“ Brand: Cussons / Texture: Cream / Type: Shower Cream / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types „
Imperial leather is not a company that I usually go for as I have tried their soap bar and found it really drying and I didn't like the fragrance. I was visiting my parents this weekend and I stayed the night. They had the limited edition show cream from imperial leather, both the Tempting one and the Precious one. Both are limited edition and contain Jasmine but I think that the fragrance is different and this one is for the lady's and the other one is for the gents.
The shower gel is in the normal imperial leather packaging which is curvy and so is kind of easier to grip and less likely to fall when in the shower. It has a flap top lid and when it is full you have to be careful not to push too hard otherwise too much of it will come out. The gel is a purple colour and it looks to me heavily coloured as the colour looks very fake. This is a gel even though the name gives the impression of something creamier.
The gel lathers up well if you wet the skin first. It is smooth and silky. It makes my skin feel a little moisturised and clean. The scent of the gel is of Jasmine and vanilla. It reminds me of the smell of Elle from YSL. The scent is warming and it doesn't last very long though. Once I have washed it off it seems to fade away quite quickly.
The shower gel is available at major supermarkets and chemists nationwide. Imperial leather is a very common brand and so I would expect most major high street shops to stock them. Poundland also stocks imperial leather and I know that my local store stocks this limited edition one. This was bought from our local Tesco for £1 as it is on offer at the moment (normally £1.53).
I do like this shower gel but the scent only lasts seconds and it looks and feels very fake and artificial. It is cheap and it is widely available though. I would say that this is more of a winter shower cream as it is a warming scent rather than the citrus shower gels which are zingy and wake me up. I also think that this is really one for the lady's because of the scent.
Passion flower and rice milk shower cream from Imperial Leather is a very high quality shower cream. I find it smells quite similar to other rice milk based shower creams when you first put it on, but after it lathers up I can smell the passion flower much more and it has quite a sweet strong smell that comes through. So they have combined the rice milk and passion flower ingredients very well.
The packaging is elaborate and sumptuous, gold writing and an extravagant design around the Imperial Leather logo made of flowers and swirls.
The shower cream itself is a dark purple that I think looks amazing in the bottle. The bottle is clear so you can see the purple shower cream and it matches the purple flip top lid which is effective. The dark purple shower cream and gold lettering really go well together.
The shower cream is also velvety and silky. It is thicker in substance when compared to other shower creams but this does not effect the way it lathers up. On the back of the bottle it states that the shower cream is a truly indulgent and blissful experience. It also says that passion flower is known for its natural relaxation qualities, and I did find it relaxing and calming to use.
Passiona Flower and Rice Milk shower cream costs £1.53 from Sainsburys. It is currently on offer for 68p till the 27th September according to online sources so you may want to get hold of one soon.

My husband returned from Tesco with this little number, Imperial Leather's Limited Edition Tempting richly moisturising shower cream with passion flower and rice milk. I just love the exoticness of those two ingredients from the off!
The bottle I have is different from the one pictured in that it is a rich deep purple colour (very regal looking) and the body of the botle has a slight curve to it which makes it easier to grip in the shower as well as making it look a little bit sensual - who doesn't like curves lol! It has a flip top lid at the top which shuts with a satisfiying click so you know there won't be any leakages!
Passionflower is apparently reknowned as being a natural aid to relaxation and rice milk has been used in the orient for centuries to moisturise and nourish the skin. Imperial Leather has mixed these two ingredients together with their moisturising shower cream to make for a real treat come shower time.
The shower cream is also purple in colour but is more like a thick gel in consistency rather than a cream but perhaps it just appears so because it isn't white.
The fragrance is absolutely sumptuious, sweet smelling and to me smells a little fruity and also a tad like coconut although that essence does not feature in the ingredients so might just be my odd sense of smell!
