“ Brand: Cussons Imperial Leather / Texture: Cream / Type: Shower Cream / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types „
Within my lovely bag of Christmas presents this year, I found more than a few toiletries. One of these lovely gifts was the Bewitching shower gel.
About the product
This shower product is a limited edition. It is apparently trying to recreate a 'twisted fairy tale' being dark and mysterious. It promises to cleanse and moisturise the skin using Blackberry Blossom and Wild Fig. It also claims that it will nourish the skin leaving it radiant, soft and clean. The added aroma means it should be a treat for the senses, as well as for the skin.
Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a purple bottle which curves slightly at the sides. You can see the product inside and there is a picture of butterflies on the front. The flip top lid is a deep purple colour and it is easy to open and close during use. The product will cost you around £1.99 for 250ml of the shower gel.
Appearance and Aroma
The product itself is a lovely deep purple colour which is packed full of shimmering particles and it does look beautifully magical and mysterious. There are almost swirls of gold in it and it really does look pretty both in the bottle and when dispensed. It has the consistency that you would expect from a shower gel.
The aroma is right up my street. It smells incredibly fruity and you can definitely detect the blackberries. It has the sweetness of the figs in it to and it is a lovely product for both the summer and the winter. It isn't artificial smelling or sickly sweet, and it isn't too strong or overpowering. I really love the aroma and so do the rest of my family.
Application and Performance
The product is easily dispensed from the bottle and it smell delicious straight away. I tend to use this applied to a sponge although I have also applied it straight to my skin. When applied with a sponge it creates masses of bubbles which make you feel like it is really getting you nice and clean. When applied straight to the skin, it feel silky and hydrating and you do more of the nourishing benefits when used in this way.
The product smells gorgeous throughout the process and the formula is gentle on my skin. It is easily rinsed away and once I have dried my skin, I really do feel fresh and clean. The aroma lingers lightly on my skin which I was really hoping that it would. My skin doesn't feel tight or uncomfortable, although it doesn't necessarily feel moisturised either.
All in all, this product looks and smells beautiful and it leaves me feeling fresh and clean. The aroma lingers on the skin and it is gentle as it cleanses. I would happily buy this again. There is a matching bath cream available if you find that you like this product.
Today I am going to tell you all about the Bewitching shower crème by Imperial Leather.
To be honest, it's the beautiful bottle that caught my attention! I was simply browsing at Boots when I came across the beautiful purple bottle with the interesting name Bewiching. The design looked so pretty, I just had to take a sniff. I ended up loving the scent and bought it!
So far I have used a few Imperial Leather products and ended up liking them all, so nothing was speaking against trying this one out!
The shower crème comes in a beautiful plastic bottle with a purple cap that you ca just snap open for easy use under the shower. On the top of the bottle you can see Imperial Leather' 's red logo. Below that, "Limited Editions" is written in very pretty letters. The mid-section of the bottle is decorated with beautiful swirly ornaments.
The product's name "Bewitching" is given on the lowest part of the bottle and it is stated that it smells like blackberry blossom and wild fig.
On the back of the bottle, further information about the product is given. The "Bewitching" shower crème is supposed to embody "the spirit of Twisted Fairytales" in their "dark variant", "standing for all that is mysterious and foreboding, creating a truly bewitching showering experience". The shower crème is supposed to combine beautiful, signature fragrances and decadent, suspended shimmers" to create a special shower crème that will help your skin feel "renewed and radiant".
The ingredient wild fig is nown to help nourish and moisture the skin while Blackberry Blossom fraqrance "uplifts your soul".
Of course the ingredients are listed as well. The product was manufactured in England and contains 250ml.
I was really excited about using this product because the packaging just looks so pretty and the scent was fabulous when I gave it a quick sniff at the shop.
The shower crème itself is purple with a hint of glitter. When you rub it over your skin it builds up and nice lather that glitters, inviting you to get dreamy! It's easy to rinse off and the shimmer doesn't stay on your skin.
The scent is amazing! This product smells fruity and mysterious at the same time. The scent is warm and deep without being too heavy. I really love it! If you like it fruity but still elegant, this one is perfect for you!
I was satisfied with the product's impact on my skin. The shower crème cleans your nicely and makes you feel fresh without drying out your skin. I felt really good after using it and my skin was in good condition! If you need extra care, you might want to use a body lotion afterwards. Anyone with normal to just a little dry skin will do well with this one.
The bottle will last you quite a while as you only need a little dollop of it to rinse yourself completely!
