I got this FCUK Signature body wash as part of an FCUK gift set a while ago.
~ Price and availability ~
My bottle holds 75ml of body wash, but there is also a larger 300ml bottle available, which usually costs £4.50 and is available from www.frenchconnection.com.
~ In use ~
The body wash feels very thick in consistency. It comes out of the bottle easily and looks just as shimmery when it is tipped onto my hand as it did in the bottle.
I am impressed with how thick the body wash is. It feels luxurious. It lathers up really well and produces a creamy, but soapy lather.
It doesn’t feel dying on my skin at all. It feels creamy and actually feels quite moisturising on my skin.
The scent is similar to the body spray from the same range, which is described by FCUK, ‘Top notes of luscious, exotic fruits blend over a mysterious and enticing floral bouquet. Simply exotic...’
It has a fresh, fruity scent, but I can also smell a strong oriental-floral scent and there is also a sweet creaminess. It doesn’t smell as harsh as the body spray, but the scent does have a slight harshness to it and it is still quite strong and distinct.
I think the scent is quite mature and sophisticated.
I was surprised to find that, although this body wash has a shimmer to it, there is no shimmer or glitter left on my skin once the product has been rinsed off, which I am pleased about as I am not a big fan of shimmer or glitter on my skin as it tends to go everywhere and it is difficult to apply evenly or even to apply how you want it and it tends to be a nightmare to wash off.
After using this body wash my skin is left feeling clean, fresh and hydrated and the scent lingers on my skin for a while.
I have enjoyed using this body wash. I like the scent and it is lovely and thick and it feels luxurious.
We had a bottle of FCUK body wash in the bathroom which was finished ages ago so it's time to review it before I recycle the container!
FCUK is a designer name but I don't really bother with things like that, it was there so I used it, lol!
Ours was a limited edition with a map of the UK on it with footballers on it and is a light blue colour.
The size is 200ml and it has a press in lid that is the width of the top and is made in the UK...
The product talks about leaving you refreshed and fragranced with the 'sexy citrus scent' and how it is best to be used with their brand deodorising spray - yeah right!
There are directions for use including how to work it into a lather, etc, and to rinse if you get it in your eyes.
The body wash itself is quite runny and clear, it does work into a lather but not a very soapy one. I missed the bubble some other brands give and didn't think it was very good quality to say it must have been expensive...
The smell is nice and seems expensive, it was more flowery than citrus I thought but really nice and gentle and my skin felt lovely and soft for ages after :)
You only need a blob in a flannel of shower puff so it was economical as it lasted ages. I used it the most I think though...
Not fantastic, not rubbish it did the job ok and left the bathroom smelling mildly nice as well. 3 stars from me, you pay for the name I think just to get clean!
I received this as a Christmas present, and pretty sure my poor friend bought this before it went to the knockdown price
but she obviously knows me well as the scent of this new Eau de FCUK is lovely.
This review is based on the body wash I got as part of a gift set currently £4 (half price) from Boots.com, but is also available on its own for £3.50 for the 200ml bottle, also on a 3 for 2 offer so better actually buying the gift set, the other item in the set is the Eau de FCUK Cool Down body spray!
So concentrating on the Gel body wash, it comes in a bright baby pink cylindrical bottle which has a pop cap opening which also twists off enabling you to get to the depths of the liquid gel inside. The bottle is a soft plastic which means it is easy enough to squeeze out. It is a thick enough gel so doesnt pour out in huge amounts a gentle squeeze is enough to ooze enough for that all important squeegee test! I like to use one of those net squishy bath sponges as I find they exfoliate quite well. This foamed up quite nicely, not too much so that you were left with soap scum on your shower/bath but enough to massage all over your skin. I didnt find the gorgeous floral smell overpowering at all, instead I felt relaxed by it.
I couldnt determine which flowers I could smell as Im not great with flowers to be honest, but its a very feminine body wash so all you fellas out there steer clear of it but then again the pink bottle should be enough to tell you that anyway! A definite girlie body wash!
It contains fennel extract which helps to hydrate and moisturise your skin. After using this, my skin didnt feel tight or itchy as can happen with some shower gels. I didnt however notice any change to my skin, it wasnt noticeable softer or smoother in any way, although you are left with a very mild scent for a little while afterwards. This doesnt detract from your usual perfume as it is a barely there aroma.
This gel can be used either in the bath or in the shower dependent on your own preference. I usually use this when I have a shower as I prefer to use Lush products when having a bath .
Would I recommend this body wash?
Yes if you like floral smells and like pretty pink bottles sitting on your bathroom shelf! It lasts quite a while too as a little goes a long way, I've used mine about 5-6 times now and barely made a dent in the bottle! So reckon it should last a couple of months perhaps.
This Fcuk body wash is a deliciously refreshing and lightly fragranced body wash to freshen and cleanse the skin / Use in the shower or bath to revitalise your skin and lighten your mood /
