I was attracted to this particular Imperial Leather product for a few reasons.
Firstly, I often buy these products and have never had a problem with this brand and the cleanliness it provides. Secondly, they tend to be on offer in a range of places (and this includes rather large bottles!) which is fabulous. I recommend looking in a range of supermarkets e.g tesco, asda, sainsburys as well as superdrug, poundland *guess what - in here they are a £1!* and also boots (where sometimes they can be as little as 65p! Which is great. Thirdly, the colour of this bottle really intrigued me because I love this luscious velvet/purple colour, and thought it would smell as good as it looks.
However, despite the pretty packaging I wasn't as keen on this bottle as I have been on others one. I found that when I used it in the shower and also in the bath the smell was a bit masculine/strong, not feminine and girly like the other products. The colour is still gorgeous though! However, I ended up finishing the bottle off in a bath - which I must say did produce a tremendous amount of bubbles and I did feel very pampered. But I wouldn't buy this particular one again, simply because the smell was just to masculine and overpowering.
Prices - As above, prices really do differ everywhere. Sometimes it can be £1.80 and above, so I avoid buying at this cost. I always grab the offers, so 60-70p and no more than a pound. (Again check poundland out because it really does have imperial leather products at fantastic value).
So as much as I liked the colour of this, the price and the brand, this time it isn't for me and the smell just isn't as good as it has been before!
I have a skin condition so i worry what i use on my skin, But this bath cream is great leaves the skin feeling very smooth and soft and smells yummy.I has not irritated my skin at all unlike a lot of other products seem to good value for money as well i was lucky to buy one get on free will be stocking up on this
Imperial Leather! Just two words and instantly you know what I'm talking about. How big this brand is, and yet I've never used a single product. Founded in 1879, there have been many many generations to create and improve this brand. Which explains it's well known status I guess. Everybody ahs heard of Imperial Leather and many have grown up with their various soaps, creams and bodywashes. So I consider myself a cosmetic failure for having never tested a single product. Ever!!
**Cusson's Bath Cream**
I'll be honest, the first thing that attracted me to this product was in fact the price. Followed closely by the appealing packaging! It leapt out at me from the shelf with it's £1 price tag...cheaper than my bus fare home, and far more relaxing mind you. I am a self confessed cosmetic junkie. Pots and jars of all kind litter the house and even more bath creams, gels and bubbles. So, being a Friday, I decided to treat myself. And what was the harm in adding one more to my collection. It would stand unique against the doves and L'Occtaine's of my bathroom.
As one of the factors that drew me to this product, I have to admit, the packaging is fairly rad!! As with most imperial leather products, it has the curvature of the bottle. A unique quirk of there's that gives their products a little oomph factor on the shelf. The deep purple colour stands out from the crowd of whites and blues and all those "relaxation colours. It is a feminine, romantic and quite sophisticated colour....and it works. The 500ml bottle stands tall on the shelf also so it is not hard to track down if your on the hunt for it and if not, then it will be spotted anyway. A win win situation really!!
I think putting away some time for yourself, if only once a week for an hour or so, is important for everyone. And what better way to relax in a hot, frothy bath with some nice candles and a bit of music. I personally make time for this every sunday evening and I really look forward to it so to find a good bath cream to soak in is great. Jasmine and Cotton Milk seemed the perfect ingredients to a nice soak. Usually I would go for a lavender fragrance as that is proven to be a relaxing scent. But when I tested the smell of this in the shop, it was quite appealing. So for £1, what could be the harm really?
Am I satisfied? That is the age old question for every product isn't it. To be honest, for the price I paid I am 100% happy with this product. The scent was soothing and lasted the duration of the bath (about 30 mins). It wasn't pungent or horriblly sweet as some can be but the perfect mixture and perfect for relaxation. It mixed well in the warm water to create light bubbles and a bit of froth, which, as some tend to do, didn't fade away with movement or in time. I would reccomend it, even at its usual retail price of 1.85. Good value for a relaxing night. Looks great on my shelf too ;)
Now I have to start of being totally honest that I bought this product not beacuse of brand or scent or advertising but simply because the colour would look wicked in my bathroom!!!