My skin didn't show any bad reactions, but if you are an allergic or have very senisitive skin, check the ingredients before buying!
Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Acrylates / Steareth-20 Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Glycerin, PEG-6 Caprylic / Capric Glycerides, Parfum, Rubus fruticosus (Blackberry) Fruit Extract, Ficus carica (Fig) Fruit Extract, Lithium Magnesium Sodium Silicate, Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate, Methylisothiazolinone, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Magnesium Chloride, Magnesium Nitrate, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium hydroxide, Benzotriazolyl Dodecyl p-Cresol, Silica, Calcium Aluminium Borosilicate, Mica, Tin Oxide, Limonene, CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 17200, CI 42090.
You can buy this one at Boots for £1.89, but quite often it's on sale for £1.00, making it quite a bargain!
I love this one! The scent is fruiy, dreamy and elegant at the same time and the shimmer effect makes it more fun to use under the shower. The packaging makes it a real eye-candy in your bathroom, so I'm happy all over with it!
I had never seen Imperial Leather's Bewitching Shower cream until I went into Home Bargains a little while ago and found a fairly large bottle for only 89p on the shelf. There were quite a few different types to choose from at the time, but I chose this one because I liked the name and also I really liked the colour - a sort of vivid purple.
I usually shower during the week and have time for baths only at weekends when I am not at work. I really enjoy trying out new and different types of shower creams and gels and as this was new, I was eager to see how it performed in the shower. I always use my body puff in the shower, whether I use a gel or a cream or even just plain old soap. I use the puff as I always think it helps to make whatever I am using to clean myself with foam and lather up much better and it also means I have to use less product.
This gorgeous shower cream has a lovely thick consistency and really I only ever need to use the tiniest amount on my body puff to give e enormous amounts of bubbles and foam. The smell is really fruity and musky with a gentle background floral fragrance at the same time. It really is heavenly to use as it feels really thick and luxurious on my skin. In fact, it makes me want to stay in the shower longer and I don't want to get out.
It rinses off well and afterwards my skin feels gorgeously soft and smooth and gently cleansed. It doesn't sting or irritate and the lovely fragrance seems to settle on my skin afterwards and last me a god couple of hours after I have got out of the shower.
For only 89p it really is an impressive product though as it's by one of my favourite brands, Imperial Leather, that really doesn't surprise me.
A gorgeous shower cream and one I most definitely recommend.
This really is a bewitching smell! A girlie yet seductive scent and the gel leaves you with a little sparkle on your skin and a spring in your step. The smelly goodness bursts into the air and smothers you in a comforting scent surrounding you in the shower. It leaves you feeling refreshed and soft yet calm and alluring also. I must also add, it puts you in the mood! You will smell irresistibly good to your partner and anyone near you. I seriously recommend this! The packaging is really pretty and girlie with its butterflies and I love the pretty purple colour the actual shower gel is. The smell of blackberry blossom and wildfig I can only describe as insanely luscious. Your skin also has a slight glow to it. This shower gel also lathers up very well and so you only have to use a little bit and it goes a long way. It's really reasonably priced and it will be with you a long long time as it really lasts.
WHAT IS IT?
Shower cream from Imperial Leather.
The fragrance of this Bewitching shower gel is blackberry and wild fig, I think it's very fruity but there is a little bit of a flowery frangrance it in as well. It does not smell strong but I like that the smell lasts on my skin for quite a long time.
WHAT I THINK
I like this shower cream very much and am surprised that it was so cheap in price. I like how many bubbles it makes because they cover my body and are very thick and make me feel very clean. You do not need to use very much and to wash with it I use only a very small amount of cream on my sponge.
Mu skin always feels clean when I have washed using this shower cream and it is very moisturising as well, my skin feels softer after I have used it and I think smoother also. I like the feel of my skin after I have had a shower using this shower cream and sometimes I use it to wash my hands because if they feel dry it will get them moisturised again.
I would not use it to wash my hair because it feels a little bit oily in my fingers and I would be concerned that it was going to make my hair oily. It does not leave my body feeling greasy but because it is a cream I think it is quite a heavy product for my skin so I make sure I rinse it all off carefully.
I paid only about 80p for this bottle of shower gel and the other varieties were on the same price promotion, they are usually costed at about £1.60 so that is very good value because of how effective and nice to use the shower cream is. I will buy it again because it is very pleasing to use and makes my skin feel very clean.
