I was given 2 Dove body washes as Christmas presents and this one was the second of the Dove Go Fresh range of products. I really didn't like the scent of the first one I tried so was hoping that this one wasn't going to be as bad
This bottle is a nice shape and the finishing touches of the Dove logo and the 'go' of go fresh in silver make it look a bit more special than your normal everyday body wash. The bottle shows you pictures of a pomegranate and leaves to reflect the pomegranate and lemon verbena scent. It has pink lettering and top to also reflect the scent of this body wash.
The bottle is 250ml which is a decent size but doesn't take up too much room in my shower, it has a good sized base and even when nearing the end it wasn't easily knocked over.
I was hoping that this scent wasn't going to be sickly sweet like the first one I tried, but it was. It smells artifical which is a shame but this shower gel is anything but the 'fresh' that the 'go fresh' name suggests.
This body wash contains Dove's Nutrium moisture and it does leave my skin feeling lovely and soft. The body wash is quite thick and creamy and a small amount lathers up really well. It rinses off easily and luckily takes most of the smell with it. By the time I have got dressed I can no longer smell this product and I can moisturise knowing that is the smell that will be left lingering on my skin.
Price and Availability
This body wash is widely available and is currently (June 2013) £1 in Asda this is much more reasonable than the £2.29 price in other supermarkets. I still wouldn't buy it though!
Would I recommend?
In terms of performance this shower gel is lovely to use but the fragrance is too strong for me, if you like strong sweet scents then give this one a try.
When doing some shopping in bodycare last month I came across this body wash and fell in love with the fragrance of this body wash as I thought it would be a nice pick me up in the morning.
***The body wash***
According to the Dove website this is "revitalising refreshment that effectively nourishes skin. A gentle awakening for your mind and skin with the lively, quenching scent of pomegranate & lemon verbena. Enriched with our breakthrough NutriumMoistureTM, to nourish while you shower for longer lasting more beautiful skin," and I have to say I agree with this description.
The first thing you notice about this body wash is the smell which is lovely. The combination of pomegranate and lemon verbena is really refreshing and uplifting - perfect for first thing in the morning. The body wash itself is a pretty pink colour and a really nice consistency as it is quite creamy and not too gloopy. In fact it is more like a shower cream than gel so feels quite moisturising. It does have a decent lather and feels quite smooth when it goes on you don't need loads of it so a little goes a long way. I have pretty sensitive skin and in a month of using it I haven't had any negative reactions to it and it does leave my skin feeling quite moisturised afterwards although you may still want to use a regular moisturiser depending on how dry your skin is but I find the body wash doesn't leave my skin too dried out.
In terms of lasting scent I wouldn't say that I particularly notice it hanging around for ages afterwards but then I don't mind that as I wear perfume anyway and like the smell to last in the shower but not necessarily afterwards.
I paid about £1.15 for this from bodycare but Dove body wash tends to cost around £2.30 in places like Boots, Superdrug etc. However, mainly because of the smell which is perfect in the morning I think it is good value for money.
I wrote quite recently about the Dove Plum and Sakura body wash which I received in a Christmas gift set. This Pomegranate and Lemon Verbena body wash was from the same set and as I have now moved onto this one, I have decided to review this too.
The body wash is from the Dove Go Fresh range and is described on the bottle as being 'a revitalising refreshment that effectively nourishes the skin'. It contains something called NutriumMoisture which Dove say will nourish for longer and give you beautiful skin.
I like the packaging of the product. It comes in a simple white tear drop shaped bottle with a very bright pink flip cap and the picture on the front is of a halved pomegranate with a couple of verbena leaves thrown in. As with the Plum and Sakura product which came in an identical shaped bottle, I have found the lid to be quite stiff and difficult to open, especially with wet hands in the shower.
The body wash itself is a pale pink in colour and in texture seems to sit somewhere between a gel and a crème. It foams up a little but it's not really soapy, yet I still feel clean after using it. I managed to use it to shave my legs and it worked OK for that, but wasn't ideal as it wasn't really frothy at all. It rinses away very easily and my skin (which is quite dry) does not feel tight after use.