I am however really pleased with my purchase as its lovely. The top took a few attempts to remove and place back on as you have to half turn it then pull it off and to replace it you need to line it up before turning it back to its original position. Really its only a small gripe and may be due to my arthritis in my hands.
On the upside the secent was simply awesome and it achieved a huge amount of bubbles from just 2 capfuls, my daughter almost submerged from view when she dived into the bath and just sat there giggling as she was super impressed!. I found that it also left my skin feeling soft and caused no irratation to anyone in the families skin.
The bubble bath was a lovely rich colour but the bottle itself is clear so as I used it up i was not left with a matching bottle anymore but just made me all the more eager to go and buy another bottle.
If your into body washes that create lots and lots of lushously fragrant bubbles to pick up your mood and leave you smelling gorgous when you jump into bed this is one not to be missed! Its long lasting aroma fills the bathroom as you relax in a nice hot bath or lather up in an energising shower. Its great value for money at just 80p at the moment in Sainsburys normal retail price is just over a pound at £1.40.A small amount bubbles right up and can easily be used as a bubble bath should you wish too kill two birds with one stone. The Jasmine properties fill your senses with delight whilst the Cotton Milk calms you right down. Its an amzing product.A regular in my bathroom and I very much doubt it will leave anyone with dissapointment. My daughter is two years old and I use a little bit in her bath also she has never had any dry skin or rashes caused by the product so it must also be sensitive to delicate skin types.I would highly recommend this product to anyone who like to enjoy the pure pleasure of a fragrant bath or shower.
i love imperial leather. i use the products all the time and always find then luxurious, soft and smooth. a great way to relax after a long hard day at work! i alwasy buy the japanese spa one because i think it smells to die for! but upon recently finding this scent i had to give it a try. i love the colour of it, when i use it in the bath it turns the water a lush red/pink colour and smooths my whole body and i really do relax while it works its magic! its great for just a quick morning shower too, a great way to wake up in the morning... better than coffee! i find that if you really lather it up and apply to your back, leave it on for a few minutes and your skin is so soft afterwards! i will definitely be buying this product again and would definitely recommend!
I absolutely love this product! I think the packaging is done very well and makes the product look a lot more expensive than the average £1 it retails at in all the major supermarkets. I first bought this product because it was on offer at my local supermarket and I was drawn to the neat packaging and the very reasonable price. I do tend to have a pick 'n' mix of toiletries and don't usually buy the same thing twice in a row as I like the variety and I look at the best value for money products over loyalty to a particular brand, however, I am very pleased with this shower cream and would definitely buy it regularly.
The smell of this product is absolutely divine and has an air of luxury about it. It is a definite far cry to some of the products you can get, of the same price that seem very artificial.
I would highly recommend this product, however, the only downside is that it does seem to run out at quite a rapid rate as it seems a lot of the product does come out at once.
As this was on offer for only a pound at my local supermarket for 500ml i thought bargain ill give it a go. I tend to shower more for convieniance but after a hard day at the office i do like to pamper myself every now and then. The bottle is very luxerious which was another attraction. It looks just like a professional luxerious bubble bath but without the pricetag. When using this I did have to use quite abit to get the bubble factor but it was very shimmery smelt great and was perfect for what i needed. When using the product the scent lasted for ages and was incredibly mellow and did chill me out.For the pricetag its really well worth it. Im a girl on a budget but likes abit of luxerey so this was really ideal for me.I would really reccomend this product to everyone whos looking for something a little but special without the pricetag.
Over recent weeks I've spotted a few of the Imperial Leather bath creams on offer for just £1 for a 500ml bottle so thought I'd give a couple of them a try.
