INECTO Pure Coconut Oil moisturising Body Wash shower gel
Buy something and park for free:
This product was another of my car park ticket purchases. In Derby we have a car park where you can reclaim your parking charges if you spend a fiver. For me I'd rather spend my money and get something than pay just to park the car. One of the shops in this car park is Home Bargains and that is where I usually end up spending my fiver.
They've got a lovely bunch of coconuts:
I'd never heard of this company prior to purchasing this product and was just attracted to it because it claimed to be 'Pure Coconut Oil' and I love coconut. Apparently Inecto was originally a hair care company but they also now manufacture this Pure Coconut range which has a number of products for bath, body, hands and feet treats.
On their website they proclaim the benefits of coconut oil:
"The coconut is a fertile source of skin and hair-enhancing benefits,
something the Pacific Islanders have known for centuries. Famed for their beauty and youthful appearance, they discovered long-ago that Pure Coconut Oil can soften, moisturise and protect hair and skin."
I just love the smell of coconut and the moisturizing benefits are an added perk. I shall certainly give the other body products a try. These include a Body scrub, Body lotion, Body crème, and a hand and nail cream. I can see my car parking choices are made for the next few visits.
The product comes in a white plastic tube with the flip top lid at the bottom. A picture of a coconut is centre front with the name of the product in green below. On the reverse instructions are printed in five European languages with English at the top.
The instructions are pretty obvious :"Apply to damp sponge or flannel , work into a lather. Rinse thoroughly.... Avoid contact with eyes.... If it gets in your eye rinse with plenty of water."
The product contains 100% pure coconut oil which will moisturize dry skin. The product is mild, gentle and PH balanced so is a pretty good prospect for sensitive skin. It does however have the surfactant Sodium laureth Sulphate which is the subject of much controversy in the toiletry trade. See http://www.natural-health-information-centre.com/sodium-laureth-sulfate.html for the concerns if you are interested. This is of course the chemical that makes a bath product lather up and make bubbles.
What is it like to use?
The product is a sort of whitish clear, thick cream, a bit like the colour of fresh coconut milk but a lot thicker. It feels lovely and soft and gentle when I use it on my skin. A little goes a long way and I only need about a desert spoon full to wash all my body. It lathers up well and gives off the most delicious coconut aroma that smells good enough to add to any pina colada!
After I have used this I don't notice the scent lingering on me but my skin does feel nice and soft and certainly doesn't have that itchy dry feeling that I get sometimes when I get out of my bath. Obviously this can be used as a shower cream wash or a bath wash as it is sensibly marketed as a body wash leaving the method largely up to the individual choice.
Would I recommend?
Yes I shall be buying this again as it wasn't expensive, smells divine. I can lie in my bath and imagine I am on a tropical island enjoying a fresh coconut milk straight from the coconut (now where have I seen a photo of me doing just that?) or indeed a pina colada if I fell like something a bit more tempting.
My skin feels lovely and it has a very creamy, luxurious feel as I am using it. It does have the nasty surfactants but the so many products do it is hard to find ones that don't. So if you love coconut then this will appeal if you don't the steer clear. If you have concerns about chemical surfactants then just be aware that this does have these in the list of ingredients so investigate for yourself if you need to avoid them because of allergic reactions. This is an inexpensive nice smelling creamy bath product for lovers of things with a coconut smell.