Although I like the scents of both pomegranate and verbena I was dubious as to how well they would work together. In the bottle I found that this smelled quite nice - fruity and light - but it seemed to smell different when I actually used the product. The body wash smells mainly of pomegranate but has a lemony sharpness to it, which I guess is the verbena. Although the scent is OK, the problem I find with it, is that there is a sort of lingering scent that is left on the skin which is a little on the sickly side. It is hard to describe really, but it is this 'after scent' which I really do not like and spoils the product for me. The very first time I used this I felt quite nauseus after using it, so now I put on a strongly scented body lotion after using this to disguise the scent!
Other than the trace of scent which lingers on my skin (for quite some time I should add, at least a couple of hours), this does leave my skin feeling quite nice. I find most Dove products seem to suit my skin as they are known to be moisturising and indeed my skin does feel nice and soft after use, with the dry patches seeming to have been slightly moisturised.
A 250ml bottle of this body wash costs around £2.29 and is available in all of the usual places like the big supermarkets as well as Boots and Superdrug. Checking online I can see that lots of places have special offers on Dove products at the moment so you may be able to pick it up for even less. A deodorant is also available in the same fragrance.
On the whole, whilst this was a nice product to use and left my skin feeling nice, the scent really let it down. I have another bottle of this (I got the same gift set twice) and will continue to use that, but I would not go out of my way to buy another bottle of this in the future and nor would I recommend it, just because of that sickly scent that lingers once the product has been washed away.
DOVE GO FRESH REVIVE BODY WASH
If you have read my other review on the plum and sakura blossem body wash you will know that i had a gift set containing to dove body washes at christmas, well this was the other body wash in the set.
A dove body wash will cost you around £2.30 for a 250ml bottle and is available to buy from tesco, superdrug, morrisions, boots as well as a wide range of other shops and online.
This bottle has a pink flip top lid and a picture of a pomegranate on the front, Once opened it needs to be used within 12 months.
This body wash is a nice pink colour and only a little is needed as it lathers up well, It has a slight sweet but fruity scent to it.
I have to say that this body wash I was really pleased with, especially after being a bit disappointed with the other one that came in the set.
The consistency of this is quite thick and is more like a cream/moisturizer than a body wash, Not much of the product is needed as it lathers up really well and leaves skin feeling soft and moisturized.
I have now finished my bottle of this one and have had it since christmas day and have used it whilst in the shower every other day since as i do like to use other shower gels as well.
What i love about this is that the scent stays on your skin for most of the day after use and i have had people ask what i was using to wash with.
I will be going out to buy more of this body wash when I go shopping and can honestly say that i would recommend this to anyone and everyone.
Not only does it leave your skin feel soft it also leaves me feeling fresh and clean all day long
I tend to get bored using the same shower gels all the time, and I'm always on the look out for bargains in the beauty aisle when I'm out shopping.
This Pomegranate Revive Bodywash from Dove caught my eye in Sainsbury's recently, as it was reduced from its normal price of £2 down to 90p.
Dove obviously is a very well know brand name and when you buy their products, you pretty much know what you're getting, and you can rely on them to work well.
This bodywash is for use in the shower, but I see no reason why you couldn't pour this into a bath for a nice bubble bath too.
The bodywash comes in a white plastic bottle. It is curved at the sides and tapers to a narrower top. At the top is a pink plastic lid which you flip open so the product can be dispensed. Annoyingly, the bottle sits upright. I prefer bottles of shampoo, shower gel etc to stand on their end so all the product sinks towards the lid. It's more convenient and less wasteful. Once this starts running out, I will have to lean it against something in order to get the last dregs of bodywash out!
On the front of the bottle is the Dove logo in blue, along with a picture of a juicy looking pomegranate wedge, and a smaller pink label at the bottle to say it contains 'NutriumMoisture' - which, according to Dove, nourishes your skin while you shower.
