E45 Emolient Wash Cream
Advantages: Good for my little boy
My little boy had really bad eczema on his face. Thankfully its the only place where he had it but it still looked really red and dry and painful. I had taken him to the doctors who had actually prescribed some Aquabase cream for him but this really did not seem to be doing much. After talking to some friends with babies who went through similar with their little ones they suggested I try some regular E45 cream that you can just buy off the shelves without prescription in Boots. They said it had worked really well and so I was hopeful to try it, anything really that would get rid of his eczema. I didn't really want to use steroids or strong medicine on his face and liked the fact that E45 is such a simple pure product so armed with this information I started him on a whole all over body E45 cream treatment.
One of the products I bought was the E45 emollient cream wash. I had been using a baby bath product but thought this might of been one of the triggers of his eczema so decided to cut this out and use this simple body wash in his bath. I wanted to be able to cleanse his skin firstly in the bath before I put cream on his face so thought this would be a good way of doing it. According to the packaging, E45 Emollient Wash Cream is an emollient soap-substitute clinically proven to wash dry, itchy skin conditions.E45 Emollient Wash Cream is recommended by Dermatologists for washing more serious dry skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis and icthyosis. It is soap free, detergent free and perfume free and is dermatologically tested.
The wash comes in a bottle with a pump action at the top which I find really helpful because as I am holding my little boy in the bath I can pump this with the other hand and put it onto his body quite easily. The wash is interesting as its not like a normal body wash we would use in the bath or shower, it's more like a cream which doesn't really lather up, I just rub it over my little boys body and he always feels quite fresh and clean after using it. THe wash is a white colour and like I've said above more in the form of a cream. It has no fragrance or perfume to it which I like as it is simpler that way.
I am really pleased with the results I have had with this wash cream, it seems to really clean his little body and is really gentle and the eczema on his face has definitely improved so I will continue to use this in his bath for the foreseeable future.
A 250ml bottle costs £5.49 so it is fairly expensive but I only need to use a little at a time and haven't used a whole bottle yet in the last month or so so it lasts quite a while and is a product I definitely recommend.
