I really love a good bubble bath, they are so comforting and relaxing and more enjoyable than just having a quick wash in the shower. I get through loads of bath products because of this, and I can't stand having a bath without bubbles, it is one of the saddest experiences ever. I bought this Imperial Leather SKinkind bubble bath recently as it was reduced to just 80-something pence in Boots. There are several products within the Skinkind range, and this one is the "hydrate" variety. Imperial Leather isn't a brand that particularly appeals to me, but this variety sounded nice as it contains cotton extract and oat milk, and has also been voted "product of the year 2011" according to the packaging.

Product description: "Skinkind bath milk is made with light, natural, moisturising ingredients, allergen free fragrances and without added colour - so you can soak to your heart's content, knowing that your skin is clean, healthy and cared for. Hydrate, with cotton extract and oat milk, helps to soothe, protect and lightly moisturise sensitive skin - without causing irritation."

The bath milk comes in a curvy plastic bottle and contains 500ml of product. The plastic is clear so you can easily see how much product is left within the bottle. I found the cap a little difficult to handle smetimes as it sort of pops on and off and you have to give quite a firm grip and twist to use it properly which is best done with dry hands. The bath milk itself is a plain white colour and dissolves into bath water easily without leaving any colourant behind.

To use, you simply pour under hot running water and wait for the bubbles to appear. I like to use quite a generous amount of the bath milk as I like to have big heaps of bubbles around me when I bathe. Because I poured in a fairly large amount each time this 500ml bottle only managed to last me for 3 weeks of use. Not great, but not at all bad for the price I paid, and I think it's reasonable value for money.

The scent of the bath milk is mild but pleasant and has a sweet hint to it thanks to the yummy oat milk. I really like the fragrance but it is quite delicate and can easily be overpowered as soon as I start using my other products. The bath milk does give a nice amount of light frothy bubbles and these last well through the duration of my baths. It is designed for use on sensitive skin, and it does feel gentle, however I was disappointed that I did not notice any hydrating effects. When I was bathing I couldn't feel the bath milk softening my skin and afterwards it did not seem to have moisturised at all and I had to follow up with a good dose of body lotion. I thought this was a bit disappointing as it didn't really do what it was supposed to. I don't have particularly sensitive skin on my body, it's fairly well balanced and I only have dry patches in the usual problems spots such as the heels of my feet, knees and elbows. It does seem gentle enough to suit sensitive skins, but seeing as it didn't moisturise my mostly normal skin, I don't expect it would do much in that respect either.

Overall I like the scent of this bath milk and it does give a nice bubbly effect in the bath, but it just doesn't really perform properly as a skin treatment. An average bath product that I wouldn't rush to buy again.