When you squeeze out the bodywash, it comes out quickly so you may squeeze out more than you intended. It is the pale pink colour and consistency of strawberry yoghurt! It smells really lovely - very fruity and it actually reminded me a wee bit of Refreshers, the fizzy fruit sweets. The smell is mainly of pomegranate; I couldn't really detect any lemony scent.
As soon as I applied the product to my wet skin, it lathered up immediately. The lather was bright white, silky feeling - and there was lots of it. I was really impressed and can't think of a shower gel I've used recently that lathers up as well.
As soon as I rinsed it off, I did notice that my skin felt softer. I guess that's the NutriumMoisture doing its job! When I dried off, I was disappointed that the lovely scent had not remained on my skin, but it did feel soft and moisturised. When I used this in the evenings, my skin still felt soft the next morning.
I was impressed with this bodywash, and I would recommend it. However, being on a strict budget, I don't like to spend more than a £1 or so on items such as shower gels. £2 is a bit much for me to spend on a sole bottle of bodywash, but as long as this remains on discount I will be buying it.
Thanks for reading.
A month or two ago Boots had a massive offer one with many items costing just £1, this was a cross ranges such as Lynx, Original Source and many more, however, one of the ranges was 'Dove' and their body washes. There body washes were normally priced between £1.50 and £2, so I picked up a few to stock up, not to mention I also had a 1/3 off body gels / washes voucher - bargain! ;)
These can also be purchased in the likes of Superdrug, Tesco, Sainsburys and most other big chain supermarkets, however, I have also seen them in some corner stores but for considerably more.
The bottle itself is obviously Dove, due to the shape and style, this particular one is pinky / red in colour with a photo of a very appealing pomegramate on it.
The shower gel itself is a lovely, thick consistency which looks ever so slightly pink in colour. Though the first thing I noticed with the lovely scent. It was very fresh, hence the name 'Go Fresh' and was light fragrance that was very fruity, yet had undertones of sweet tones. I am not sure whether I could have picked out the smell of a pomegramate, as shown on the front, however it had a definite sweet, fruity smell.
To use it worked up a good lather and felt ever so soft and creamy on the skin. Unlike gels that can sometimes be harsh and not work up a good lather, this worked up a thick, creamy lather that felt really luxurious.
After using this my skin was noticably smoother and felt so much more hydrated. I also noticed that the scent lingered slightly, which I was very pleased with as it really is a lovely smell!
Overall I would reccomend this item as it works up a good lather, is soft to the skin and you can really feel it cleaning. I would still buy at full price, however, if you can pick it up at a price of around 66p like I did then it's a bargain to be had!
I have always been a fan of Dove products and regularly use their deodorants, soaps and moisturisers. I was attracted to this product because it smells absolutely delicious! The aroma of fruity pomegranates surrounds you in the shower it's fantastic! I saw these body washes on a 3 for 2 offer and thought I may as well give them a go so I bought two of these Go Fresh Pomegranate and one Grapefruit.
The wash is light pink with a creamy texture that lathers up very well, covering your body in the gorgeous smelling foam. After using the wash it does leave you feeling very clean and fresh only leaving a faint scent on the skin. With the product being Dove I was expecting this wash to keep my skin hydrated but it seems to have actually dried out my skin which is shame, I still use the wash but I have to do some pretty heavy moisturising of my hands, arms and hips afterwards. It probably just doesn't suit my skin so I won't be buying another bottle anytime soon.
The bottle has a very curvy and pink feminine design, it's an attractive bottle and doesn't look tacky or cheap at all. The little cap on the top is easy to open even with soapy hands. These Dove body washes are £2.39 normally but it seems to always be on some sort of sale. They smell great and seem to be fine with everyone else's skin, wish they were with mine!
I have always been a fan of Dove, as their products are all very good for my skin and have always smelt gorgeous, so natural and sweet, my favourite! And in Superdrug I noticed, Dove Go Fresh Revive Body Wash, and as it look appealing, I thought yes, another treat for me skin!
