My name and address has somehow found its way onto a Dove mailing list, and every so often I receive a little something from them through the mail. Ages ago I got sent a generous 50ml bottle of their new body wash, the Dove Visible Care Renewing Crème Body Wash. I chucked this in a drawer and forgot all about it until recently when I came across it again and decided to give it a go. The body wash is formulated with nutrium moisture, which having googled it, is supposedly a new technology which helps the product penetrate the skin, rather than just sitting on the surface as most products of this nature do. The claim on the bottle is that this wash will give a proven visible improvement to the skin with just seven days of use. I have to admit to being a bit sceptical about these claims, but then I am someone who has been promised the world by beauty products in the past and let down repeatedly, so it's not really surprising! The body wash comes in a white bottle with blue label on the front telling us all about the product. The packaging of my mini bottle appears to differ slightly from the pictures I have seen of the full sized version, but to be honest I am not particularly impressed with either design, and find them rather plain and boring. I will add though that the blue and white colouring is at least in keeping with the Dove brand. When I first came to use this product, my initial reaction was one of surprise at the consistency of the product. I think when you usually use a body wash, you expect a translucent gel or a thin white crème, but this one was incredibly thick. It is white in colour, but has an unusual pearlescent sheen to it which almost makes it look metallic. I was surprised how far just a small amount of the wash went. I only had a 50ml bottle so had worried that it would not last the full seven days to give me a chance to test its claims, however this tiny bottle has somehow managed to last me two whole weeks with daily use! When I put this onto my skin, it didn't actually lather -well there may have been a very, very light froth from it - but it went on more like a milk. In fact it sort of reminded me of a light body lotion. The fact it stayed white was a bit of a bonus in the end anyway, as at least I could make sure all my skin had been covered. The scent is the same scent that most Dove products have, so if you are a fan of the original soap bars you will probably like this. It's a gentle, mild and soapy scent that is suitable for both men and women. I suppose the important part is the results, especially as it claimed I would see a difference with just seven days of use. Well firstly, I should say that each time I used this, it did the job of getting my skin clean - not that I was particularly grubby or anything, but as a standard wash, then its perfectly fine. I didn't really notice the Dove scent on my skin, but I did smell clean after using it. As for a visible difference? Well to be honest, I haven't noticed one. The only slight difference I have noticed is that the dry skin around my elbows is not quite as dry as it used to be, but I can't claim the rest of my skin is brighter or healthier looking I'm afraid. I asked my boyfriend if he could see a difference and he said no, but also mentioned that my skin felt quite soft, something I hadn't really noticed myself, so assuming he wasn't just saying that to win brownie points, that's one plus point for the product. A full sized 200ml bottle of this costs £2.69 from Boots. I think that's an OK price, but I would probably try to find it on special offer if I could. Overall, I thought this was a nice enough product, but it wasn't particularly special in my opinion. It got me clean, left my skin soft (apparently!) and seemed to have a moisturising effect. I'm not sure about the claims you will see a visible difference to your skin in seven days though, as I certainly can't see one myself, and on the whole I just found this to be quite an average product, so three stars from me.
I have been trying to find a body wash/shower gel that will help moisturise my skin as Im having a few problems with extremely dry skin. A few people suggested Dove products so I ended up purchasing this one. It is quite pricey but Dove has a good reputation so went ahead. It has a lovely smell and I thought thats a good start, however I have a small problem with gripping/squeezing bottles etc and I had real problems with this - more so when it was getting near the end of the bottle. The type of plastic the bottle is made from is really quite hard and substantial but this really caused me problems getting the product onto my shower scrunchie! The creme itself has a great texture but I found it was not runny enough and I ended up using more than was necessary per shower as I was having to squeeze so hard, the creme was lodged right at the top of the bottle even though it stands upright with the hole at the bottom for the creme to come out. It got to the stage that I tried shaking the bottle to loosen it but in the end (with great difficulty) I unscrewed the top to see if I could get any more out and discovered it was all lodged around the neck. I had to pour hot/warm water into it and shake the bottle to dislodge the rest. After all this effort it has really put me off buying another one as it is not exactly cheap. So today went into Boots to see if there was anything else. If you were elderly or like me and do not have a strong grip you will have problems with this.
