I love the Dove range of beauty products and so when I saw one I hadn’t tried in Superdrug I bought it. Dove go fresh nourishing body wash comes in a predominately white plastic bottle with a plum featured on the front. It has a flip top lid that makes it easy to dispense the shower gel; within. I paid £2.59 for a 250ml bottle, so was it worth the cost?
The information on the bottle claims that this body wash is * replenishing refreshment that will nourish skin*.It contains plum and sakura blossom, both of which are moisturising. It is also enriched with Nutrim moisture;no idea what that means!
I use a body puff to wash in my shower .This body wash is a pale lilac colour and has a faint fruity scent. I am not sure I like the scent as it smells a bit musty to me if that makes sense. However it does feel good on my skin and lathers well. After use my skin feels soft and well moisturised. Luckily that strange scent doesn’t last!
Overall I do like the way this body wash leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturised but I really am not too keen on the scent. For that reason I won’t be buying this again.
The dove go fresh nourishing body wash rebalance is one of my favorites among dove body products for many reasons, over the Christmas period I was bought many bottles of dove products including this dove go fresh which I have only recently tried for the very first time and I was in love with the product instantly. The cost of the product its self is so cheap at £1.20 from my local B and M store in my town center and one big bottle lasts quite long as the product its self lathers so well so you get extremely good usage out of one bottle.
The dove body wash product left my skin so soft after my bath and I found that it helped so much with my dry skin problem also. It left my skin so hydrated and put moisture back into my skin preventing me from getting dry skin. For that I really must praise this product as I have tried to find a cream or body wash product that wouldn't dry my skin out for a long time and haven't been successful until now. Also the body wash itself is so light and delicate towards the skin, so if you have sensitive skin like me dove products are the best as they treat your skin with kindness. The scent of the product was also lovely and fresh and the scent clung to your body for a long period of time after wards as well which is great.
I love Dove products and use so many of them all of the time. I used a two hundred and fifty ml sized bottle of their Go Fresh Nourishing Body wash Rebalance in next to no time, not because I needed to use a lot of it to get a good lather, but rather because it was so lovely that I used it all up quite quickly. I not only used this when I had a shower, but I used it in my bath and created a lot of foaming bubbles and made my skin feel super soft and very hydrated. This is a very nourishing body wash and it is very kind to the skin.
I was given 2 Dove body washes as Christmas presents and this one was my first experience of the Dove Go Fresh range of products. I have always liked the Dove body washes I have used in the past and so I was looking forward to trying this one.
This bottle is a nice shape and the finishing touches of the Dove logo and the 'go' of go fresh in silver make it look a bit more special than your normal everyday body wash. The bottle shows you pictures of a plum and cherry blossom to reflect the plum and sakura blossom scent. It has purple lettering and top to also reflect the scent of this body wash.
The bottle is 250ml which is a decent size but doesn't take up too much room in my shower.
I wasn't sure what to expect this body wash to smell like and my first thought was that I had opened a packet of Refreshers. Now whilst I enjoyed these sweets as a child I don't want to smell like one as it is a very strong sweet smell. As I squeezed a small amount onto my body polisher I was hoping that the smell would fade, sadly it didn't.
This body wash contains Dove's Nutrium moisture and it does leave my skin feeling lovely and soft. The body wash is quite thick and creamy and a small amount lathers up really well. It rinses off easily and luckily takes most of the smell with it. By the time I have got dressed I can no longer smell this product which means I have continued to use it, I will however be glad to get to the end of the bottle and it isn't one that I will be using again.
Price and Availability
This body wash is widely available and is currently (April 2013) half price in Tesco and Sainsbury's costing £1.14, this is much more reasonable and even if I'd liked the fragrance I wouldn't be willing to pay £2.29 for it.
Would I recommend?
In terms of performance this shower gel is lovely to use but the fragrance is too strong for me, I'm hoping the other one I received smells nicer.
