~Guess I'm Yours Shower Gel~
Guess I'm Yours fragranced shower gel is something that I bought as part of a fragrance gift after having seen the set at a greatly reduced price. The set I bought contained a small sized tube of of I'm Yours shower gel, the matching body cream and the EDT spray. The Guess Seductive I'm Yours range was something that I hadn't considered buying from previously as I was unfamiliar with its fragrance, but as the set was such a bargain price I believed it was well worth trying. In use found this shower gel to be lightly scented, easy to use and kind to the skin, although it didn't have that luxury feel I hoped it would.
This fragrance range has a bright, girly pink theme with a little bit of bling added by way of the use of the Guess logo and some simple gold coloured detailing. I think that the use of bright colours on the product tube gives this shower gel an attractive feminine/ girly feel. The design style and colours used look young and vibrant in my opinion and may appeal most to younger body care and fragrance buyers. In use the product tube is easy to handle and well designed in my opinion. There is a flip top lid fitted to the tube that opens and closes with ease. The lid can also be used as a stand on which to balance the shower gel when it was not in use.
I found that the shower gel had a pleasing floral woody feel that matched the other products from the range that I have tried. The gel is easy to lather up with a shower puff which ensures that you get plenty of frothy bubbles to wash with, without wasting too much of the product. I feel that the the fragranced effect the gel has is pleasant but quite short lived. In my opinion the fragrance doesn't linger on the skin for very long once out of the shower, which is rather a shame. The gel is fairly gentle on the skin and didn't cause any dryness or redness after use. Over all I felt this product worked well enough as a shower gel, although it didn't feel like a luxury product.
I didn't really notice any skin softening effects or any extra hydration to the skin when using the gel, although I feel it worked well enough to give a fresh clean skin feel when I used it. The florals used to make up the gel include a mix of tiare flower, peony, passion fruit, lily, magnolia and vanilla orchid, all layered with patchouli, exotic woods and vetiver. Sadly I found that the list of impressive notes used in the product are almost instantly lost once you are out of the shower. I would have liked the gel more had it shown greater longevity as a fragranced body care product. I would say that the shower gel scented the shower area rather well, as it lasted far longer there than it did once on the skin.
~Price/ product rating~
The price of a full sized 200ml tube of shower gel varies greatly. The cheapest I have seen this on sale for is £2.99 online, which I feel is a fair price for an average product such as this one. Prices can be as high as £6/ £7 for per 200ml tube, which I feel is rather expensive for a shower gel that doesn't fragrance the skin for all that long. Smaller sized 75ml shower gels can be bought as part of larger fragrance gift sets, which can also contain the EDT and a matching body cream. I bought the gel as part of gift set which offered good value at around £10 for all 3 products mentioned in this review. My rating for this pleasant yet rather average shower gel is 3 stars, had it given more of a luxury feel I would have given it a higher product rating.
