I love FCUK toiletries and am happy to try different ones as often as possible. I have recently been using a Pure Body Wash I got as part of a gift last year. The bag has been used for some time but I have only just got round to using this product. I was a bit worried that I had received it last Christmas so may not be too good, but age does not seem to have been a problem for it. I wondered why I had not seen it before but was told recently that some products are only available through Boots so this may be one of them. The product I have is a small bottle for a shower gel as it is 175ml and contains grapefruit as one of the main ingredients. There is also vanilla which I like and pomegranate which does not seem to be very dominant. As well as cleaning the body it is meant to firm it as well and to this extent there is jojoba oil and vitamin E. It has a pump dispenser which is not my favourite for a shower product but I am finding it easy to get the liquid out, but whether or not this will change as the bottler empties I don't know. One good thing is that the bottle is clear so it is easy to see how much is left and there is no likelyhood of running out mid shower. There is plenty of lather formed when this is used, but as I always use a scrunchy this may help it along and I am not sure how much there would be if it was just poured into the hand. This method also seems to make all shower gels last a long time, and it is having the same effect with this one. I don't have to use a lot to get the amount of lather I need. There is not a very strong smell from the shower gel and I am happy about this as I don't want it to be competing with perfume if I am going out. Unlike some other FCUK products there is not one dominant scent with this shower gel, and I can't quite put my finger on what this remind me of. It is certainly not my favourite but nor is it bad enough to make me throw it away without finishing it off. With so many really good FCUK products on the market it is not likely that I will choose this one again.
I recieved this shower gel as part of my birthday present last year. I normally use Soap & Glory but this looked equally as good and the pacakging was very nice. The shower gel comes with a pump dispenser and you get 500ml of product for £5 in Boots. You can always get this stuff on 3 for 2 in Boots so you can grab a bargain. I have never used FCUK products before I was always put off by the dodgy pink packaging but since the range has been revamped it would look good on all bathroom shelves. The shower gel is part of the FCUK 'pure' range, it claims to be fresh and fruity and will cleanse as well as moisturise. The shower gel contains pink grapefruit, jojoba to moisturise, vitamin E to condiditon the skin and pomegranate to replenish. The first thing you notice when you dispense the shower gel is the distinct smell of grapefruit. The smell is very plesant and refreshing. You only need to use 1-2 pumps to get a good lather. For best results I would recommend using a body puff or a sponge to make the gel last even longer. It rinses off very well too. After using this I noticed that my skin felt quite dry, it did not feel moisturised at all. Compared to other moisturising shower gels I have tried this was very disappointing. The best thing about the shower gel was the scent. I wouldn't recommend buying this as I have used cheaper versions and had a much better result. All in all a very disappointing product.
As with the FCUK body lotion I got the FCUK Body Wash as Part of a gift set and wanted to try out everything in it! Any excuse to try something new...even better when it comes in the form of a gift! *The Product* ''Extracts of Pink Grapefruit and Pomegranate, Vitamin E and Jojoba oil'' The on I have is a 175ml bottle with a handy pump on the top. This pump locks and unlocks, but for some reason the pump will not unlock no matter what I do on the one I have! Frustrating! The bottle has a pretty design and it a see through blue/green tinted bottle, showing the green coloured liquid inside. Quite nice, but looks very hand soapy, if that makes sense. Not as glamorous looking sitting next to my Soap & Glory and James Brown. The product claims to be triple moisturising. The pomegranate will help keep skin firm while the pink grapefruit, jojoba oil, and antioxidant vitamin E will leave your skin refreshed. This will be put to the test! I want to mention that this bottle states that French Connection and Boots are against animal testing as this is very important to some people, I will be honest in that I do not automatically look for this when I buy something but it's good to know all the same. *The Smell* ''A soft floral Oriental scent built around a delicious fusion of violet, pepper and vanilla notes'' This is supposed to have the same smell as the body lotion, but this smell is more pleasurable to my nose than the lotion. This could be due to the added pomegranate and pink grapefruit, but whatever it is I like it much better! It doesn't smell smoky like the lotion. *Using The Product* As said above the pump on this bottle has broken, it has been this way since I got it which is rather frustrating as I have to unscrew the cap and pull out the tub and rub that onto my loofa. A bit much hassle for a product I'm not so far in love with! The product lathers up well and smell nice. I don't really feel the triple moisturising or firming qualities talked about on the bottle instantly but before I get out the shower I get my skin the once over and it does seem very soft and clean. *Overall* As gift this is a really good and I will use in in-between other products. The best part about the gift sets are the lovely bags they come in, I think they vary year to year but this year it was a lovely purple bag with a gold clasp! This is now my new make-up bag. However, I do not think I would buy the product on it's own as the scent just isn't my favourite but that is my personal taste so don't let it deter you from giving it a try!