The bottle is very simple, but looks really attractive, the bottle is white with a picture of a pomegranate, which is coloured in red with a green leaf, I think it's really appealing for customers, as it looks different from other products on the shelf, because of the designs on the front. Also with the Dove logo, a lot of people might be appealed to use it, as Dove is quite a trusted brand and a lot of people are happy using their brand. The product claims to "nourish skin deep down for more beautiful skin deep down" and the product has "NutriumMoisture". Ingredients are listed on the back of the bottle but on the product information on the Dove website (www.dove.co.uk) produces a huge list on what the ingredients are and their benefits.
The first thing I noticed about the product was the scent, the product states the it is Pomegranate and Lemon Verbena, and I love the scent! It is really gorgeous, it was very fruity, and was quite Pomegranate like, which I personally love, but other might not actually enjoy it, so I would smell it before you buy. The lemon is also really nice and gives it a much fresher touch to the scent and the product.
Applying the product is very easy, as you squeeze the bottle, and the body wash easily comes out of the bottle, and I was surprised that the body wash is a light pink colour, as I was expecting the colour to be white, but the pink is just another plus for me, as I love pink! The I just apply to wet skin, and lather it, which was so easy, and noticed that the body wash was really soft and light, which is completely different to some other brand of body wash, as some can be heavy on the skin. Using the body wash was really nice, as the smells and the texture of the body wash was really nice and really awoke my senses, even at 6am!
The effects of using the Dove Body Wash were as good as expected, and even better! After using it for the first time, I noticed that there was a improvement in my skin, it felt slightly softer and felt more moisturised, but also the softness lasted all day, which felt perfect and was a huge advantage, as the nourishment of my skin felt amazing! Using the Dove Body wash for a longer period, I noticed a more long term improvement in my skin, as my skin felt constantly good, the softness soon became the constant condition of my skin, which was a huge bonus. My skin also looked much brighter and healthier, which was a real advantage as my skin was previously very dull, which was a massive downer.
Dove Go Fresh Revive Body Wash is available at Boots and Superdrug, and some bigger supermarkets and costs between £1-£1.50 for 250ml. I got mine for a £1 at a Tesco discount, bargain!
When it comes to the Dove brand I absolutely love stuff from them. More often than not too I find Dove rather often on offer in places which always delights me and allows me to stock up on items from this fabulous range!
This bottle of body wash cost me only a pound on special offer in Asda recently though if not offer then do expect to pay around £1.50 a bottle for their body washes.
The bottle is white and plastic with a flip-top lid concealing a small hole to the top of it and the bottle holds 250ml of the product. On the front of the bottle there is a picture of a cut open pomegranate and we are told that it is is Dove 'go Fresh' Beauty Care Body Wash 'Revive', Pomegranate & Lemon Verbena Scent and that it contains 1/4 moisturising cream. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told a bit about the product and the ingredients it contains, the size is stated (as I have listed already) and contact details for Unilever (the manufacturer of the product) are given. It a nice, appealing bottle this one that looks high quality and is rather unisex too.
The Body Wash Itself:
The body wash itself is rather runny and a whitish colour and squeezes out of the bottle really easily. You only need a small amount on a sponge or whatever to go frothy and it has a totally gorgeous of aroma of fruits to it with a slight added zest though I think that although the fragrance is wonderful, fresh and sweet it doesn't really smell distinctive but I do like the soft, zesty aroma of lemon that isn't in your face with this and it really is a very well blended fragrance indeed.
So it foams up really well, feels smooth in application and a little bit goes a very long way indeed. I can shave my bits and pieces with this if I so desire and it rinses off easily too.
I'm left with soft, supple and none greasy skin that really does feel very slightly moisturised and the fragrance lingers gently on my skin for a good few hours too.
Although this isn't my favourite smelling body wash from the Dove range this is really good at cleansing me and giving me a little moisturising after my showers and I wouldn't hesitate in purchasing this time and time again really!
Available in all good supermarkets and chemists etc.
This review is also posted on Ciao under this same username.