5 Dooyoo Stars.
== Imperial Leather Bewitching Shower Creme ==
Just today I re-purchased this from Superdrug for the bargain price of 82p, [R.R.P. £1.89] I also bought the matching bubble bath for 99p [ R.R.P. £1.59 ]. This is the 4th or 5th time I have purchased this shower creme in this scent and it has become a bit of a favourite.
I first bought it because it was one I hadn't seen before , and it's purple and I love purple . Once I read the scent was blackberry blossom and wild fig it was straight in my basket without the need of a sneaky sniff test as fruit based scents are my favourite.
== The Shower Creme ==
Is made by the Cussons brand Imperial Leather , Imperial Leather started back in 1768 with a perfumers in Bond Street and are now a global company selling in over 50 countries, and consider themselves experts in fragrance.
The Shower creme comes in a 250 ml bottle with a flip lid and small hole opening. The lid is easy to open and clips tightly shut so if you drop it in the bath it won't let the water in.
The creme itself is a gorgeous amethyst purple with a tiny glitter shimmery fleck that gives it a metallic look. The glittery bits don't stay on the skin at all . It is a nice consistency and only needs a gentle squeeze of the bottle to disperse. If you turned the bottle upside down while open it would drip out as opposed to running out .
I tend to use this with a sponge in the bath and a body puff in the shower. With a sponge a medium sized blob , about the size of a tea light candle will give enough lather for a whole body wash . With the body puff you don't need as much due to the puff making more lather . I bath or shower everyday but do prefer a bath and use 3- 4 blobs so a bottle normally lasts me about 2 weeks .
It is also Dermatologically tested , skin friendly pH and has triple moisturing ingredients. It left my skin feeling soft and smooth and has caused no adverse effects on my slightly sensitive skin.
==The Scent ==
Described on the bottle as capturing the spirit of Twisted Fairytales in a 'dark' variant; standing for all that is mysterious and foreboding, creating a truly bewitching showering experience.
Blackberry Blossom & Wild Fig shower creme combines beautiful, signature fragrances and decadent, suspended shimmers, together in our sumptuous, luxury formulations. Let your skin feel renewed and radiant once more with our bewitching limited editions range - the ultimate indulgence for your senses.
Wild Fig is known to help nourish and moisturise the skin, whilst the Blackberry Blossom fragrance uplifts your soul - giving you a sense of wellbeing.
Now to be honest as lovely as all that sounds it is only shower product isn't it . So in real life what does it smell of , well first sniff and its very sweet and fruity . It almost has a fruit pudding smell about it . I can't help but think of the smell of a bakewell tart made with blackcurrant jam when I smell this . But as sweet as it it is, it is also nice and fresh and doesn't smell artificial at all .
The scent is quite strong and you can certainly smell it while using it . If used with the bubble bath or indeed just use a squirt of this as a substitute , the bathroom smells lovely .
Sadly the scent does not last on your skin , but I can't knock it for that, as I don't really think any shower product has staying power on the skin but it does leave you smelling and feeling fresh and clean .
== Thoughts ==
I really like this shower creme , it lathers up well , the smell is lovely and it leaves your skin feeling nice and soft. It does everything it's supposed to do and you can't really expect anything more of a shower product. It's not too expensive at normal price , but I do try to buy what's on offer and have had no problem so far finding this is Boots and Superdrug as well as supermarkets so between them this comes up on offer quite often.
5 out of 5.
Imperial Leather is probably a household name, and has certainly been around a long time. I remember as a child, my grandmother always used to have a bar of the cream-coloured Imperial Leather soap on her bath - the kind with the little label in the middle of the bar. The company's history actually dates back much further than that - to the eighteenth century when the original Imperial Leather scent was first created, so it's definitely a brand with a lot of history behind it. That always gives me confidence in a brand, although this is probably ridiculous! Anyway, apart from the bars of soap, Imperial Leather now makes a range of shower and bath products as well as liquid hand washes. Here I'm looking at one of their limited edition shower products: Bewitching.
According to Imperial Leather, Bewitching (which the company refers to as a shower creme) "evokes all the dark mystery of a fairytale. This amethyst liquid will wrap you in luxurious lathers, decadent shimmers and our fine fragrances". What drew me to this product initially was the lovely deep purple colour of the gel (or creme, if you must!), which has a slight shimmer. I'm a bit of a toiletry fiend and can spent eons browsing the shower and bath products aisles when doing my shopping, and this product really caught my eye, particularly as it claimed to be a limited edition. The scent is apparently Blackberry Blossom and Wild Fig, and when I opened the bottle in the shop to sniff it, I detected a lovely aroma of blackberry. I'm not quite sure what blackberry blossom smells of in real life (in fact, I didn't even know blackberry brambles had flowers, but still - live and learn, thanks Imperial Leather!!). As for the scent of fig, wild or not, I couldn't identify this if my life depended on it. All I can say is that I liked the scent on initial sniff.
