Advantages: Nice smell, good lather, smell lasts after rinsing.
Disadvantages: None really for me
I have recently reviewed Joop Jette Eau de Toilette spray for women. I explained in this review that I had been given, as a present, a boxed gift set. This gift set contained 30 ml of Jette Eau de Toilette spray, along with matching shower gel and a body lotion.
I am known to delay opening these gitf sets because mostly they look to good to separate and use. My husband keeps asking why I purchase shower gels and other toiletries from pound shops and Savers when I have cupboards full of small containers of toiletries. He's right, but I buy family sized and family type toiletries for every day use. When I am presented with lovely toiletries as a gifts, then I prefer to keep them for special occasions. Also, with some I, selfishly perhaps, like to keep them for my own personal use. Once left in the bathroom they are anybody's!
Although I have had Jette shower gel for several months, I only used it on Saturday. As I was going out for a meal I thought it a good time to use it, especially as Christmas is approaching and I may be lucky enough to be . given new supplies at.
I only used a little. I have sensitive skin and so like to go easy on perfumed products so began my ablutions by using Simple soap. I'm telling you this so that you will know that I don't stint on cleansing items.
The tube matches the perfume bottle. It is mauve in colour and has a silver lid. The EDT bottle actually has a mauve lid but the neck is silver. The lettering is white. The tube that I have is 75 ml (2.5 fluid oz). It looks nice as a stand alone product and would make a great stocking filler. If supplied in a gift set then it makes an attractive gift.
Although I didn't intend to use that much I still found pleasingly, that a little went a long way. The smell is just like that of the perfume, but probably a little nicer in a shower gel than a EDT spray.
The flip lid is quick to open. The gel is easy to apply. It didn't make a mess on squeezing.
This shower gel smoothed over the skin well and worked into a good lather. I thought it cleansed well, but especially liked the luxurious aroma it gave off.
After I had showered and was dry I could still smell the scent of Jette Sensual shower gel. It definitely seems to me to be an evening scent due to it being a little on the heady side, therefore best for nights.
My skin felt soft and not overly dry.
I used a little of the body lotion, thinking I might as well go the whole way and prove truly irresistible! I completed this with a small touch of Jette Eau de Toilette fragrance. This I sprayed into the air and walked under it. As I feel this scent is quite strong I didn't want to overdo the application on wrists etc. but preferred an all over hint of the scent.
A 150 ml (5 oz) tube of Joop Jette sensual shower gelo slls for £21.00 at Strawberry Net.
The same sized tube sells for £9.56 at Auravita- Much better!
When one looks at the prices for items such as designer shower gels and creams, it shows that the gift sets are usually well worth purchasing. I believe that my present was obtained from a high street perfume shop, and would have cost around the £20 mark for three products.
Summary: A decent product which works out good value if bought as part of a set.