A while back I received in the post a free sample of Dove Visible care Renewing Creme Body Wash, I'm always receiving free samples in the post which my Dad send for me and my fiancé, its handy as we get to try lots of different products to see if we like them rather than waste a lot of money on something that we either hate or that doesn't work and do what it is supposed to. Well anyway this was one of those free samples and some how it go put to one side until recently, I'm on a bit of a mission to use up all the odd bits of shower gels and bath stuff and all of the things we had for Christmas rather than buying stuff. So the other day after finishing up yet another bottle of shower gel I came across my Dove Visible care, I remember I had had it quite a while so decided to give it a go. The Packaging This free sample compared to some you get I was of a decent size, the body wash comes in a white plastic bottle with a rounded top and a flat base, this also doubles up as the lid which basically flips open and clicks back in place again. The bottle has a small blue and white label stuck on the front of the bottle, this follows the shape of the bottle, the top part of the label is white with the bottom half being pale blue. Right at the top of the label is the word Dove written in dark blue writing just below this is the Dove logo consisting of a small silver Dove. Again in the same dark blue writing are the words "Visible care Renewing Creme Body Wash" clearly stating they type of product this is. Right at the bottom of the label towards the base and lid of the bottle is a small statement about what this product is supposed to do stating "Proven visible skin improvement in 7 days". The only other information on the front of the bottle is a small dark blue square with the words "Nutrium Moisture" written inside it in white writing. The back of the bottle has the same shaped label stuck to it but this is plain white. There is very little information about the product on the back label, it is one of those labels that you can peel open so I expected to find all of the relevant information inside, but I was a bit surprised to find that inside the peelable label was a free phone telephone number and address to write to with any problems or questions etc, this was then repeated in about 10 different languages and took up one side of the label, and on the other side were the ingredients. On the outside of the label, the part you see when the peelable part is stuck down also contained very little information and simply displayed a website, the bottle size and also that this product is a Creme Body Wash and again this was repeated in several different languages. Personally I feel there should be a little bit more information about the product, I know it was a free sample but looking at all the other samples I have received they have always contained a little bit of product information and also various warnings etc, this bottle contained nothing like this at all, just a basic list of ingredients. The Body Wash The body wash is white in colour and has almost a pearly look to it, I expected the body wash to be a little thicker than regular shower gel as it was described as a "Creme Body Wash" but I was surprised at how thick it actually was, when I squeezed some out of the bottle it had the thickness and consistency on a thick moisturising hand cream, I actually had to check the bottle as I do have a Dove hand cream in a similar shaped bottle and I was convinced I had picked the wrong one up, but after checking the label I hadn't it was definitely the right one. Despite having an extremely thick consistency when added to a bit of water the body wash soon lathered up into a soft creamy foam, it really felt as though it was moisturizing my skin as I used it. Dove Visible care has quite a strong sweet floral fragrance to it, it was not so strong that it was overpowering but it was strong enough for the fragrance to linger on my skin for a long time afterwards. After using Dove visible care my skin very soft, clean and fresh and the sweet floral fragrance stayed with me for a long time afterwards. Personally I found that I only needed a small amount of the body wash at a time as it lathered up extremely well. Price & Availability As I said I received my bottle of Dove Visible care Renewing body wash as a free sample, however this product can be purchased from various shops including Tesco where a 200ml bottle is being sold for £2.48, personally I feel this is a fair price for this product as the bottle I received was a 55ml bottle and it last for several washes so the product really is long lasting and definitely worth the money. The price of the product does depend on where you purchase it from but from what I have seen it only varies a little bit. Overall I would definitely recommend this product it has a lovely fragrance, is long lasting and really does leave you skin feeling and smelling extremely clean, fresh and soft. Personally I feel it is reasonably priced especially as you only need a small amount at any one time. I feel that this product would be suitable for all the family, it may have a slightly feminine smell for the men but is gentle on the skin and has a fragrance that would suit most, definitely a product I would recommend.
