I picked up a bottle of this down in Savers the other month. I didn't really need it at the time, but since SHower Gel, or Body wash as this one is called never goes to waste then I just got it. I like to buy things when they are on offer and this cost £1.19 at the time which was a saving of about 50p-70p depending on where you buy this. The bottle is 150ml.
The bottle looks like the Dooyoo picture. Not the most interesting bottle or colour of bottle i've ever seen, but who cares about the outside of the bottle, it's what is inside that counts.
I use SHower Gel on a Shower Puff and although I haven't used the whole bottle up yet I would say you get quite a few goes out of this. I always put a decent sized blob on the sponge for lots of lather, and suppose I don't need to use quite as much as I do. At a guess I would say this would give at least 20 goes, but I may be way out with my estimations.
I have used this scent in the Deo range and like it as it smells clean and that bit fresh. I like fresh smelling Body Washes, but would the smell be a bit sickly? Since this is Cucumber and Green Tea I didn't want to smell really Tea like, although I know Green Tea is that bit different than a Tetley Tea bag. This was nice, quite subtle and made my skin smell nice and fresh. It softened as well and I will be buying this scent again.
It cleans, a little goes a long way, you feel fresh and moisturised. What more do you want from a Body Wash?
As I get migraines induced by floral scents, I am always looking for products that don't have these tones. Really hard to find- you either get the same old strawberry or orange fruity smells or you get something really manly such as mint or sea breeze!
So, when I spotted this on offer buy one get one free at Tesco, I thought it sounded really lovely- it has a cucumber and green tea scent, which smells really clean and fresh. It is quite uplifting when using it in the morning, especially if you use it with the matching deoderant in the same line as well. I thought this was a great concept, as it stops you from overpowering your shower gel by layering a different scent over the top. The tones in this are probably unisex, as it doesn't smell overpowering and would suit either sex.
The bottle is easy to use in the shower. It doesn't have a hanging handle, but I never use these anyway- I think they look messy hanging up! You open the top easily with a flick under the lid. This is easy to do with wet fingers and doesn't lead you to break a nail like some shower gel lids.
The gel itself is thick and pearlescent green and doesn't run off easily with the water, instead lathering up into nice thick bubbles.
I was really impressed with this product, as it keeps me feeling fresh all day and it is a great price that won't break the bank at £2 each in Tesco.
I tried the cucumber and green tea variety of Dove Go Fresh. In my experience, the two principle fragrances; cucumber and green tea tend to be very subtle when used in cosmetics and toiletries and so I was expecting this shower gel to be fairly understated. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it actually has quite an invigorating fragrance, ideal for using in the morning. True to its name, the gel smells and feels fresh. It has enough of a punch to wake me up and help me feel clean and ready for the day but it is not overpowering. The packaging is perfectly shower-friendly. The flip top lid is easy to use and allows you to control how much gel you dispense. Along with its excellent moisturising qualities, for me, the best thing about Dove Go Fresh, is the consistency of the gel. It is thick and gloopy enough to lather up with or without the aid of a sponge, and a little goes long way, making the product excellent value for money in my book especially if like myself, you manage to purchase it for £1 when on special offer.
I have been using Dove products for the last 2 years, and I now struggle to find brands that are up to the same quality as Dove. I use this, along with other variations of the Dove body wash, daily. It comes in a green, oval, plastic bottle with a dark green lid on top. It is only available in one size, 250ml, and is available in most large supermarkets, as well as Boots and Superdrug.
The body wash itself is a good consistency, thicker than most body washes I have tried so will not easily leak out of the bottle. It is easy enough to rub straight onto the skin of a sponge to produce a rich lather. The Dove Go Fresh range is a very rich, fruity scent great for that pick me up in the morning. The product contains cucumber and green tea, both of which are good for the skin, but I find the product smells more like lime and apples, still giving it a very fresh scent. This body wash is 'a quarter mosituring' and it certainly lives up to that title. After using the body wash my skin is left silky smooth and soft almost like 'a babies bum' as it locks in all the moisture. The product is pH balanced and gently on the skin, making it suitable for those with sensitive skin.
As I have already mentioned, the product only comes in one sized, which is available at Boots £2.59 (£1.04 per 100ml), which means it is certainly not the cheapest body wash on the market, but with Dove you are paying for the quality. As a student I tend to stock up on them when there is an offer on, and at the moment they are buy one get one free in Boots until 23/02/10, making them certainly a worthwhile purchase.
I highly recommend the product, and believe it is worth the full prices, but if you can get it cheaper it is a bargain. This product is perfect for indulgencing your skin and is designed to wake you up in the morning or freshen you up after the gym.
One of my many stocking fillers last Christmas was a bottle of Dove Beauty Care Body Wash Go Fresh Fresh Touch - goodness what a name!
I used to insist on having shower gels and body washes with hooks so that they could hang up in the shower as we didn't have a shelf in the shower at our old house and bending down to pick things up off the floor meant that I kept getting my hair wet!
Anyway now hubby has free reign on his purchases for me as the shower here has both a shelf and a grab rail so I can easily use hanging containers or free standing ones.
This has opened up a whole new world of shower gels for me to try and subsequently review! LOL!
This particular one looks very pretty as the 250ml container is a teardrop shape in pale green. The front has the Dove logo in dark blue and the words 'Beauty Care Body Wash go fresh fresh touch cucumber and green tea fragrance ¼ moisturising cream'. There is also a picture of a slice of cucumber and a leaf presumably from a green tea bush.
The picture at the top of this review is nothing like the actual container that I have!
The very top bit of the container is dark green and this is where you flip open the lid. To get at the body wash you just flip open the lid, invert the container and squeeze.
The initial fragrance is fresh and pleasant with, not unsurprisingly, the scents of cucumber and green tea!
The liquid is pale green, thick and pearlescent and produces lots of bubbles. The smell as I had my shower was lovely and it lingered in the air for a while after I had finished my ablutions.
After my shower my skin felt really moisturised as it always does when I use any Dove products as they are all ¼ moisturising cream.
I have taken a look at various places on the Internet and the current cost of this product is about the £3 mark which is a bit more expensive than say Radox but in my opinion it is well worth the money.
Of course the container, being plastic, can be recycled so that's good too.
In fact the only possible problem that I can see with this container is that, when it is almost empty, it will be difficult to stand it upside down to get the final body wash out and I don't like to waste any!