~ Packaging ~
This comes in a transparent plastic bottle with gold writing on it. The large cap / lid at the top is removed by turning it slightly and lifting it up. Not as easy to get back on, although not difficult you have to ensure that the lid is the right way round so that it fits snugly back on to the bottle and clicks closed.
The hole at the top is in my opinion a little too large as too much of the product pours out, especially when the bottle is full, that is until you realise this and get the right angle for pouring.
Note that the bottle can be recycled for those of you interested in this aspect.
~ The bumph~
The user is told to prepare for an indulgent experience when using this bath cream.
~ Luxurious fragrances.
~ Leaves skin soft, your soul rested and relaxed!
~ Night blooming jasmine has soothing properties and cotton milk keeps skin smooth and soft.
~ Dermatologically tested.
~ 100% soap free.
~ Skin friendly pH.
So to my experience of this bath cream:
~ Smell and appearance ~
This is a deep burgundy colour when in the bottle but obviously when poured out it's a lot lighter. I really like the smell of this product, it's not feminine and therefore isn't exclusive for women, good when you are buying it for family use.
The smell fills the bathroom whilst the bath is running and offers quite a calming, relaxing environment to bathe in. However it doesn't linger on my skin after bathing in it, not great if you want it to but an advantage for those of you who want to use other 'smellies' on your skin after a bath as it therefore doesn't clash with these!
~ The consistency and bubble factor ~
For me the bubble factor is all important in a bath and so many bath products have disappointed me on this but not so with this one. With a good helping of this bath cream the bubbles froth around the bath and there's no need to swill the running water around to get this effect. However they aren't long lasting and do disappear after soap enters into the equation of the bath time and washing.
The bath cream is quite thick and a good consistency certainly making it look as if it's slightly better quality than some of the others I've used of late.
~ Overall ~
A lovely smelling bath cream which initially provides good bubbles, all be them short lived! It doesn't make my skin soft and smooth although it doesn't dry it out. I don't feel indulged in luxury however I do enjoy going into the bathroom after the bath has been running with this product in it with the door closed.
A good purchase, worth the £1 but I wouldn't pay more than this for it so the value for money section is marked as good from me based on the price I paid for it.
Thanks for reading ~ Review also appears on ciao.
One of the things I really enjoy is a nice long hot bath and to top it all off it has to be complete with a good bath gel or cream to get you into a good lather. As I love trying new creams for the bath the thing that caught my eye with this one was the price it was on offer for £1.00 a bottle which is excellent value for money in my opinion so I bought two.
I found that the packaging was attractive and the colour of the cream was soothing and calming, the smell was lovely which is the main reason apart from the price of why I actually choose them to buy. When I used it, it made me feel fresh, clean, and rejuvenated also on a plus side it did not dry out my skin like other gels or creams I have used did. The only problem I have with product is the lid it's quite fiddly and awkward when your fingers are wet and also that the cream has quite a runny consistency so you have to be careful when you pour onto your sponge as it can come out very quickly and before you know it you've used half a bottle. Also I'm on that everlasting quest on finding a bath cream that leaves a lasting smell on your skin and unfortunately this product didn't leave a lasting smell so it's back to the drawing board.
The final word for me is that this is great product that's good value for money at £1.00 a bottle when on offer you cannot go wrong, well worth a try at least as it's not going to break the bank.
If I'm lucky enough to get half hours peace, I'll slip into the bath for a nice long soak and I like a nice bubble bath to help me relax and feel squeaky clean afterwards. I ended up trying this one, as Imperial leather is a well known brand that I've used a lot in the past. It was on special for £1 in Boots Instead of its normal price of about £1.90 for 500ml.
The bottle is fairly big so I assumed it would last a while. It's a clear curvy bottle so you can see the deep purple colour of the bath cream. To get the lid off, you just screw it once one way and pull it off. It has the imperial leather logo nice and big on the front of the bottle so it's easy to spot on the shelf.
According to Imperial leather, your skin will feel touchably soft afterwards, and your soul rested and relaxed.
Nothing I'm going to complain about there!
