Advantages: Deeply relaxing stuff
Disadvantages: None for me
Why Dead Sea Bath Salt with frankincense?
I received this intriguing tub as a gift - from a lady who knows that I'm a vegan so of course she checked first that this product is suitable. There is not much in here additive wise which pleased me again. Just essential oils, rose petals and the sea salts. I was ready to try.
The tub of delights
I find the packaging to be aesthetically pleasing. I'm not one for fuss though I like quality and this tub satisfies my requirements in that department. I think a little bit of information or a symbol relating to the suitablity for vegans/vegetarians would be helpful but other than that it does the job that it was designed to do well. It still catches my eye in Boots and on my shelf so the design works well.
I like the transparency of the tub - you can see the large quality dead sea salts and the rose petals - which my husband has nicknamed 'pencil shavings' - I have to admit that he is pretty accurate in that observation as when they are floating in the bath water they do look much like that.
The main event - soak time
Promises of calming the mind, creating a haven of relaxation and soothing the skin appealed and I could not wait for the bath to be drawn. I readied myself for my pampering session and before I had even dipped a toe into the water my senses were greeted by the exotic aroma of Frankincense. I adore this fragrance and was immediately at ease once in the water.
I normally relax in the bath quite easily as it is me time but something about this product brought about a deeper relaxation and this was experienced on each occasion that I used the salts. This was a reason for me to purchase more in the future.
We have hard water in our area and normally the limescale can be felt around the water level minutes after settling in to the tub. A rather pleasing outcome from using the salts is that the limescale scum does not develop! Result.
I wash my face and body whilst in the bath and like to have a good soak - I have not had any adverse reactions. In fact quite the opposite - my skin is softer and smoother. Noticeably my lower legs have not been irritated at all and it can be normal for them to be irritated by bath products. This is a very positive result for me.
I throw about a palmful of salts into the running water and I would estimate that this tub has lasted near enough four weeks. We bathe every night as a rule in winter - it warms you up and is pampering and relaxing. I'm pleased with the length of time that the salts have lasted but I'm even more impressed that the tub is emptied so soon as we sometimes tire of one product and begin to use another before the current tub/bottle is empty - this stuff is an instant hit!
I have found it easy to clean the bath following the use of the bath salts - it actually helps reduce the limescale caused by our hard water - the petals just need a quick rinse out and I have not found it to be a task. It certainly won't stop me buying more.

I'm very pleased that I got this as a gift - I had never tried it up until now. I will be purchasing it regularly. The smell of frankincense is gorgeous and actually does deeply relax and make me feel content. My breathing slows and I enjoy my comforting pamper bath. I have noticed softer skin and my sensitive legs are not irritated - infact they definitely like it. The petals look pretty in the water - if rather similar to pencil shavings. They are easy to rinse from the bath and the salt helps to clean it! The price is reasonable for this quality product which lasts a good length of time. The company have good ethical standards and are cruelty free - the website is certainly worth a visit as it is comprehensive - you can buy from your Boots store or order from Boots online. Watch out for offers - currently there is a great offer on this range. I'm impressed with this one.