A 250 ml bottle seems to be variously priced at between £1 and £2, but it's quite easy to find it on offer for £1, as I did. It seems to be available in Superdrug, Boots, and various supermarkets.
I've quite liked this shower crème, particularly because it's quite an unusual colour and the shimmer makes it a bit different. It brightens up my bathroom window ledge and is pleasant to use. Although I was quite taken with the scent to start with, when using it I've not found it to be so captivating and can no longer detect any identifiable blackberry-ness and certainly haven't been transported to any fairy tales - what a shame! It's more of a generic fruity smell to my nose. The product's consistency is fairly thick, and it creates a decent lather. I feel it's fairly moisturising (this must be because it's a crème rather than gel!). Overall, it's a pleasant shower gel with a fairly nice scent, well-priced, but nothing particularly special.
As for the packaging, the bottle is a kind of 'wavy' shape, which makes it easy to hold on to with wet hands. The bottle is made of transparent plastic, which I like because you can easily see how much you've got left and won't suddenly run out mid-shower.
So, would I buy this again? Probably, if it was on offer and there was nothing that grabbed my attention more - it's a good product but nothing amazing to write home about.
Thanks for reading!
Another review of a product from my shower gel stash. On we go...
This comes in the usual plastic bottle which is slightly curved in shape. It has a flip-top lid so is easily dispensed. This particular version has a purple lid, and the main bottle is clear plastic so you can see the glossy purple shower gel inside. There is a silver design on the front which makes the bottle look really lovely - I love the combination of purple and silver so this is a bottle I would happily have on display in the bathroom.
Imperial Leather say this shower gel stands 'for all that is mysterious and foreboding, creating a truly bewitching bathing experience.' Okay whatever, I find blurb like that to be a load of slightly pretentious crap but if it works for some fair enough!
This comes in a 500ml bottle which is the only size available.
SMELL AND APPEARANCE
This is purple in colour and a little on the runny side, but not so much that you will lose it all down the plughole.
This particular Imperial Leather shower gel is Blackberry Blossom & Wild Fig. When you flip open the lid, the smell is immediately fruity, like ripe and juicy blackberries. I smelt this in the supermarket before purchasing and thought it smelt lovely. When I squeezed it out, I could still smell the fruitiness, but...
...as I began to lather this up, the smell of what I presume was the wild fig came through, and I just found it very strange. I can't even describe it - a little on the earthy side perhaps? I personally did not like this smell and to me it was reminiscent of the smell of something you would clean the toilet with.
On the plus side, this lathered up really brilliantly, and created lots of lovely soft white bubbles which felt very luxurious against the skin. In that respects I cannot fault it at all, as it really was lovely to use.
My skin felt really soft and cleansed after using this. I could smell the shower gel on my skin after usage, but thankfully it was more the fruity aspects of the scent which I genuinely liked.
This normally costs around £1.53 but it is currently on offer in Sainsbury's for £1. I would not have bought this if it had been full price as I go through shower gels too quickly to really spend much money on them.
WOULD I BUY THIS AGAIN?
If it was on offer, and the other Imperial Leather scents were not available, I would buy this again if I was in urgent need of some shower gel. If not, I'd plump for a different smell rather than this one. Some will love the smell of this, but it just wasn't for me.
Christmas 2012 was no different to others in the fact that I received a very large gift bag from my mother in law containing a wide variety of toiletries. I have been receiving these bags for years as has my other half, his brother and sister in law. Basically my mother in law buys toiletries if on offer throughout the year and therefore her aim is to save us all a little money and these gift bags do certainly last for the year!
One item I received was the Imperial Leather Bewitching Bath Crème in Blackberry Blossom and Wild Fig. I do quite like Imperial Leather products as they are always quite reasonably priced, constantly it seems on offer and they have a wide variety. The Bewitching Bath Crème in Blackberry Blossom and Wild Fig (or bath crème from now on!) is a limited edition and therefore only available for a certain period of time.
== Bewitching ==
The bath crème is as I have said a limited edition and is meant purely for using in the bath rather than the shower. According to Imperial Leather "Our Bewitching bath creme evokes all the dark mystery of a fairytale. This amethyst liquid will wrap you in luxurious bubbles and our fine fragrances, Blackberry Blossom and Wild Fig". The colour of the liquid and the scent it gives certainly has a luxurious look to it.
