“ Brand: Imperial Leather. / Type: Shower Gel / Suitable for: Body „
I have got to say when the foambust range by imperial leather first came out i was a little bit sketchy about it all and a little reluctant to try it but now... i love it!! It says on the tin itself you can get around 40 showers worth out of it but i suppose it all depends on who uses it and how much they use. Ours seems to last the week but with that there is two adults and two children and our daughter, 5, is a little heavy handed and loves the fact it bubbles so thats probably where half of it goes haha. It smells fresh, it looks great. When it first comes out its like a coloured gel then as soon as you start to put it on your body thats when the foamburst comes into effect. One tiny little bit turns into loads so you dont actually need to squirt loads out as you will find it covers more than it looks like it will and they all seem to smell amazing. great smell for men women and kids.
Just recently I have been working my way through the Imperial Leather 'foamburst range'. I don't have a shower in my flat, only a bath so sometimes I go to my best mates and enjoy one there and in return she uses my bath. I snapped this one up a while ago in Tesco as there was an offer on this range at the time with any two being a fiver and I thought that was a reasonable price to pay for something that boasts over 40 showers!
The can holds 200ml of the product and is a blue in colour and on the front of it we are told that it is Cussons Imperial Leather Foamburst Ocean Spa Foaming Shower Gel. On the back of the can other information listed includes being told a bit about the product and how to use it, the ingredients and the size are given and contact details for the manufacturer are listed. Lovely packaging, I do like the easy to press dispenser to the top of it and in my opinion this has a very unisex look to it too even though it is a blue colour.
Well as I have already mentioned this is meant to give us 40 uses from this one can however I am heavy handed with all of my bath, shower and body products and find that I've had about 20 washes in total with this and only have a couple left.
The gel dispensed is a blue in colour and partially goes to foam. It does have a sea fresh kind of aroma to it thats all I can say really about it and the fact that this is a very unisex fragrance, pleasant and refreshing.
This feels nice and soft on the skin, I can shave my bits and pieces if I want to with it and it rinses off with ease too. This leaves me with no feeling of residue left on my skin at all, my skin feels very subtly moisturised (thought not greasy or anything negative like that) and rather refreshed and above all clean. The fragrance of this lingers on my skin for a good couple of hours as well.
This isn't my favourite fragrance from this range I have to be honest about that and I do prefer something that smells a bit more feminine however its kind to my skin and probably a very good family bathroom product!
Available in all good supermarkets and chemists.

I am a huge fan of the Imperial Leather brand in general, but the selection of foaming shower gel products in the 'Foamburst' range from the brand have really proven to be a big hit with me, and I have loved most of the varieties in the range.
A new addition to the range of foaming shower gels caught my eye a few months back, whilst I was shopping in a local branch of Boots. The Imperial Leather "Ocean Spa Foamburst" cost around £2 for the can, which is a fairly generous 200ml in size.
The product's size is even more generous when you consider that I am informed on the back of the can that there are "Over 40 Showers In Every Pack". Whilst I would not normally pay around the £2 mark for a basic, everyday shower gel product, the luxurious feel of the Foamburst, together with the amount of use I can obtain from one can, do make it a fairly economical product, in my opinion.
The Ocean Spa Foamburst shower gel comes in a container that is quite unusual for a shower gel product; there is no plastic bottle, no flip up plastic cap and no see-through plastic to see the liquid shower gel product itself. Instead, the Foamburst is packaged in a metal tin, that looks to me like an anti-perspirant deodorant or a body spray or something similar. There is a plastic lid at the top of the metal tin within which there is an indent which dispenses the product when pressed. The difference with THIS Foamburst shower gel, when compared to other versions that I have purchased in the past, is that it seems to be a much more 'unisex' product, rather than being aimed at only female consumers.
This theory is confirmed when it comes to dispensing the product from the metal canister; instead of a peach or pink coloured gel as is most often the case with other products from the Foamburst range, the Ocean Spa Foamburst is a rich blue colour, which matches the turquoises and blues in the product's packaging.
For anyone who is unfamiliar with Foamburst products, the gel is much denser than other shower gel products, its consistency being more like a sort of thicker gelled 'paste' that foams easily - and extremely generously - upon contact with water. I find that the foaming quality of the Foamburst products is extremely easy to achieve and so a very small amount of the gel product needs to be used, making the tin of product last a long time and the claims to this effect that are on the packaging ring true.
With a little of the gel on my flannel or sponge, the addition of water really makes the 'Foamburst' element of this product come into full force instantaneously. What transforms from the thick, gel-like paste is an absolute abundance of rich, creamy, luxuriously-foamy lather. This makes the product seem very rich and luxurious when I am using it and it seems to be extremely soft and gentle, fluffy even, on my tired skin. The thick foamy lather has a nourishing quality to it, or at least that is how it feels to me when I am using it, and I do not find it at all drying or harsh to use on my sensitive skin.
The fragrance of the product is the only thing that I find is at all disappointing for me. It is true to say that I wasn't sure what to expect from the Ocean Spa fragrance, but something with a sort of 'different' feel to it, or something that gave me the impression that it was something innovative would have been extremely welcome. What I found instead was that the Ocean Spa fragrance was very similar to many 'mainstream' or 'everyday' bath and shower products that I have used before, and this gave me the feeling that it was a more 'ordinary' product than I would have liked. Feeling as though it was slightly mundane and well, boring, the Ocean Spa Foamburst felt like it had a sort of 'sea minerals' element to it, which indeed ties in with the description on the packaging "Energising blend of refreshing sea kelp and birch bark." Whilst I am unfamiliar with these specific ingredients and their corresponding scents and fragrances, the description does seem spot-on with my experiences from using the product.
I would agree that there is a slightly more 'energising' quality to this product than with other Foamburst products, but not to the point that I feel completely energised and revitalised after using it. I think the omission of ingredients and fragrances that are softer, flowery or more feminine has resulted in a more 'robust' sort of overall fragrance, which is reasonably pleasant and nice enough to use, but without offering anything different or remotely unusual. My initial feelings that the product was more unisex than other offerings in the range was entirely correct, and the 'oceanic' feel to the products fragrance would be suitable for use by the whole family in my opinion.
As with all the products in the Imperial Leather Foamburst range that I have tried in the past, I have used the Ocean Spa when shaving my legs. Thanks to the thick, gel-like consistency of the product, and the thick, creamy, foamy lather that it produces, I find that Foamburst produces a sufficient lather to allow my razor to glide over my wet skin. This has proven to be useful when I am going on a short trip away as it means I only need to take one product instead of packing a separate shower gel and shaving foam. I have had no experience of any irritation to my sensitive skin when I have used the product in this way.
Overall, I would recommend the Imperial Leather Ocean Spa Foamburst, but I feel the recommendation is slightly half-hearted, mainly because the fragrance felt slightly mundane and as a result I felt more disappointed than I usually do with my beloved Foamburst range. I feel too that some of the other fragrances in the range are much more inspiring and enjoyable to use. The other aspects of the Ocean Spa were faultless however, and so I cannot complain too much! I also liked the fact that this version of the Foamburst was more unisex than some of the other versions I have tried out.
There is a whole range of products available from the Imperial Leather Foamburst range, which can be found in all good drugstores such as Superdrug and Boots, as well as larger supermarkets such as Tesco or Asda. Prices vary greatly, but are usually between £2 - £3.
