cut on your body, this body wash is still gentle enough to not aggravate that and it is gentle enough for daily usage.
Although it is a soap based product it doesn't dry out your skin like most soap based products do. It leaves your skin soft, smooth and hydrated after use and not tight feeling, especially on your face. It is moisturising to your skin as a quarter of it has fresh, hydrating lotion, but I don't think this is enough to not need to use body lotion afterwards. I have, however noticed that after repeated use your skin starts to hold the moisture more, and doesn't require moisturising as much afterwards, the more you use the body wash, the smoother and softer your skin becomes. It does help if you exfoliate whilst in the shower too as your skin will absorb the moisturising properties in this body wash alot easier.
I find a 250ml bottle lasts me several months with nearly daily usage, by two people, as you only need to use a small amount, I find this is quite a long time for a body wash to last, as most of them you end up having to use so much, that it runs out in no time, but not with this, ensuring you get more for your money.
Price & Availability
I purchased mine a few months ago from Sainsbury's on offer but you can pick it up for £2.24 for a 250ml bottle from there or any supermarket or store such as Boots or Superdrug. Tesco's stock it for £1.29, which is a good price to pay for it. You can also pick up travel sized 30ml bottles, which are great for taking away for one night or on holiday or to even use as a tester to see if you like it, but you're better of buying the 250ml for the price. The 30ml bottles are priced at around 99p. I always find Superdrug have good offers on these product so is worth checking out.
I'm sure everyone has seen a recent Dove advert. Dove have vowed to only use 'Real Women' in all their advertising campaigns from now on. Now, this is nice to see, a non stereotype beautiful lady as everyone does still need to feel as beautiful as anyone else, but standard models are real women too, everyone is different and everyone is beautiful. That is the message Dove is trying to project and has proved popular with their customers and also encouraged new ones to use their products.
I am happy to continue using this body wash, along with my deodrant, I love the crisp, fresh smell, it makes me feel clean throughout the day. I would recommend it to anyone who loves that fresh, clean feeling, and who doesn't? It is a fragrance that is suitable for both men and women, as is gentle to sensitive skin, so it is suitable for all.
I'm forever on the look out for BOGOF offers and end up with quite a lot of toiletries to plough my way through, some I have deemed as being good buys, others not, even with the offer but this body wash by Dove definitely falls in to the 'good buy' category.
~ Price ~
£2.24 for a 250ml bottle but if you take a trip to Tesco they are currently have a half price offer on a range of Dove Body washes.
~ Availability ~
I got mine from Boots when it was a 'new' product, hence the initial / promotional BOGOF offer.
~ What is it? ~
Quite simply, it's a Body Wash with a combination of refreshing cucumber extract and green tea.
~ My experience ~
On opening the flip top lid you are instantly greeted by a wonderfully refreshing, crisp fragrance. I love the smell of cucumber so the combination of this and the green tea works really well together and Dove has certainly got the smell off to a 't'!
The soapy liquid comes from a hole in the top of the flip top lid when the bottle is turned upside down.
It's a clear substance which just smells great. I initially used this with my hands, gently rubbing it in to my skin. It did lather but when I used this with a flannel or a bath lily there was so much more lather and I found that I needed less of it from the bottle.
It makes you feel very clean and well moisturised thanks to the fact that a quarter of it has fresh, hydrating lotion and you can certainly tell. I have found in the past that some products clean me but sometimes it's at the expense of moisture and they can dry my skin out..........Not so with this.
So out of the bath all clean and moisturised and no need to apply the thick layer of Nivea moisturiser that I sometimes have to do. The smell of the product, which I love, stayed on my skin during the night and the next morning I can still always smell it very faintly. But fear not, it's not an overpowering heavy smell it's light and very fresh smelling.
For more information on Dove products visit www.dove.com
They have a range of soaps, shampoos, body washes etc which are all intended to clean and moisturise which is a good thing for someone like me, whose skin is prone to drying out in the winter months.
If you love fresh, clean smells of green tea and cucumber and you want your body to be cleaned as well as moisturised then it's really well worth keeping an eye out for this product. I'll be stocking up again when I see another offer.