I have always been a great fan of all things Dove, and my family and friends all know this too. At Christmas I received several Dove Body Washes along with my other pressies.
A few weeks ago I decided to try the new Go Fresh Revive one.
It comes in a white squeezy bottle with a pink flip top. There is a picture, of a large slice of pomegranate with two green verbena leaves, on the front.
The body wash itself is a very delicate pink colour and is very soft and creamy. It has a lovely light fragrance with a fruity hint of pomegranate and lemon. I found that it lathered up really well and, after I had used it, I felt that my body was really clean and refreshed.
The fragrance lingers on my skin for a few hours which I like. Just now I feel that this particular body wash, helps me wake up in the morning and gives me a good start to my day.
As with all Dove products, the body wash contains 1/4 mousturising cream. This left my skin feeling soft and hydrated.
The bottle itself contains 250ml and the contents have a shelf life of 12 months after opening. This will never cause me any kind of problem as I use it every day. It will not last 1 month, never mind 12 months.
Five Stars for this one...
Although this was a gift to me, I have seen it on a special offer in Boots for 99p. The full price for the body wash is £1.99. As this is my favourite at the moment, I would probably pay the full price, if I could not find it anywhere on special offer.
I quite like Dove products but have yet to use any of their bodywashes. When I spotted the Pomegrante and Lemon Verbena Go Fresh Bodywash, I thought that it looked nice and didn't even bother to have a sniff, just picked it up and straight in my basket as it was on offer for 99p in Boots and I also had a voucher for a third off any body wash, so it only cost me 66p!
The body wash comes in quite feminine packaging, it is a white plastic bottle with a white and pink flip topo lid, which can be a little bit tricky to use in the shower. On the front, there is an attractive image of a pomegranate and some lemon verbena leaves (to be honest, I still don't know what lemon verbena is meant to be but it smells pretty good!). I still find that although the bottle is transparent, you can still see through and get a general idea of how much body wash you have left within the bottle.
I promised myself that I wouldn't open this one until I had finished all my other shower gels but temptation took over. I have tried using the body wash with my hands and on a shower puff. I like the consistency, it isn't runny and goes straight down the plughole but neither is it too thick. The first time, I used the bodywash, it didn't seem to lather up very well, so I tried it with my body puff but got the same result. Having said that, my first impression of the body wash was that it had a quite thick and silky texture coming out the bottle, which I was surprised at and it felt luxiourious on my skin. The body wash is pink in colour and suprisingly although I didn't see it lathering up, a little when along way and I didn't have soap suds all over the place. It washed off well, I've noticed an improvement in my skin as it is quite moisturising, my skin felt soft and looked clean. I still found that I had to apply moisturiser afterwards but the body wash doesn't promise these qualities, so I see this as somewhat a bit of a bonus and I would moisturise anyway afterwards.
I have to say genuinely that I love the scent, as soon as you open the bottle, you are hit by this wonderfully fresh fragrance. It's quite fruity but also has a tangy citrus note to it, which is what you would expect with the flavour, it really wakes you up in the morning. It is a strong scent but not overwhelming and smells natural. I found the scent lingered on my skin slightly, it isn't as strong as when you're in the shower but it is quite nice that you get the slight lingering, especially if you forget to put your perfume on.
The body wash is available from most supermarkets, and pharmacists. I think it normally retails for about £2 but obviously I bought it on offer, I'm going to stock up while it's still 99p. I'm sure if you shop around you will find it on offer and honestly, I would buy it at full price.
I do recommend this and will defintely be buying again. It has a lovely fragrance and works well, so a thumbs up from me.
Pomegranate is definitely the fruit and flavour of the moment and so I love anything I get can my hands on that has this scent. The newest scent from the Dove Go Fresh body wash range is Revive Pomegranate and lemon verbena and so I had to purchase it and I have to say it is absolutely lovely.