I recently picked up Dove visiblecare renewing crème body wash as I am quite lazy about applying moisturiser post shower/bath every time so look for products that can moisturise my skin without my always having to do this to keep my skin in tip top condition and looking smooth and feeling soft. The crème body wash is white and is very much like a cream that has been whipped up and when applied to the body it does not lather as much as other body washes but rather glides over the skin and coats it like a creamy lotion. The smell is quite a pleasant one which is mildly perfumed and produces a clean, sweet smell. The product comes in a pale bue and white recyclable bottle with a flip top lid at the bottom with a non-drip dispenser which is the handiest way to get the product out without any waste. The claim is that your skin will be visibly improved in about 7 days. I have been using this product for just over a week now and my skin does feel softer and smoother but I couldn't say that it visibly looks much different but it does definitely feel better to the touch and there is no sign of dryness even on the shin area where my skin can sometimes look a little dry and dull. This crème is designed to replenish the skin and has a unique formula containing Nutrium Moisture which contains moisturisers that occur naturally in the skin, thus improving and aiding the skin to look its best. With continued use the skin should be visibly more beautiful within 3 weeks so I shall update this review in due course if this is indeed the case. However, I am more than happy with this product as it leaves my skin feeling very well cleansed, smelling fresh and nice and soft so one cannot ask for much more than that. A 200ml bottle costs around £2.50 from Tesco or Boots. Thanks for reading. x
I have recently signed up to a few companies to trial new products which I am interested in, so it is always a nice surprise when something new comes in through my door. One of these products was this VisibleCare Renewing Creme Body Wash from Dove. Firstly, I must say that for a tester/trial product, it is of a generous size at 55ml, which means that you can try the product properly, rather than just once from a sachet, which is why I felt I had used an adequate amount of the product to be able to write a review. The packaging is quite nice and sturdy (exactly as shown in the picture above), so it has been placed in my shower with my other products. I like the size of this (trial) product as it is suitable for travelling, but I imagine the full-sized version would be larger so could not comment on how portable that may be. The product itself smells quite nice and is the same as other Dove products with that gentle, luxurious scent. It squeezes out and isn't too runny or too thick, it reminds me of Dove handwash creams. I find that it lathers up enough, but not too much, it is more luxurious and creamy than bubbly. I do feel the moisturising effects of it straight away though and the smell while not overpowering, does smell nice. I am using herbal essences shampoo/conditioner at the moment and love the smell of that so like the mild and gentler scent attached to this Body Creme. The product makes a claim of 'Proven skin improvement in 7 days' now I use different products daily depending on my mood at the time. Although I have selected this a few times, I have not use it for seven days in a row so cannot comment on the effects of my skin, but I do feel clean and moisturised after using it. I still use my moisturisers though, out of habit I guess! I have no idea how much this product is on the market for, or where/when it will be available, but if a full-size bottle was on sale for £2 or less, I would probably buy it because it is nourishing, gentle and luxurious without being overpowering. It wouldn't be my first choice though because I would consider other products too and am not running out to buy it, so for that reason I will be rating it with four stars.
Dove Visible Care Renewing Crème Body Wash is what I recently purchased because its brand new to Dove and I like use lots of Dove's body washes/ gels. I went on the dove site a few months back and saw they where giving out free samples of this product. So I decided to give it a try before buying it I was due to go on a short holiday and thought I would give it a go while I was away. I received my sample in the post and quickly packed it away looking forward to using it. I had a little sniff of the body wash and it smell really fresh so that's always a good start! On the first day of my holiday I used it and comes out of the bottle like a white cream and it is very thick in texture. I like a creamy body washes they always give a good clean the creamier the better the moisture. So I took a shower squeezed some out and used it first on the driest area I have on my body and that's my legs due to shaving, breaking and damaging of the skin. I dried off out the shower felt my legs and the smelt really fresh and clean smelling like some sort of an awakening scent! They felt very soft and smooth. The skin was very smooth and it had put some moisture back into my dry hair follicles on my legs and the rest of my skin. The thing I like about Dove is they have a shower bath or wash that suits everyone's skin its not all targeted towards women either Dove men recently came out so my partner uses some of that now. On the 7th day of my holiday my skin smelt gorgeous and my legs where super soft! Great improvement and softer legs means confidence for me bonus! The first thing I thought I would do is buy the bigger bottle so that's what I did when I got back. Feeling refreshed after my baths and showers and lovely break just what a girl needs I went out and purchased it and why not spoil yourself with a new body wash? Ok the price of this is slightly high when you first buy it but it really last ages and does do its job to make your skin nice and smooth. The bottle is 200ml and the price is usually £3.32 but because you do get a lot of it I think its fare. Mine I got from Superdrug but you can pick it up from boots or online and other well-known supermarkets.