To use the product, I start running the bath and pour some of this under the hot running water. The deep purple colour filled the bath and started producing lots of bubbles. I could also smell the jasmine which was lovely. By the time I'd run the bath, the smell filled the bathroom and the water was lovely and bubbly, I couldn't wait to get in!
As well as using this in the bath water, I also poured some onto a bath scrunchie and used it to wash my skin, it lathered up really well and made me feel lovely and clean.
After my bath, I couldn't smell the product on me anymore which was a bit disapointing as it had a really nice scent, but my skin did feel noticably smoother, before I moisturised which was lovely.
Overall, I thought this product was good. It smelt lovely, bubbled nicely and left my skin feeling smoother. The only thing I don't like about it is the lid. It's a pain to take the lid on and off in the bath, and it's awkward to put back on. I think a flip lid would have been much better so you don't have to fiddle trying to get it back on when you're trying to relax.
I would use this again although I think I'll wait until I see it at £1 again as nearl £2 is a bit pricey for what it is.
I love all kinds of body care potions, bubble baths, shower gels, moisturisers, im always trying out new and different things available.
I saw this in morrisons for £1 normally about £1.89 so I thought I would give it a go.
The bottle is a clear plastic bottle in a nice curved shape, you can see its a lovely deep purple colour. It has a lid that you have to pull off. It has the normal imperial leather logo on the top of the bottle and in big letters further down it says PRECIOUS it then goes on to say " night blooming jasmine and cotton milk bath cream.......mmm this sounds divine!
It then says that it is a limited edition.
imperial leather state this product will :
leave your skin touchably soft and your soul rested and relaxed
it is triple moisturising ingredients
100% soap free
skin friendly PH
This plastic bottle can be recycled
this is a 500ml bottle
When I first tried to open this I actually found it quite difficult to pull the lid off, its quite hard to grasp the lid and when you do finally get it off its quite arkward to get it back on as it has to be exactly in the right place. I dont think you would get the lid off if you had wet hands.
Ok so I ran my bath and poured this under the tap whilst running, I always feel you get the best of the bubbles this way. I noticed straight away what a lovely deep purple this was, gorgeous colour.
Straight away the aroma filled my bathroom with a gorgeous scent, although im not quite sure it was jasmine but it was nice.
This did also produce alot of bubbles and throughout the duration of my bath (about half an hour) the bubbles were still there.
after getting out the bath my skin was lovely and smooth but I couldnt really smell anything on my body, although the smell lingered in my bathroom for a good while. strange huh!
I dont quite understand where the triple moisturising ingrediaents were, although my skin was noticeably smoother it wasnt anything special.
This is definatly a bubble bath just for the women as its a very feminine smell, as my husband commented on as he walked past the bathroom. he thought it was perfume, so I knew then that he certainly wouldnt want to use this in his bath lol
Although its quite a nice smelling product with loads of bubbles it doesnt quite live up to its name so I dont think I would purchase this again, especially not at its full retail price.
So in my conclusion no I dont find it PRECIOUS, there really isnt anything precious about it, so I can only give 3 stars for this as the negatives out weigh the positives for me,
I wouldnt really reccomend this to anyone as there are much better bubble baths out there that live up to their name.
I do have a love for bath foams as bath time in my house means ME time! I spotted this one on the shelf on one of my shopping trips and thought it looked and sounded very good, it was also on offer so I decided to give it a try. The one I chose was Imperial Leather Precious, night blooming jasmine and cotton milk bath cream, unfortunately looks can be deceiving.
The bath foam come in a clear plastic bottle which means we get to the deep purple liquid inside and always know just how much of it we have left. On the front of the bottle is the Imperial Leather logo and the product name, blow this is the name of the scent. The back of the bottle has the directions for use, product ingredients and a few other details about the bath foam. The lid is a deep purple colour and is also plastic. I have found it quite hard to get the lid on and off with ease and it needs a very hard twist to get it off.
