“ Brand: Impulse / Type: Shower Gel „
I received an Impulse gift set for Christmas with the Very Pink body spray and this Hot Pink shower gel.
You cannot get an Impulse Hot Pink body spray so there is no spray to match the scent of this shower gel.
~ Price ~
You can buy the gift set on amazon.co.uk for £5.74. The body spray and shower gel come in a black make-up bag.
The shower gel on its own costs £2.99 for 250ml.
~ Bottle ~
It comes in a plastic bottle with a rounded top, the same shape as Radox’s bottles and it sits on its flip cap lid. The front of the bottle has a large label on with, ‘Impulse Hot Pink’ written on it and a pink design of flowers and hearts.
~ In Use ~
The shower gel is a pearly pink colour.
It has quite a thin, runny consistency, but it isn’t too thin and it still creates a nice, creamy lather. It feels creamy rather than soapy, but still feels very cleansing and makes my skin feel clean and soft. It isn’t drying at all; it actually feels quite moisturising on my skin.
The scent is supposed to be floral blossom and citrus oils and it has a nice, exotic, fresh floral scent. It reminds me of Radox’s Eastern Spirit shower gel and it is also the same colour. Since Radox and Impulse are both brands belonging to Unilever it probably is the same stuff and in the same bottle design as well.
I can’t say I have noticed the scent lingering on my skin or even in my bathroom after I have used this shower gel, but I don’t mind this as it is not something the product claims to do.
I like this shower gel. I have noticed that a lot of shower gels that have come out recently seem to be more of a jelly-like consistency, which I loved at first, but the novelty has worn off a bit as I find the shower gel just seems to slide off your hand and doesn’t lather up at all. It is nice to be using a normal, liquid shower gel again as it makes me feel more clean.
I don’t think this shower gel is anything too special. I like it, but I wouldn't rave about it or go out of my way to buy it in the future.
Impulse hot and pink shower gel
I had never tried any of the Impulse shower gels although Little Miss does like the Impulse body sprays so when we recently went away she decided she wanted to stock up on the showering products.
The shower gel costs £2.99 for 250ml but is often on offer at half the RRP of so is quite good value. It is readily available in supermarkets and chemists and worth looking out for special offers.
The product comes in a plastic bottle with the information and instructions on the back of the bottle. It has a flip up, press down to close lid and the shower gel is dispensed via a hole in the top of the bottle. The shower gel itself is, as expected, pink and again as I would expect, it does smell floral. It is described as having a combination of exotic fruits and floral scents and will apparently turn my showering experience into a tropical paradise. It doesn't quite do that but the scent is very summery and definitely floral.
It is a nice thick gel although not so thick that I have trouble getting it out of the bottle, but definitely thick enough so that I know that I am going to get a good lather from it and feel that it will leave me nice and clean.
It can be used daily. To use, the product should be applied to a sponge and massaged into the skin making a lather. The lather doesn't disappoint and given that it is nice and creamy, a little of the product does go a long way. It rinses off easily and leaves a pleasant floral smell on the skin and in the bathroom. This is one best used when other perfumed products are not going to be used. It is a moisturising product and even when on holiday when my skin was drier than it would normally be, it left my skin feeling soft, although it is best to apply moisturiser after use.
The shower gel is skin neutral pH and dermatological lay tested and suitable for all skin types; the whole family has used this and no adverse effects have been suffered by anyone.
I do like this product and would buy the Impulse showering products again. It is definitely a "girlie" smell and looks like its a product belonging to females, but I suppose that's where the marketing lies on this one.
Easy to use, it leaves skin feeling soft moisturised and clean.
Recommended for daily showering.