The gel is rich and works up into an intoxicating lather which fills your shower with the scent of passion flower and as mentioned frutiness and coconut and my skin afterwards did indeed feel soft, nourished and clean and the fragrance was very relaxing and did linger enticingly on the skin post shower so for me this shower cream is a hit and I am sorry to see it is a limited edition only although these do often hang around for a good while despite this type of marketing.
The bottle states that this cream is family friendly so can be used by all, has triple moisturising ingredients, is dermatologically tested, is 100% soap free and has a skin friendly pH and the bottle is widely recyclable which is always a plus in my book.
This costs £1.53 for 250ml and was on a buy one get one free offer and I also note from their online site that they are also doing a 500ml bottle of Tempting Bath for only a £1 currently till 7th June so go pick one or two up if you think this is something you would also like to take into the shower or bath with you!
Thanks for reading. x
One of my favourite things to do is bathing or showering, there is nothing more relaxing than standing under a hot running shower head/lying in a hot bath, to wash away the worries and grime of the day!
This said I obviously get through a far amount of toiletries, especially as there are three other people in my house who feel the same way!
I seem to get through an extortionate amount of showering/bathing products, with shower gel being one of the most purchased and used product I get!
I will literally use any brand of shower gel that is on offer, but (thankfully) one of my favourite brands is very regularly on offer at my local Asda, so here I am reviewing another one!
The product in question is - "Imperial leather - tempting, passion flower and rice milk shower cream".
This particular scent is described as a "limited edition" but so far as yet to be taken off the shelves, such is the case with this particular brand, I think it promotes exclusivity and makes people buy the newest "flavour" sooner in case of missing out trying it!
There is all the obligatory information to be found on the bottle, brand name, product name, properties, volumes (250ml) and ingredients list.
My favourite thing about this particular brand though (apart from the scents available!) is the fact that it boast being "family kind" which for any mother is an important thing, if you can get away with it you always try to get a three in one cleaning product for the kitchen, so why would you want to get three different skin wash products if you can possibly avoid the expense!
This product offers triple moisturising ingredients, is dermatologically tested, 100% soap free and has a skin neutral PH, and after extensive use my kids have never had any sort of reaction to their delicate skin, especially my daughter as she has eczema like her Dad.
This particular scent is made from passion flower which is stated as being "renowned as a natural aid to relaxation" and the rice milk element as "being used for centuries in the Orient as an aid to moisturise and nourish skin".
The bottle itself is the obligatory stand up clear plastic bottle, complete with a modern looking "wave" down one side of the bottle, though this is to help the bottle fit snugly in the hand when using, it also makes it easier to grasp when your hands are wet.
The lid is a flip design, and is again made for to stop the gel inside from leaking, but as yet I have never struggled to open, even with wet hands.
The bottle is clear through which the beautiful deep purple gel is visible within, it looks so lovely I really am hard pushed to wait to use it!
The scent of this gel is slightly Oriental, with the flower being subtle but the creamy scent of the rice milk being noticeable, it makes for an unusual but really appealing scent.
To use I always squeeze a small amount onto my shower puff, which helps make mounds of fluffy lilac bubbles to wash with, more bubbles with less product used is always a plus for the shopper of the house!
The gel feels very luxurious to my skin, making me feel cleansed and fresh, but leaving the distinctive scent behind, and it seems to linger well after drying off.
Once washed and dried my skin feels lovely and soft, with the scent still there, these are prequisites for a shower for me!
Price wise these are available for £1.00 each, so find that I am quite willing to buy in bulk, at this price it would be rude not to!

This is one of my new favourite shower gel scents, and will be buying this again, recommended!

Being a total clean freak I really do get through a lot of bath and body products on a weekly basis which is why when I'm out shopping I will always look out for bargains on branded products that I am aware of.
Asda have had this particular shower cream on offer for ages now at a pound a bottle (usually more like £1.50 a bottle in all good chemists and supermarkets).
I picked it up cos I liked the name of it and the gold lettering on the bottle if I'm honest, I sniffed it in the shop and liked it and thats the reason I ended up with it!