== Packaging ==
The bath crème comes in a tall clear plastic bottle which is slightly curved at the one side. It basically just looks like a taller version of the shower gels but the bath crème comes in a 500ml bottle. The clear bottle clearly shows the colour of the bath crème but on the outside depicts images of white butterflies, the Imperial Leather logo and product name. On the back it features information about the product, ingredients - basically the usual info. The top is plastic and purple in colour matching the bath crème.
== In Use ==
The first thing you obviously notice about this bath crème is the colour of it, a deep purple with metallic hues it is undenying easy on the eye and of course the richness of the colour gives a very luxurious feel to it. The consistency is surprising as it isn't as thick as you'd expect but it does pour out of the bottle easily although it can come out quite suddenly so you do have to be careful not to waste it.
The fragrance it has is really lovely, it has a fruitiness to it which reminds you of winter berries which is sweet yet not a sickly sweet tone. It has an incredibly warming side to it which is lovely especially on these snowy evenings where you need to de-frost. The aroma does linger once you are in the bath which is nice as it fills the whole bathroom. It doesn't however stay on your skin post-bath which is fine for me.
To use you simply pour under warm running water until the white frothy bubbles start to appear. You only need to use a small amount for these thick, white frothy bubbles appear so the one bottle will last for quite some time. Despite being a deep purple colour the bath water doesn't change and remains crystal clear. It is then at this point you find yourself being surrounded by the beautiful berry like fragrance.
In the bath the water is incredibly soft the touch which makes your skin feel quite silky which is lovely as it doesn't seem to dry out your skin post-bath. The bath crème doesn't promise to be a moisturising or nourishing product so don't be disappointed if your skin isn't incredibly moisturised afterwards although it does leave your skin soft you will need to us a body lotion/cream/butter.
== Overall ==
This is one bath crème I could use over and over again simply because of it's smell which is lovely. Although it is sweet it has a bit more depth than those bath products with sickly sweet smells and has a lovely warming side to it. The aroma lingers around during the bath and it provides a decent amount of thick white bubbles which are velvety soft. A really nice bath crème which is just as luxurious as a more expensive one but it won't break the bank. A definite recommendation and easily 5 stars.
== Product Information ==
Brand: Imperial Leather
Price: From £1.00 onwards
Whilst preparing to go to my mums for Christmas I felt the need to stock up on a few new toiletries. My mum and stepdads house has a shower which I don't in my home so I grabbed a couple of bottles of showers gels and shower creams and the likes, spotted this one in my local Poundland store costing of course just a pound and I liked the look of the bottle and what it is was called and that's basically why I bought it!
The packaging of this is rather nice and looks really good quality. The bottle is see through plastic and slightly curvy indesign though stands up well and it has a dark purple flip top lid to the top of it then on the front of it we are told that it is Imperial Leather 'Limited Editions', Bewitching 'Blackberry Blossom & Wild Fig' Shower creme and there is a metallic silver coloured pattern on it too then on the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told a bit about the product, the ingredients and size is stated (which is 250ml) and contact details for the manufacturer are listed. I like being able to see the shimmery dark purple gel like shower creme though the bottle as well so I know when I need to buy another bottle...whether it be this or something else of course.
The shimmery, transparent liquid is very gel like, not a thin one but not too thick and a little of this goes a very long way indeed. The fragrance of this is a real winner for me, totally feminine and unusual and I have to admit...I love it! Its sort of fruity and really well blended with the fig and blackberry smell but soft as well with a gentle but natural sweetness and not overly or in your face fruit fragranced due to a light floral sort of fragrance to it as well. Although shimmery as well this doesn't seem to contain glitter which personally I'm thankful for. Who wants that on their skin or all over the shower anyway! I can shave my bits and bobs in the shower with this with ease as well! Its all round great this one!
It lathers up into a really great, thick white lather, feels smooth on my skin in use and leaves me feeling really clean and very gently but not overly so moisturised. The scent lingers on my skin all day long as well.
This does everything I wanted to and more as its really kind to my skin and so this gets a huge thumbs up from me. Even my mum tried this one out when she had a shower and commented on how nice it was to use and she loved the smell so yep one I shall certainly buy in the future whether I find it on offer or not or have to pay its usual £2.00 (ish) price tag in places like Boots and all other good supermarkets and chemists!