I really like Dove products as I think they really care about our bodies and skin and produce such quality products. I also like them because I think they are truly a company for women. They have a Campaign for Real Beauty which they describe on their website as such, "At Dove, we want to help free ourselves and the next generation from beauty stereotypes. It's this message that's at the heart of our Campaign for Real Beauty and Self-Esteem Fund, and it's why we continue to create thought-provoking ads, confidence-building programs and messages that embrace all definitions of beauty. We've reached over 5 million lives worldwide through the Dove Self-Esteem Fund so far."
I think it's such a nice lesson and by using these products we can really help to make ourselves feel better too. That's what I like about this new fragrance from Dove, I actually really look forward to having a shower as I know I have this in my bathroom. The scent is my favourite thing about it. It is very fruity and alive and really wakes me up int he morning. It's a strong fruity smell so if you're not too keen on that then I would say this is not for you but I absolutely love it. I think the main smell that really stands out in this body wash is the pomegranate. The lemon smell is definitely there, giving it a bit of zing but unlike other washes that have lemon as one of the main ingredients this is not over zesty or overpowering.
The liquid itself is quite thick and the lightest lightest of pink colours. It has an almost pearl sheen to it and I would call it a very luxurious lotion/wash. It smoothes onto the skin well and lathers up well and really makes my skin nice and smooth and moisturised. After your bath or shower it really leaves you smelling lovely and clean and what I like about it is that it has such a different smell to normal body washes.
The only thing I don't like is that the bottle does not have a handle on it so you can't hang it up in your shower, you just have to have it on the shower floor which really isn't a big complaint. As you can see from the picture above the bottle has a lovely picture of a pink juicy pomegranate on the front and looks really appealing. Dove themselves call this wash a gentle awakening for your mind and skin with the lively uplifting fragrance of pomegranate and lemon verbena. Give your skin a fresh new suppleness.
A 250ml bottle from Boots costs £2.03 and is definitely one I recommend.
Dooyoo accepted this product suggestion within 12 hours so I thought I'd review this ASAP.
I am a big fan of Dove products as they tend to work well and are gentle on the skin. I buy body washes and deodorants from the Dove range on a regular basis so when I saw this body wash on offer at Boots for 99p, I bought it.
The body wash comes in a white plastic bottle with a pink and white flip top lid. On the front of the bottle are a pomegranate slice and a couple of lemon verbena leaves. I'm not a big pomegranate fan, but even I have to admit that the pomegranate slice looks quite appetizing. My only complaints are that it is not possible to see how much of the body wash is left since the bottle is not clear, and it will be difficult to get the body wash out when there isn't much left.
The Body Wash
I like to have several different shower gels/body washes in my shower at one time as I feel that using one shower gel repeatedly is boring. This was the latest addition to my collection. When I poured this body wash onto my shower puff, the first thing I noticed was the silky texture. The body wash is pink and has a nice creamy consistency. As I rubbed the shower puff against my skin, the body wash lathered up very well. I needed very little to wash my entire body. After I rinsed it off, my skin felt clean and surprisingly soft, something that other shower gels/body washes have failed to achieve so far (the soft bit, not the clean bit!). Obviously I still applied a moisturiser, but my skin felt nice and pampered after using this body wash.
And now on to the scent. The body wash has a very genuine fruity scent with a slight citrus tinge to it. The scent is very strong and filled my shower as soon as I poured the body wash out. What I really like about the scent is that it doesn't smell artificial at all. The scent did not linger on my skin, but I did not mind this as I apply a nicely-scented moisturiser and perfume after my shower anyway. The whole experience of using this body wash was very pleasurable and uplifted my spirit.
Price and Availability
This body wash can be bought in most supermarkets and places that sell toiletries. It normally retails around the £2 mark, but like I mentioned before, I bought mine for 99p. Superdrug recently did a 2 for £2 offer on the 250ml Dove body washes so I suggest you search around for an offer before purchasing this.
Do I recommend this?
Yes, I do. It is a brilliant body wash and one of the best I have ever used. I haven't found any substantial faults with it. It smells good and leaves my skin feeling clean, soft and pampered. 5 stars from me.