I recieved a sample of this product through the post last week - I use Dove products anyway and used to love the body wash that smelt of cherries (cherry and almond?) but that has now disappeared off the face of the earth for some reason...so I was pleased when this HUGE (for a sample) 55ml bottle dropped through my door. It bears the usual classy, simplistic Dove packaging; a white "curvy" bottle with the Dove logo and the words "visible care renewing creme body wash"on the front. It also claims "visible skin improvement in 7 days". Hmm. Well, it IS a nice wash. Nothing too spectacular, but it did moisturise my very dry skin amazingly well; the backs of my hands are all cracked and horrible, and they were smoother for a good 24 hours after I used this wash. I used it on my hair too (I know it says its a body wash...but hey!) and it left my hair looking really shiny...but I didnt notice a huge improvement in the skin on my body. Then again, I am only 27 so maybe its more aimed at older people? Im not sure. One negative point; this body wash smells like moisturiser - I like the smell of moisturiser, but I dont wanna be washing in it! I found the smell actually quite off putting, which is a shame as its an otherwise nice product.
I use a couple of body washes from Dove and although I haven't found them to be anything out of the ordinary I have still found them quite luxurious to use. I always like the thick, foamy feeling in the bath or shower and their shower gels always live up to my expectations. I obviously signed up for something or other because a couple of weeks ago I received a lovely free sample of their new Visible-care body wash. It's enough for about a week's use which is perfect because Dove promise that this gives proven visible skin improvement in just 7 days! This particular product from their new Visible-care range is the renewing version which is designed to nourish and replenish skin. Is apparently contains a special NutriumMoisture formula which is made of two moisturisers naturally found in skin. Creating nourished and moistured skin... as well as being clean of course! I can always feel the difference when my akin has been treated to a good moisturising product as I have really dry areas which can sometimes be made worse by shower creams. So if this works it should be a lovely body wash. Softer, smoother skin in 7 days? We will see! The body wash is exactly what I was expecting. It was thick white and creamy which lathered up perfectly in the bath. It lathers up really well so you don't need very much which is always a bonus. The fragrance is also really pleasing. It is soft and fresh. A light floral powdery scent. It really does smell lovely! Fresh and clean which almost bounces off the skin. It is almost like rubbing a bubbly body lotion into your skin. It really lathers well and made my skin feel super clean and loved. A lovely treat for the bathroom. But that is the same as any body wash, it usually is pretty good at cleaning the skin but what else!? so did it really leave my skin smoother and softer? After using the body wash for about 9 days I can say that although it makes my skin feel extremely clean and fresh and leaves it with a fresh subtle freshness throughout the day. It doesn't leave my skin majorly nourished. In fact after the first 4 days my skin was actually drier then usual! Very odd! This wasn't a good sign for me because my skin is rarely so dry that it starts getting flaky. But this happened on my arms and I wasn't impressed. However, I gave it the benefit of the doubt and used it until my bottle was finished. After the 9 days I can definitely say that my skin is as moisturised as it would be with a general 'moisturising' body wash. I can't say that my dry areas were incredibly improves because they wasn't. This body wash didn't do anything that a good body wash doesn't do or a decent body lotion. I think skin just needs some general TLC to really improve its condition. Unfortunately this did nothing special. It did after the initial dryness stop the flaky skin, but it cause it in the first place. So no praise from me! I think that Renewing Visible-care from Dove helps the condition of the skin but only slightly and used in conjunction with a good body lotion would definitely give the body a boost. But most body washes do and there are so many on the market now promising soft and smooth skin that this isn't anything special. It is priced at around £2.50 for a 200ml bottle. Although if you shop around you should find it cheaper as they are promoting it like crazy at the moment. But in my opinion it isn't worth that much. You can get some great body washes for half the price that has the same effect. The only bonus for me with this body wash is the gorgeous fresh clean aroma which you tend to only get with Dove or a few other traditional names. Softer, Smoother skin in 7 days? No. Nothing worth shouting about!