~~USE AND RESULTS~~
It really is simple to use the bath foam, once you have got the lid off that is. A small amount needs to be poured under a running tap. I have found that only a small amount needs to be used as it does make a good lather. The lather lasted for the whole duration of my bath but I did notice that it started to go when my shampoo and conditioner mixed with the water. This was no great loss though as I do always wash my hair last. The bubbles and lather were all very nice and light. Despite the colour of this bath foam the water did not change colour in the slightest.
The consistency of the liquid is very good, it is not overly runny so loads of it runs out of the bottle at ones but it is not overly thick so it takes a lot of time to get it out of the bottle. It also starts to immediately lather once it hits the water.
The scent of the bath foam is very strong. I found it was quite heavy and not what I was expecting at all. I immediately smelt a deep floral scent to it and over the duration of my bath I started to notice a hint of perfume. I was not overly keen on the scent and found it was too strong. The scent lasted fort he whole duration of my bath which was about 20 minutes. Once I got out of the bath and dried off I was still able to smell this on my skin, even hubby noticed it when I came downstairs. He was not overly keen on the smell wither and we both agreed it was more for the older woman than the younger one.
My skin did feel nice and soft and very clean after bathing in this and for me this is the only good thing about the bath foam. I was still feeling moisturised a good few hours after my bath and I did like the feeling just not the smell. I have asked hubby to try this as he has sensitive skin but he has refused due to the smell, he does not want to be going to work smell of a woman!
The bottle size of the bath foam is 500ml and I would say it would give at least 10 baths as only a small amount is needed for each one. The shelf life of the bath foam is 12 months which is about right for a bath product.
The packaging is 100% recyclable.
There are some claims on the back of the bottle which say that this bath foam has triple moisturising ingredients, it has been dermatologically tested, 100% soap free and it has skin friendly pH. I can confidently say that I agree with the triple moisturising ingredients claim but am not entirely sure about the rest of them.
The product ingredients fro those wishing to know are:-
Aqua, sodium laureth sulphate, Cocamidopropyl betaine, sodium chloride, glycerine, parfum, polyquarternium-7, glycol distearate, cestrum nocturnum flower extract, gossypium herbaceum seed extract, laurth-4, sodium benzoate, lactic acid, tetrasodium glutamate diacetate, buthylphenyl methylpropional, haxyl cinnamal, limonene, linalool, CI 17200, CI 42090.
There are no claims on the packaging as to whether this bath foam has been made using animal testing or not.
~~PRICE AND AVAILABILITY~~
This bath foam and others in the Imperial Leather range are widely available from all supermarkets and large chemists. I managed to find it for the offer price of £1 in Asda which I felt was a good price. I would not be willing to pay any more for this product or others in the range.
Unfortunately I am not able to recommend this bath foam, it did leave my skin clean and very moisturised but for me the scent was way too strong. I was able to seem it for a good few hours after use and neither me or hubby liked it. I would say it was more for an older woman and this is definitely not for the male market. I am only able to give this 2 stars and these are both for the moisturisation it gives.
My sisters both got me lots of lovely toiletries for Christmas, and one of my sisters gave me four big bottles of Imperial Leather bath cream. I have already tried the Tempting Bath Cream which I loved, so couldn't wait to move onto my next bottle, the 'Precious' bath cream.
This product is fragranced with 'Night Blooming Jasmine and Cotton Milk' and Imperial Leather say it is Divinely Smoothing. It comes in a clear bottle with a dark purple lid, and lots of gold decorative designs on the front. The bottle has the distinct wavy shape which many of the other Imperial Leather products have. In fact the packaging is near identical to the 'Tempting' bath cream they do, but the shade of the product inside the bottle is a slightly different shade of purple.
I absolutely love the smell of Jasmine so was looking forward to using this one. In the bottle the product smells quite nice - very floral, but I wouldn't have necessarily identified the scent of it as Jasmine - it simply smells like quite a generic floral scent to me.