I was given a bottle of Fcuk Pure Body Wash as part of a set for Christmas. It's taken me until September to use up the 175ml bottle, so I thought it was about time to write a review! Fcuk describe this body wash as a "triple moisturising gel". It contains pomegranate extract which is said to help firm skin and extract of pink grapefruit, jojoba oil and vitamin E to "refresh, moisturise and condition". The body wash comes in quite an attractive pump top plastic bottle. You can lock the pump shut, so it is safe to take away with you without it leaking all over your sponge bag. The gel is clear, but it is quite an unusual pale yellow / green colour. It dispenses easily from the bottle and it lathers well on contact with water. You don't need to use too much of the gel to build up a good foam, and so it is quite long lasting. I have found it to be pretty effective in cleaning my skin, but I haven't found it particularly moisturising. It hasn't dried my skin out, but I don't think it lives up to Fcuk's firming and moisturising claims. Fcuk describe the body wash as having "a soft floral oriental scent built around a delicious fusion of violet pepper and vanilla notes". I think this body wash has a pretty unusal fragrance which you are either going to like or loathe. I find it pretty musky and a little masculine. Whilst I don't actively dislike it, I'm not that keen on it either. This is the main reason that a 175 ml bottle has lasted nearly 9 months! You can buy a 500 ml bottle of this body wash in Boots for £5.00. However, I won't be rushing out to replace the bottle that I've just finished. In my view, you can buy much more effective moisturising body washes much cheaper. I can't help thinking that you are paying a premium for the Fcuk name with this product.
I received the FCUK Pure body wash in a gift set at Christmas time. I was not quite sure what I would expect from it, because FCUK are best known for their fashion and accessories, therefore I was unsure if their body care range would live up to expectations. After holding on to it for quite some time, I decided to give it some in order to review. As you can see in the image, you pump out the liquid through pushing down on the pump, as opposed to having to squeeze the product out. I think this is far more efficient, and it would be good to keep in your bathroom and refill when finished, as the bottle is nice. There is also a pattern all on the side, and overall the bottle does look very sleek and expensive. The liquid itself is however a slightly unappealing shade of yellow/green. (Not the 'cleanest' of colours!) The thing I like most about this body wash is the scent of it. Being somebody who loves sweet scents, I did not think I would like the smell of this after reading what it includes. However, I was pleasantly surprised with it and it turns out I really love this scent. It consists of pink grapefruit and pomegranate, vitamin E and jojoba oil, as well as base notes of musk, sandalwood, sweet tonka and vanilla. As you can see the scent might not be to everyones taste, as it is fairly oriental, and a mixture of various different scents. As it includes vitamin E, this means it is excellent for using on sensitive skin. When using the shower gel, I had no problems, as the pump works very well. However, this body wash is supposed to produce a creamy foam when applied, however this has never been the case with me. Infact, the shower gel is really thin so it does not work effectively. After using it alone, it does not make me feel clean enough, and the scent disappears after use fairly quickly. It also did not moisturise my skin particularly, or leave it feeling much better. Due to this being branded through FCUK, I was hoping for a great quality body wash, but was however quite let down! If you are wanting to purchase this product, the only place that I have seen it stocked is within Boots stores and on their website. It is available in two sizes which are 500ml and a mini 75ml. (Do note that the 75ml is considerably smaller, therefore it does not have a pump and instead you have to squeeze the product out). The 500ml bottle costs £5.00 which is essentially very expensive for a shower gel. It would however last quite a long time, and if you are treating yourself then it would be great. The 75ml bottle costs £2.25 which I think is far too expensive, as you might as well just purchas the larger one. Overall, I feel that this product is far too expensive for what it does. I do love the smell, however it just does not clean as well as expected, and I was really disappointed with this. I feel that you can get better results with supermarket own brand shower gels, so why splurge out on this? Thanks for reading.
