“ Brand: Cussons / Type: Shower Gel / Suitable for: Body / What it does: Detoxes, „
I stocked up on Imperial Leather Shower Gel before Christmas. I didn't need Shower Gel but needed 2 male ones to put in with presents. Asda was doing these for £1 each or 4 for £3. Since I like a bargain I got the 4 of them and kept 2 for myself. The offer was over the whole of the Imperial Leather Shower Gel range which was quite a few different scents. I seen the same offer in Asda about 2 weeks ago when I was there as well so it makes me think that this offer is on quite a lot.
This is in a 250ml bottle. The bottle has a slight shape to it and is a nice light blue colour. I would say it is a sort of Icy Blue. The stick on label on the front and back look ok and there isn't much colouring apart from the Imperial Leather red branding and different shades of blue. After reading the blurb on the back which states that this has Icelandic Moss, Wild Thyme and Sea Minerals in it I was expecting this to smell quite herbal and gritty.
The Gel is quite thick and a little blob goes a long way. I use this on a Shower Puff and although I am still using this Gel I would hazard a guess and say you will get at least 20 goes out of it.
The scent is nice. Not quite what I was expecting from this. It smells like a fresh airy scent with a little what perhaps smells like a hint of mintyness in it. I also think this had a slight citrus tang to it, which I wasn't expecting.
This was a nice enough Shower Gel. It cleans, makes you feel fresh and seems to moisturise a little as well, but there is other scents out there that I like a bit more than this one.
Nice if you like Sea scents and a worthwhile try especially at the price.
As with the previous one's I have mentioned (see previous shower gel reviews), this is another favourite in our house, one for the smell and two for the fact it is on an ongoing offer at Asda!
The shower gel I will now review is - "Imperial leather - Icelandic spa"
The bottle is the same throughout the range, with the annoying "modern" looking lid that cannot be stood upside down, meaning that I can't let every single drop drip into the applicator end to remove every last bit..... Anyway!
The gel is a lovely sea green colour, this I assume is to represent the blue of the sea, and there are lots of little delicate snowflakes on the bottle, to represent, again I assume....Iceland! (Though a picture of Coleen would have been more appropriate, but anyway!)
This is stated to be a limited edition "flavour" and says it contains Icelandic moss, wild thyme and sea minerals.
I always use my gels with a body puff as I feel it gets more lather for less product. After squeezing a small amount onto said puff I notice the lovely smell.
The smell if I'm being truthful doesn't smell like any of the afore mentioned ingredients, the scent is very citrusy, almost like a fresh grapefruit scent, very appealing!
Once agitated the lather appears very quickly and with abundance, this foam is so thick I can actually get away with shaving my legs with it, rather than buying a separate foam.
Once rinsed off the scent lingers subtly and my skin feels soft and cleansed and in no way irritated.
The product states that this is detoxifying gel, I have no idea what it is meant to be detoxifying but I do feel that it has left me feeling clean and fresh, so that is all I am bothered about!

Pricewise at Asda at present they are running a "4 for £3.00" offer on most of there shower gels, alternatively they can be purchased for the sum of £1.00, which compared to some places is till a saving of around 50p.
Thanks for reading x
I was so convinced by the Imperial Leather Hawaiian Spa shower gel that I would have never considered buying anything else. Unfortunately it was sold out last time I went to Superdrugs so I bought the Imperial Leather Icelandic Spa. The scent is totally different; the Hawaiian Spa is lovely sweet and the Icelandic Spa refreshing and vitalising.
It's hard to decide which one I prefer but I guess that the Icelandic Spa is my favourite in summer, when it's so hot it is just better to have a refreshing fragrance than a rather heavy sweet scent.
Look & Smell
The bottle is light blue with a blue/shiny cap. On the front is the red Imperial Leather logo and in white/blue the images of snowflakes.
Unfortunately it seems that this is a limited edition - arg, I better go to the shop now and buy some more before they are sold out too!
On the back the label promises us to 'revive your skin with this cool, ozonic blend of Icelandic Moss, refreshing Wild Thyme and crisp Sea Minerals inspired by Icelandic Spa Rituals'.
Furthermore, the label informs us that the shower gel is 100% soap free, is dermatologically tested, is mild enough for the whole family and has a skin friendly pH level.
Especially the 100% soap free is a big plus point, my skin is quite difficult and using normal soap normally ends in a disaster.
The shower cream itself is light blue - almost translucent - and creamy, almost a bit runny. It's a lovely texture as I really hate sticky gels that resemble rubber bulbs when squeezed out of the bottle.
The smell is what convinced me the most; the refreshing scented gel smells of citrus fruits and a bit of the thyme that was used. It's unisex so both of you can use it; I'm always so annoyed when I'm running out of shower gel and have to use the wannabe manly shower gel my boyfriend uses.
The scent will stay with you for several hours and if I could buy it as a perfume I'd probably get it straight away.
The shower gel is quite creamy and easy to use. You don't need much at all (less than a handful is enough) and it creates lovely foam.
I sometimes have the impression that certain shower gels don't leave me with a clean feeling but here everything is fine, you'll leave the bath with this great freshly showered feeling accompanied by this wonderful scent.
My skin feels very soft and smooth after using the gel and there's absolutely no burning or irritation to feel while or after using it. It definitely refreshed me and I had the impression that it also had a light cooling effect - which is great given the current heat wave.
I cannot really say anything about the 'detoxifying' effect but it definitely left me with an energised and hydrated skin.
Price & Value
I bought the shower gel that comes in a 250ml bottle for 98 pence at Superdrugs but you can get them cheaper at Tosco's when they are on offer. Boots is a bit on the expensive site here with 1.49 for the same bottle of shower gel.
1 pound is a good price for a shower gel especially one that smells so good and addictive; I'll definitely buy it again and can highly recommend it. It doesn't always have to be the expensive brand; the Imperial Leather smells incredibly good, you have a huge choice of differently scented shower gels and they really leave you with a soft skin - trust the promise that your skin will be 'huggable & snuggable'.
The Icelandic Spa gets 10 out of 10!
