      5/5!

I may have finished all of my Christmas shampoos, but I am still a long way from finishing my Christmas shower gels and body washes.
I received this Dove plum and sakura blossom scented body wash for Christmas as part of a gift set along with a pomegranate and lemon verbena scented body wash.

I was pleased to receive this as I had had the same gift set in previous years and I remembered liking the scent of this one in particular.

      ~ Price ~
The body wash is available in a 250ml bottle from Boots for around £2.40.
It is currently on half price offer for just £1.20 on Boots' website www.boots.com.
It is also available at Superdrug and Wilkinsons.

      ~ Packaging ~
The bottle is made from white recyclable plastic and it is sort of tear drop shaped with a purple flip lid at the top of the bottle.
The front of the bottle has 'Dove' written across the front and has a picture of the dove bird logo in shiny silver.
In smaller lettering it says, 'go fresh nourishing body wash rebalance plum and sakura blossom scent'.
There is a picture of a halved plum and some cherry blossom, which is apparently what 'sakura' is.
The back of the bottle has a list of ingredients and an address for Unilever. It also describes the body wash, 'Replenishing refreshment that effectively nourishes skin. The harmonious scent of a succulent plum and pure sakura blossom. Enriched with our breakthrough NutriumMoisture TM, to nourish while you shower for longer lasting more beautiful skin.'
We are told nothing more about the NutriumMoisture TM on the bottle although the words do also feature on the front of the bottle.

      ~ Use ~
The top of the bottle goes up to a point so the flip lid is quite narrow. It is not the easiest to open with just a small 1cm lip to get your fingernails under to pull the lid up.
The body wash comes out of the bottle easily.
It is of quite a thin consistency. It isn't runny, but certainly isn't thick. It is lilac in colour and it is creamy.
The scent is really pleasant. It is sweet, fruity and floral. The scent is like a cross between starburst or opal fruit sweets and pantene shampoo. I think it has a slightly artificial scent, but it is still very pleasant.
Although this body wash is fairly thin in consistency, I have found that a little goes a long way. It feels creamy and moisturising and it leaves my skin feeling clean, moisturised and refreshed.
I definitely think this body wash is more moisturising than your average shower gel. I think the creaminess helps this.
The lovely scent lingers on my skin for a while after using it. I am pleased with this, but it is not something I would expect from a body wash. It also makes my bathroom smell nice!

      ~ Conclusion ~
I love the scent of this body wash and I am very happy with the product. It makes my skin feel soft, clean and moisturised. It is a lot more moisturising than your average shower gel.
I also find that the scent lingers on my skin for a while after use, which is another bonus.
I think it is reasonably priced and I would definitely purchase it again in the future.

NOT FOR ME, BUT NO OTHERS WHO LOVE IT

DOVE PLUM AND SAKURA BLOSSEM BODY WASH

For christmas this year one of the gifts I had was a set of dove body washes, I had this and another one in the set which I will also be reviewing.
As this was a gift I have had a look online and found that dove body washes are avalible in boots, tesco, superdrug, morrisons and many other shops as well as online and retails at around £2.30 a bottle.

        ***THE PRODUCT***

This bottle comes with a flip lid and is 250ml in size, and on the front you have a picture of a plum and flower, It also states the products scent, On the back of the bottle it advises you to use within 12 months of opening.
The consistency of this is just right and is a lovely lilac colour and looks and feels more like a cream than a body wash/shower gel.

        ***MY OVERALL OPINION***

This isn't one of my favorite dove products and isn't one i will go out and buy myself, I find that the scent of this is to sweet for me, and as the title says im sweet enough.
I find that it's sweet and sickly for me, But I do like the colour of the body wash and the consistency, I also like that this lathers well and after using not only do i feel clean but my skin feels moisturized and silky soft, you also don't need a lot of the product.

I will only award this body wash 3 stars as even though you don't need a lot and my skin feels soft/clean after use I have given the rest of the bottle to my mum

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        OK aside from the fragrance

For Christmas both my sister and my mother in law bought me the same set of Dove products. I was still pleased with this duplicate gift as I really like the Dove brand and find that generally it suits my skin which tends to be quite dry.

One of the products in the set was the Plum and Sakura Blossom body wash. I was especially excited to try this as I love anything smelling of plum and this is a product I had seen many times and wanted to try.

The body wash comes packaged in a white bottle with accents of purple and silver. It is a sort of tear drop shape with a flip top lid at the top of the bottle. My only criticism of the packaging is that I find the lid quite stiff and it can take some force to open - I actually broke my fingernail trying top open it on one occasion.

The product itself contains something called Nutrium Moisture which is supposed to moisturise the skin deep down. It also has the word 'rebalance' on the front of the bottle, but frankly I don't even know what that's supposed to mean! Perhaps it's something to do with restoring the PH of the skin, but it's not completely clear to me.

When it comes to using this, I find the product is quite a thick consistency so I don't need to use lots at once. It is a pale lilac colour and I think it looks more like hair conditioner than it does body wash. The product lathers quite well and produces a thick, creamy lather, rather than a frothy foam. It does feel quite nice against the skin and the creaminess reassures me that it is moisturising as it washes.