At Christmas my daughter and I always get given quite a few toiletries and last year was no exception. Shower gels and such like we put in the bathroom cupboard and share one at a time otherwise we would never be able to get in the shower for the bottles of lotions and potions. The one we are currently using is the FCUK Pure Body wash. The size we have is 175ml but I cannot find this listed on the Boots website; they list 500ml at £5 and a travel size 75ml at 2.55. I have not seen them in the shops and 500ml seems very large for this sort of product so I am not sure the website is correct. FCUK Pure is a Boots only line. First impressions upon seeing this product were mixed. I like the idea of the pump dispenser as I think that is so much easier than trying to take the top off a product when in the shower, also, as someone who wears glasses as I am very short sighted I often cannot see lids to put them back on! However the design of the packaging is not very appealing. The clear plastic bottle has insipid aqua designs on it and shows the body wash which looks distinctly like a urine sample! Reading the description of the product it sounded very appealing. It contains extracts of pink grapefruit and pomegranate and also vitamin E and jojoba oil, this combination is designed to keep the skin firm, moisturised and refreshed claim the manufacturers. There is also mention of an oriental floral fragrance with notes of pepper, vanilla and violet. Next came the shower test. The pump worked really well, it was not stiff to use and it delivered a reasonable amount of product. I always use exfoliating mitts in the shower and immediately this body wash started producing a nice amount of foam. The foam felt rich and pleasant on my skin and a little certainly went a long way. I tried using the product without the mitts too and it still produced a good amount of lather. Unfortunately with the lather came the smell! I expected a lovely fresh floral aroma with a hint of citrus but this really disappointed. There is no citrus smell at all, in fact I thought it had a rather heavy oily scent which must have something to do with the Jojoba oil, however it also smelt a little bit fishy to me. I don't know if I have a strange sense of smell but showering with a hint of fish is not my idea of a luxurious time. I have noticed that the bottle is not going down very quickly and I asked my daughter what she thought of it and she is not keen on the fragrance either although she didn't comment on the eau de fish. After the shower I noticed that my skin felt very soft and supple so the moisturising effect of the oil is obviously good. There was a mere trace of fragrance on the skin which was so faint it was not discernable after a few minutes. Although I wasn't keen on the smell I do prefer products that don't really fragrance the skin anyway as it can clash with the perfume I choose anyway. Although this bottle has now been on the go in our house for a while we still have not got to the bottom of it so I am not sure how effective the pump will be. Having looked at it I would think it should work well right up to the end of the bottle as the tube goes right down. Overall I was not impressed with this and I am glad I didn't pay for it. The colour is off-putting and so is the smell. I think the only things in its favour are the excellent pump dispenser and the moisturising effect and those are not enough to make me buy another bottle.
Whenever Christmas or my birthday arrives my family always knows the three main things that are going to make me happy-1 books, 2 chocolate, 3 bubble bath products. So for my birthday my sister bought me an fcuk set which contained bodywash, bodyscrub, moisturiser and body spray. This is my review for fcuk bodywash. I've never tried any of the fcuk range before, so I was happy when I got this so that I could try it out. Unlike the picture this bottle doesnt have the pump as it was part of a little gift set, so the bottle contained 75ml of the product and is a clear bottle so that you can see the liquid inside. The liquid itself is clear with a slightly greenish tint to it. The front of the product says that it has extracts of pink grapefruit, pomegranate, jojoba oil and vitamin E. It has quite a floral smell to it, which is very pleasent but I was hoping I could smell some of the grapefruit or pomegranate. I decided to use this in the shower as it says on the bottle to massage it into damp skin, so I thought to get the full experience i'd follow the instructions, instead of just bunging it into my bath like I usually do. The bottle claims that it is 'a triple moisturising gel that produces a creamy foam,' there was an average amount of foam after using a small amount. I usually like lots of foam but thats just my personal preference. The bottle also says that it is 'packed full of ingredients to help keep skin firm, moisturised, refreshed and conditioned,' I definatly felt alot fresher and slightly tingly when I stepped out of the shower. My skin didn't really feel that firm and soft but I did have a lovely floral smell to me after i'd used it which i really liked. A very pleasent bodywash with very little to complain about.