On pouring the cream into the bath it is a lovely deep purple colour. The Tempting bath cream would leave my bath water with a slightly pinkish colour to it, but this one doesn't leave any colour. It lathers up very well and creates lots of white foamy bubbles quite quickly.
The scent of the product when in the water is actually quite weak, and disappointingly I can only smell it for the first few minutes of adding it to my bath water - after this it isn't really noticeable at all.
The bubbles this product creates last well and are often still there at the end of my bath which is at least one positive thing I can say for it. Unlike more expensive products I can't really say I noticed any change in the water with this product -such as it feeling silkier or softer - but then if I'm completely honest I wouldn't really expect this from a relatively cheap brand such as this.
After using this, my skin feels soft and clean, but I don't particularly notice any other benefits from it. The scent doesn't appear to stay on my skin but I often use body washes while I'm in the bath too, so it's possible that they're covering any scent left by this product.
This product comes in a 500ml bottle and usually costs £1.58 from ASDA but is currently on a special offer at just £1. I would imagine that it would be stocked in stores such as Boots and Superdrug as well and a matching shower gel is also available.
On the whole I was not impressed with this product. It created a good amount of long lasting bubbles, but the scent wasn't particularly special and I couldn't actually smell it while it was in the water. It's not a product I would buy again, and nor would I recommend it.
Everyday (time permitting of course) I do try and treat myself to a nice long bath (30 minutes if I am lucky!) to soak away the aches and pains of the day, and to have a little read without the constant interruptions of...."Mum, what's for dinner/pudding/supper....where are my shoe's, Con's just hit me......", you know the one's!
I do always have a bottle of bubble bath in anyway for my kids bath, but or me I feel I have given up enough for my family (unfortunately including my waistline!) so try and get myself a couple of nice bubble baths, that can then be ferreted away for future reference!
After having a quick perusal of said section when shopping, I came across a well used and loved brand on offer for £1.00 a bottle, which would be at least a good few weeks use (but only if it stays hidden from the rest of them!).
The brand is Imperial Leather, and is one I use regularly in the shower gels, with me already having tried this particular scent in that form, so when I found it in a bath cream version I snapped it up!
This particular "flavour" is the "Precious, night blooming jasmine & cotton milk" version, and is a luscious pearlescent burgundy colour, deep and rich and completely enticing, I was thoroughly looking forward to trying this one out!
The bottle is the same design as the shower gels, with them having a rather modern look to them, though are in fact shaped for better fitting into a wet hand in the bath or shower, giving them the appearance of a "wave" down the sides.
Unlike the shower gel though this is much larger in size, with this being almost twice the size and holding 500ml of bath cream.
The lid is a pull of/push on design, which is ok when you first take it off, but I always have great difficulty in getting the id to snap" back on, not good when it has to be hidden after use!
There is plenty of information on the bottle itself, with it stating that this is a limited edition scented cream, with many of the newer limited editions being created specifically for there luxurious fragrances for an indulgent experience, that should leave you feeling relaxed, pampered and your skin soft too, though still boast that there products are dermatologically tested and safe for use by the entire family (if they can find it!).
To use you simply pour a small glug under the running hot water tap, and swirl the water a little to create voluminous bubbles, which this does....in spades!
The scent of this is completely divine, the jasmine is strong but not over whelming, though completely feminine smelling, which doesn't dilute down too much once added to the bath water (I do like a full bath).
After bathing I feel completely relaxed, so much so that I struggle to get out!
After drying my skin feels soft and smooth, though of course still needs moisturising well, but not due to any drying effects from the bath cream (more due to my obsession with shaving!).
This bottle lasted me a good few weeks with daily use, with me finding I had to add very little to the bath water to create the mounds of bubbles I enjoy so much.
Price wise this was purchased or £1.00, with there being a good few different scents in the range, and all as delicious as the next, though full price is more around the £1.60 mark.

This is a lovely bubble bath at a more than reasonable price, that feels like you have had a real treat, recommended!