* ~ * THE BODYWASH * ~ *
The body wash is made by Dove and comes in a white coloured bottle which has blue writing on the front which states that the product is made by Dove. It also has a silver coloured Dove on the front of the bottle and states that the product is nourishing body wash which is part of the Go Fresh range. The lid is white but has a purple part on it, which makes the lid easier to flip open as the purple part of the lid has a small lip bit on it. On the front of the bottle it has a picture of a plum which is a light purple in colour and also has a picture of some blossom which I presume represents the sakura blossom. This particular body wash nourishes skin and rebalances it to leave you feeling refreshed. The body wash has a scent of plum and pure sakura blossom and is enriched with NutrimMoisture to nourish skin deep down for more beautiful skin long-term.
I don't normally go for Dove body-wash, how-ever my local Boots store is only small and didn't have the body-wash I normally use so I went for Dove, and as it was on offer, it saves me some money as well. I decided to go for Dove because I suffer from dry skin and eczema, so I wanted something that was going to nourish my skin and not dry it out. I have heard many reviews and seen many adverts for Dove products and they always sound very good, so this also prompted me to go for Dove as well.

When purchasing this from my local boots, store it was only available to buy in a 250ml bottle and it cost me approximately £2.37, how-ever this was on offer which was Buy one get one free on selected 250ml dove body wash so I bought this one and a normal dove body wash. When looking on boots website I can't seem to find this product online, so it must only be available in stores at the moment as the product is fairly new.
Other products in the Dove Go Fresh Range includes:
Body Wash Burst - Nectarine & white ginger scent
Body Wash Energise - Grapefruit & lemongrass scent
Body Wash Fresh Touch - Cucumber & green tea scent
Body Wash Revive - Pomegranate & lemon verbena scent
* ~ * USING THE WASH * ~ *
I stood under the shower before using the product so that it would lather up more when washing with it. The lid was easy to open as it just flips open and this was done easily, even with wet hands. I used a body puff when washing, so I tipped the bottle up so a small amount went onto the body puff. The body wash came out easily; how-ever you do have to be careful as it can come out a little too fast if you tip the bottle right up. There's no need to squeeze the bottle to dispense the wash as it just run's out of the small hole in the top of the bottle. The wash is a very light lilac colour. Using the body puff I started to rub it all over my body which started to create a rich lather. As the lather was created I could smell the wash which smelt fruity and quite sweet, the smell was very refreshing and light. A small amount of body wash is enough to do your whole body due to the amount the wash lathers up, creating a rich, white foam. The body wash felt really soft against my skin and was kind to it without causing any irritation or itching. After having a good wash I stood under the shower and the lather rinses off very easily without leaving a residue feeling on my skin.
After getting out the shower I patted my skin dry and had a look at it in the mirror. I regularly do this as I suffer from dry skin and eczema so I often have red, dry patches after showering and sometimes my skin can feel dry and tight. My skin did feel a little dry which was normal, as this happens a lot after showing anyway. My skin did, how-ever feel much softer and it felt nourished. My skin didn't feel itchy like it does sometimes when getting out of the shower and I felt fresh and clean. The smell of the product doesn't last on your skin which is a shame as it's such a nice scent; how-ever I wasn't too bothered about this anyway. I have used the body wash a few more times when in the shower and I definitely feel as though my skin feels and looks smoother and softer. I am convinced that if I keep using the product, my skin will remain soft and smoother.
* ~ * OVERALL OPINION * ~ *
I don't normally go for Dove body wash, how-ever I loved the fact that this particular body wash had a lovely, light, fruity scent to it which wasn't too sweet. The wash was kind to my skin and didn't leave it feeling irritated or itchy. As you only need to use a small amount to create a rich lather, the product should last longer than most shower creams/washes. In terms of value, I think it is a little pricey compared to some other brands which are available to buy; how-ever I don't mind paying a bit more for a good product that is kinder to my skin. If I see the product on offer again I will make the most of it and buy a few bottles of the wash to keep me going. You can also buy other products in the dove go fresh range, which includes different scents. As this product was so good I would be convinced to try the others in this range as well. I give this product 5 out of 5 stars as it's nourishing, keeps my skin soft and smooth and has a lovely fruity scent to it which makes me feel fresh and clean.