The fcuk pure body wash was yet another free product that I received with the bag I purchased from boots over Christmas time. Some of the products in the bag looked rather luxurious such as the whipped body cream and the body soufflé but this wash looked simple as if to be used on regular occasions. The body wash comes in an extremely pale green pump action bottle that appears almost see through. The bottle size is 175ml and has a rather unusual pattern on it. The bottle would stand out on a shelf if you were looking for a shower gel rather than cream. The fcuk pure body wash is a triple moisturising gel that contains extracts of pink grapefruit, pomegranate, vitamin e and jojoba oil. The first thing I noticed about the gel was the smell. To be honest it isn't very pleasant at all. It is very floral with a hint of pepper and somewhat overpowering. It is far too strong a scent for me and didn't make using the gel very enjoyable. The pump action dispenser works well and releases the right amount of gel to give a good lather. One good point of the gel is that it does lather well and you do feel like you get a good clean. The gel is rather refreshing and is ok for a basic gel as long as you don't mind the scent. I personally wouldn't use this gel again. Although I did feel like I had a nice clean I didn't like the smell at all and I thought the gel was a bit to gloopy for my liking even though it did lather up well enough. Overall this shower gel just isn't for me.
FCUK pure body wash is a reasonably nice bodywash, but thats about as far as I would go. I received this body wash as part of a set for Christmas this year and was intrigued as to what it would be like as I have never used a FCUK body wash before. I have had other FCUK products and after trying the body cream and the delicious body souffle (showerwash) I thought it could have great potential. I wasn't overly impressed with how the product looked as I thought the blue colour was actually quite masculine. I suppose it gives it a fresher look but I wasn't really overly keen on the appearance. So I got in the shower and put a little bodywash on to my sponge. The product isn't the easiest thing to use, especially when you're in a rush as it is more difficult to hold the bottle and press the pump. The bodywash lathered up really quite nicely, what I would call a proper bodywash. So rubbing it all over my skin, I noticed the smell was quite pleasant but nothing that made me want to buy more and more. The product supposedly has extracts of pink grapefruit and pomegranate, vitamin E and jojoba oil which doesn't really mean an awful lot to me! Initially I didn't like the sound of pink grapefruit as I'm not too keen on this smell but it isn't really noticeable. The smell is quite pleasant but I wouldn't say it was particularly feminine as it isn't florally in the slightest yet it isn't fruity either. I could actually imagine it being a unisex bodywash. The smell is pretty standard and isn't overly inspiring. The bodywash has lasted me a little less than a month, my ordinary bodywashes last a me a little longer but this is only a 175ml container. I now have just under a centimetre worth of body wash left at the bottom of the container which is really annoying as the pump doesn't reach it. It's difficult to stand the container upside down as well to get the last bit out because of the pump so I'm just leaving it in my shower but not using it! You can buy FCUK products including this one from most Boots stores and a 500ml container costs £5 normally. They do actually have it on the Boots website for £3.33 at the moment which isn't a bad offer for the amount you are buying. Personally, I am glad I have tried this product but I don't think I would buy it again and definately wouldn't ask for it as a present unlike some other body products. I don't really rate it as good as some of the other products in the FCUK range. There are better products and better offers out there! But do try it if you are intrigued like I was!