The bottle is made from see-through plastic and is a slightly wavy shape with a purple flip-top opening to the top of it concealing a small hole. On the front of the bottle in white and gold writing we are told that it is Cussons Imperial Leather 'Tempting' Passion Flower & Rice Milk Shower Cream, Richly Moisturising 'Limited Edition'. On the back of the bottle other information provided includes being told a bit about the product, ingredients are listed as is the size which is 250ml (and the only size I have seen this available to purchase in by the way) and contact details for PZ Cussons are given. Nice bottle, easy to handle due to its shape and of course it is informative as it needs to be.
A Bit About The Product According To The Information Given On The Back Of The Bottle:
Prepare for a truly indulgent and blissful experience. We've combined luxurious fragrances with our sumptously smooth moisturising shower cream for the ultimate pampering experience. Our rich and intoxicating formulations will leave your skin touchably soft, and your soul rested and relaxed.
Passion flower is renowned as a natural aid to relaxation, while rice milk has been jused in the Orient to moisturise and nourish skin for centuries.
Triple moisturising ingredients
100% soap free
Skin friendly pH
Well the shower cream is just that reall, a purple coloured slightly shimmery looking cream which to me smells really beautiful and exotic with sweet passion flower being the main fragrance of it and it has a nutty sort of undertone to me which I assume is the rice milk also within it. It is a really balanced and well blended fragrance though.
You don't need to use very much of this at all per application and it lathers up on damp/wet skin with ease giving off a nice rich white foam as it goes, enough to shave with ladies too if you want to that is!
It leaves the skin smelling gorgeous, me gently hydrated and feeling soft and very clean indeed and all in all it is a pleasure to use though this one I reckon is really one for the ladies being so floral in its scent.
Although however I like this shower cream well enough and do find it to keep most of its promises I do feel a bit annoyed that the lovely fragrance I'm given in the beginning doesn't hang about for very long at all and after half an hour I can't smell it on my skin at all.
It's a nice shower cream which is kind to the skin and nice to use just a let down cos the fragrance doesn't linger sadly!

I love bubble bath and was immediately attracted to the deep velvet purple colour of a bottle in the supermarket.
The bubble bath in question was by imperial leather, a long standing brand of the cussons company which has been making soaps and such like for many years. This one I am reviewing is the limited edition passion flower and rice milk.
For 500mls the bottle cost me £1 on special offer, but at full price it is only £1.50 - a bargain.
The bottle is clear plastic which enables you to see the product, something I like whatever I am buying and the lid is pull off and the colour (purple in this case) depends on the one you are buying.
The lid is quite firm and you have to do a little twist with it for it to pop off. This may be difficult for people with arthritic hands and such like.
The writing is in a gold colour but quite simple and it looks right in the bathroom at Christmas time.
The product gives clear information on the back of the bottle - again in gold writing. There is a couple of paragraphs about the pampering and greatness of the product and a section in a box listing the ingredients.
The product is dermatologically tested and is 100% soap free and has triple moisturisers.
A nice touch is a little flower symbol which indicates the product if family friendly. This apparently means the product bottle is recyclable and made from recycled plastic.
**SO WHAT IS IT LIKE**
As previously said it was the colour that first attracted me. A deep velvet purple colour that has a pearlescent touch to it.
When you open the bottle you are immediately hit with a rich smell of passion flower. The smell just oozes indulgence and is suitable for most people male and female I would think.
When you pour it under the running tap, it does have a tendency to plop out rather than gently pour, so you can sometimes end up with more than you required. It very quickly disperses into a mass of foaming small bubbles which do last a long time. The smell is initially noticeable but does fade out fairly quickly in the bathroom.
It feels soft on your skin when you ar in the bath and you can feel the moisturising benefit from it, even after your bath.
Defiantly a product I will buy again and recommend, especially at such a bargain price.
