Dove Supreme Sleek Satin Bath
I enjoy the odd bath at the weekend to relax and read my book and there is nothing better than a good quality bubble bath to go in it. I do like silky and moisturising bath foams over really bubbly lotions and have bought Dove's Supreme Sleek Satin Bath many times over the years.
The bath lotion comes in the standard Dove bath products packaging. The bottle is made of a strong plastic material and is overall a pearl/white colour. This bath lotion contains 500 ml of liquid and has a flip top.
The colour schemes vary for each Dove flavour and variety and this Supreme Sleek Satin Bath has a dark blue and white colour pattern. There is a blue square with a satin like material picture on the front and the top of the bottle has a thick blue stripe on it. The Dove branding is bold across the front and there is a cute little gold coloured Dove motif.
When you are running your hot bath you simply pour in a good glug of this bath lotion into the flow of water and stir it in slightly. The lotion itself is a lovely pearly white colour and is really shiny and smooth in appearance. It is quite thick and gooey and you need to give the bottle a little squeeze to get it out of the bottle.
The scent of this bath cream is quite subtle, it has hints of vanilla and fine lilac and overall very nice and fresh smelling. The scent helps you to relax and this is a nice and soft floral scent that matches the satin like texture of the cream.
This is not meant to be a bubbly and fizzing bath cream, it is a rich and silky smooth moisturiser that lathers the water and gives it a lovely smooth and satin like feel. When you slip into the bath it coats your skin in a rich and creamy layer that moisturises and leaves your skin feeling lovely and smooth and like the name says - satin like.
Overall I really like this bath cream from Dove and can feel the benefits of the rich and creamy texture working on my skin whilst in and after my bath. This is available in supermarkets and online and has a retail price of £1.60, you can often pick up Dove products on offer and I tend to wait for when they are. Lovely bath cream!
One of the things that I love to do is have a nice bath with lots of bubbles. As a single mum who works part time as well I don't often have much time (or money!) to pamper or treat myself and so the way I see it is my baths are a time to spoil myself and relax. As such I will often buy different kinds of bath products so that I have a variety to choose from. This review is for the dove supreme sleek satin beauty bath in lilac and vanilla fragrance.
The reason I bought this particular product was because at the time of purchase it was on offer for just one pound per bottle in boots. As I was familiar with the Dove brand already I felt it was a bargain price for something that both my son and I could use in the bath.
The product comes in a curved white plastic bottle which is almost tear drop shape. Dove do use a tear drop shape on their packaging in which they point out how much cream is used in their products and so I would imagine that the shape of the bottle in this instance is no coincidence.
The bottle has the Dove brand name on the front as well as the product name and a picture of what looks to be a pale blue satin sheet. We are told that the product has a lilac and vanilla fragrance and that it also contains a quarter moisturising cream. The packaging as a whole looks quite simple and understated yet somewhat elegant in my opinion.
To use the product you first need to flip up the lid and although it has a little rim to pull it up it is actually quite a tight fit and it can be awkward to flip up. Once the lid is flipped open though you should pour some of the bath cream under the running hot water tap. As you do this you will notice that the pale blue bath cream creates masses of fluffy looking bubbles in the bath and if you are anything like me you will love the fact that it does this!
What I love about this product is the fragrance in which it fills the bathroom with. Whilst I cannot particularly smell any vanilla the lilac smell is lovely and floral as well as being quite sweet. Whilst I wouldn't say that my skin smells of this after I have had my bath it is nice that it lingers in the bathroom and I find it quite relaxing.
When I have used this product in my bath my skin does feel quite soft for a little whiles afterwards but not as soft as if I were to be using one of the skin softening lush ballistics. I have also used this product in my son's bath and it seems to have a nice effect on his skin too and does not irritate his skin in any way.
I have to say that I think this bath cream is pretty good and at a pound for a 500ml bottle it offers unbeatable value so I will certainly look out for offers on it again. It's usual selling price is actually £2.95 and whilst this isn't a huge price, certainly compared to lush products, it is obviously much better if you can get it on a deal! 4 stars and a recommendation from me!
Thank you for reading my review!