The smell of the body wash was disappointing if I'm honest. I like the smell of both plum and sakura (cherry blossom), yet I didn't feel they worked well together in this product. The plum smell isn't really noticeable at all when using the body wash which was the first let down. The second is that the cherry blossom scent is tainted with a strange sickly sweet fragrance which I don't really like very much.

I have found that once rinsed off, the scent lingers and it is only at this point that I can start to smell a plum fragrance coming through. I'd say the scent stays noticeable for around an hour after use. In terms of how this treats my skin, I find that it is mildly moisturising and leaves my skin soft and clean.

A 250ml bottle of this body wash costs £2.25 from ASDA or £2.29 from Sainsbury's, Tesco and Ocado.

On the whole I think this product is alright but I would not go out of my way to purchase another bottle. The scent sounded so lovely, but in reality was too sweet and sickly which was the biggest disappointment for me. I am still going to give this three stars because if I take the fragrance out of the equation then I actually think this is quite a nice product - it just wouldn't be my first choice!

        Disadvantages

        A great product highly recommended

This is a wonderful body wash. It smells absolutely wonderful. It is the most absolutely perfect Plum and floral scent I have ever come across. I usually do not buy fruit or food scented body products. No strawberry scented lotions and I do not want to smell like a cupcake either. This body wash is so very different though. It is such a beautiful, feminine scent. It actually smells "juicy", If that's even possible?
Don't get me wrong, it is not an overly sweet fruity smell like candy. it is more of a softer fruity smell that I cannot even describe other than to say it is great. Dove totally came up with a winning scent on this one. It is the perfect mix of fruit and floral. There isn't too much of either one, yet you can smell a little of both and they blend so perfectly. The body wash lathers up so nicely. It is a nice creamy lather that rinses easily and does not leave a residue. It does not dry your skin either - instead my skin feels so soft and smooth after using it. I bought this on a whim after seeing it here during a great sale. There were many different Dove items on sale, but me being obsessed with purple and plum in general, well I just had to pick this one and I am so glad I did. I will buy more in the future.Definitely recommended! The smell is yummy and lush without being overpowering and it is so very nice to your skin as well.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Nice value shower gel with high lather volume and really nice smell

I was given this Dove Sakura scented shower gel for Christmas by my mother in law and was really surprised at how nice it was. I had not seen that Dove was doing this shower gel and now regularly look for it when I go shopping - it is regularly on offer amongst the Dove shower gels in the major supermarkets including Asda and Tesco.
When I first used it I poured out far too much as it is extremely frothy and makes lots of lather and bubbles. It's so soapy and thick in fact that I sometimes use it to lather on my skin prior to shaving - it really is that good. The smell is very nice also and makes for a really nice shower or bath experience. It leaves skin soft and lovely smelling. One bottle lasts a long time, as with each bath or shower you don't need a large dollop to wash with.

        Advantages

        • "A nice body wash!"

        Disadvantages

        • "A bit too sweet for me!"

        Sweet by Dove!

A while back I was in my local Poundland store when I was pleased and surprised to see a lot of Dove products making an appearance. I usually love Dove as a brand so I must admit to spending rather a few quid on them instore cos for a pound a product instead of this one costing more like £2.00 a bottle (in all good supermarkets and chemists!) I felt like I was getting a really good bargain!

        The Packaging:

This comes in a white and purple plastic bottle with a flip-top lid concealing a small hole to the top of it then on the front of it we are told that it is Dove 'Go Fresh' Nourishing Body Wash 'Rebalance' Plum & Sakura Scent 'Nutrium Moisture' and there is a small silver picture of a Dove on there and a picture shown of a plum and some white and light pink blossom. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told a bit about the product, the ingredients and the size is stated (this is a 250ml bottle by the way), we are told that once opened to use the product up within 12 months of doing do and contact details for Unilever (the manufacturer of the product) are clearly given. This is a nice looking bottle of product and does look rather feminine with its flashes of purple colouring that it has to it.

        The Body Wash Itself:

This body wash is a really light creamy lilac colour so not a gel but more like a body lotion in its appearance in my opinion. This does have a very sweet sort of plum aroma to it with a hint of subtle floral to it and as the packaging suggests I do think that this is a very feminine scent and really rather pleasant as long as you appreciate really, really sweet fragrances, which this really is.

A little of this goes a long way indeed though it doesn't lather up very well but to be fair to it I really don't think that's it meant to. I mean it does very slightly but in use it feels really smooth and silky and kind to the skin and it is suitable for shaving with in my experience too.

This leaves me smelling really nice and for a good few hours too and I feel clean, look clean and my skin really feels gently moisturised until my next bath or shower and I never feel the need to use a separate body lotion or cream after using this as it really does leave my skin feeling really soft and supple and refreshed.

All in all this is a fabulous product though I have to be honest and say that the fragrance isn't really a very 'me' one due to the sweetness it has but other than that I really do think this is a fabulous top notch product and so very kind to the skin.

Available in all good chemists and supermarkets and for a 250ml size of this expect to pay closer to the £2.00 mark for this one (unless you find it in a discount store like I did and if you do....stock up!).