I have been using the FCUK body wash for a few weeks now. I originally received it as part of a gift set for my birthday, along with the body scrub, lotion and spray. Although you can buy a 500ml version at boots for £5, or a smaller 75ml travel mini for £2.25. ~~ Packaging ~~ In the gift set I received the 75ml version. It is basically a small bottle, with a screw off lid. The bottle is clear with a green tint, and you can see the gel inside which is a yellowish - green colour. The bottle has a leaf / berry design over it which looks quite modern and simple - in a good way. The 500ml version has a pump dispenser. On the label it claims to 'help keep skin firm, moisturised, refreshed and conditioned. ~~ The smell ~~ The smell is described as ''A soft floral oriental scent built around a delicious fusion of violet, pepper and vanilla notes'' The gel smells very floral and sweet. It isn't a strong, over powering smell, but enough to notice. It is quite a fresh smell though and it lingers in the shower. However the smell doesn't last on the skin. ~~ Using the product ~~ The gel is quite thin, and just runs out of the bottle, so you do tend to end up using more than you need to, I think. It does lather well, and you end up lots of white bubbles, but you do need quite a lot of the gel to get a good lather. The gel does leave you feeling fresh afterwards, and it doesn't leave your skin feeling dry either, so thats a plus. ~~ Verdict ~~ The smell is very sweet, and I'm not a fan of these kinds of smells in body washes, but it doesn't last - so it's not too bad. You're left feeling fresh and clean, but for £5 I just don't think it's worth it, and I don't think I would bother buying it again. If you want to try it out, maybe it's worth going for the travel mini first to see if it's for you.
I received this as part of a Christmas present along with other FCUK products. The price in Boots for this product is currently £5.00. The product is described as a fresh smelling gel which produces a creamy foam and helps keep the skin moisturised and firm. The gel is contained in a plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. Firstly, if you are planning to use this in the shower, it is not the easiest type of dispenser to use. The actual pump part is relatively small and in order for the bottle to stay upright you need to hold it in one hand whilst pumping the bottle in the other. It also releases a very small amount of the gel, and you would need quite a few pumps before there is enough to wash your body with. As for the gel, it does have a fresh smell to it, but this is not really strong enough. You can just about smell it if you hold it close enough to your nose, but having washed all over with it, it does not leave a smell on your skin. In addition, it does not "produce a creamy foam". Having used quite a substantial amount, I still find it hard to get any sort of lather from it. It does leave your skin feeling clean, but not particularly well moisturised, and I certainly do not feel any firmer than I did before I used it. There is nothing particularly wrong with the product. It certainly isn't offensive in any way, but I think that may be the problem - it is really boring and nothing stands out. The smell is hardly there, the gel doesn't really foam, and it doesn't really moisturise or firm the skin. The only outstanding factor is the price - it certainly is not worth £5.00!
I received this as part of an FCUK Gift Set last Christmas (Came with Body Spray too!). I find that the product lathered very well especially when used with a bath scrunchy. I found the smell very refreshing & it lingered on my skin just long enough to last until I had finished using body lotion and applied some perfume. The 200ml probably lasted me about 6 months of fairly regular usage and I found that I only needed two pumps to have a full body wash. The product has a shelf life once opened of 24 months but if you were using this product regularly you wouldn't find it lasting anywhere near as long as that as there is only 200ml in the bottle. The giftset which I received was very well packaged and I would definitely recommend this product as one for regular use as it got me clean and smelt nice which is all you need from a body wash really isn't it! You can also find this review on ciao.co.uk under the same title, username katyeverett :)
I was given this and with shower gel I am really not in the slightest bit fussy, if it gets me clean that is enough for me! This lathered reasonably well but was quite thin so hard to control. My skin was left looking and feeling clean. This is a slightly green colour which you expect to be fresh scented but it isn't... The smell of it is the drawback here as it is a strong floral scent that is just sickly sweet and has no real redeeming features to it at all! Luckily I didn't find the scent of this lingered on my skin too much, it was easily covered by using a ice smelling body lotion and once I was wearing perfume it couldn't be detected at all. I finished up the whole bottle but wont be looking to buy it, ever! If I am given it I will use it but only because I hate to waste things! At £5 it isn't the cheapest, there are far better products out there that cost much less!