I have recently benefitted from a couple of lovely Dove bath products as free samples and unlike some companies where you get a measly sachet, Dove are generous enough to send you a small bottle with enough for a week's showers or baths a full 55ml of product. I love anything that I can try for nothing and was very happy to find these samples waiti8ng for me when I got back from my holidays and looked forward to try them. The first one I tried was this one designed for the more mature person and supposed to reduce the signs of aging so I was quite excited by this prospect. It claims that you will see a visible skin improvement in 7 days so here I hoped there was enough for the 7 days when I would see this amazing youthful me emerge. Taken from site are these product claims: Only Dove visiblecare contains Nutrim Moisturisers, a blend of two moisturisers that occur naturally in the skin. Glycerin which holds the natural moisture for lasting moiturisation. Lypids which act as a buffer against Lipid extraction, which absorbs deeply and replenishes the skin with its own moisture. What do you get? This small plastic bottle stands upside down with a flip top lid and is very easy to use in either a bath or shower as it is a slim and comfortable shape to hold. A small squeeze and out comes the thick white soapy cream. The smell is subtle and creamy, slightly flowery and fresh. My sample was the renewing version but it also comes in a softening and a replenishing version too. Using it: The cream is thick and lathers really well and you don't need much to get a good all over lather. It feels nice a creamy as you rub and lather it on your skin and the smell is light , fresh lemony and flowery. I did find that the aroma does not linger long on your skin after you have dried yourself but that was oaky as I always moisturize after a bath or shower anyway. I have to say that using this on a daily basis has not visibly changed the texture of my skin much at all but then it is hard to notice subtle changes. It is a very pleasant creamy bath wash but I don't really believe it has done much to make my skin look younger despite what the 10,261 women on the site say about the product. I haven't paid for this but looking at the mysupermarket.com site I see it is selling in Sainbury's for £2.49 for 200ml so it is about average for a name brand shower cream I would think but Ocado have it for £.49 so take a look before you buy. It was very pleasant but I am not sure I would buy this over any other bath cream product as its claims are not obvious enough for me. This product is made by unilever and I am not really sure about their policies on animal testing and eco ingredients. I do see that there is something called If you are interested then the ingredients are below and the website can be found easily either Unilever or Dove will get you there in a search. Palm kernalate which sounds suspiciously like palm oil so I hope it is from trees that have not destroyed rain forests. As I said the ingredients are a bit technical so I leave it up to you if you know what they are to decide for yourselves about the econess of his product. Ingredients also from the website Aqua, Glycerin,Sodium, Lauroyl Isethionate,Steric Acid,Sodium Laureth Sulfate,Sodium Palmitate, Lauric Acid , Sodium Isethionate, Parfam, Sodium Sterate, Coca-midopropyl Betaine, Sodium Palm Kernelate,PEG-14M, Silica,Zinc Oxide,Sodium chloride, Citric Acid, Tetrasodium EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate,BHT, Phenoxyethanol,Methylisothiazolinone,Benzyl Alcohol, Butyphenyl Methylpropional, Citronellol, Courmarin, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool, CI77891. At 41 I'm not getting any younger ( as my darling hubby keeps reminding me ) and it's time for me to start trying to hold back the effects of my skin inevitably aging and drying out.So when I got a link through for a freebie I jumped at the chance, The freebie was for a Dove product , I've gotten quite a few Dove products as samples in the past and they are one of the best companies , you know what it's like often you'll send off for a sample and through the post you recieve a tiddly little sachet with hardly anything in it...Not with Dove. They sent me a 55ml bottle .. What is this product This particular Dove product has been formulated with Older skin in mind , It claims that you will see a visible skin improvement in 7 days... Product overview Taken from site Only Dove visiblecare contains Nutrim Moisturisers, a blend of two moisturisers that occur naturally in the skin. Glycerin which holds the natural moisture for lasting moiturisation. Lypids which act as a buffer against Lipid extraction, which absorbs Deeply and replenishes the skin with its own moisture. The packaging Like all other Dove products this body wash comes in a blue and white bottle with the silver Dove logo, I should at this point mention there are two other washes available alongside this renewing one, one for softening and one for brightening the skin. Because it comes in a convienient flip top bottle it is very simple to open, the first thing I noticed when I opened it for the first time , was the delightful Dove Fragrance, ( this next , may sound like a strange comment) but, there is something in this fragrance which smells richer and deeper than original Dove body washes , and almost spa like aroma...well it passes the fragrance test with flying colours onto the washing .. What I Think Maybe I use too much, I found when I used this that the formula is quite silky when you first apply it, lathering takes absolutley no time at all and if you use too much like me , ( I used it on my face )you could well find yourself in a bit of a pickle ,not being able to see through the lather..It does however rinse of really easily, I'm not one for face flannels or sponges so I just threw some cold water over my face until all the lather had gone and then patted my skin dry. Results I have to say that using this on a daily basis has visibly changed the texture of my skin, it feels softer and looks fresher , not just on my face but my whole body. As I haven't paid for this I don't know what the cost is to buy a full size bottle , however because of the produced results i would be willing to pay more than usual for this product.
