Jo Malone Bath Oil
Advantages: Lovely scent
Disadvantages: A bit expensive but worth it
Ever since my first visit to a Jo Malone store I have been a big fan of her fragrances. They are simply gorgeous and can be layered with other scents in the range to give lots of variety.
My favourite fragrances are Grapefruit and Amber and Lavender. Although not cheap to buy they last a long time. This however was a problem when my husband wanted to buy me some cologne as I already had plenty so he decided to get the bath oil.
I adore a long relaxing bubble bath. It creates a little oasis of calm in an otherwise busy life. The Jo Malone bath oil was therefore the perfect treat. I have the Lavender and Amber which is a lovely warming fragrance which I particularly like for the evening or in the cold dark winter months.
If you are already familiar with the colognes then I should warm you that not all the fragrances are available as bath oils but as they cover the full range of perfume families eg citrus, floral, woody, spicy etc I am sure you will find one you like. Indeed if you already use one of their colognes it is worthwhile to take advice about which bath oil would be a good one to layer it with. The bonus of asking in store is that you may well receive a complimentary hand massage.
I have the 250ml bottle which is in the typical understated style of Jo Malone. It is a clear bottle with a black top and a black label edged with gold. It certainly does look a luxury product although I should point out that this size of bottle is made of plastic. No doubt a glass would increase the price however the 200ml and 15ml are both available in glass bottlers which would be lovely to give (or receive!) as a gift. Being in a clear bottle it is easy to see how much you have used.
As soon as you take the top off the bottle you can smell the fragrance. Although expensive the high quality means you only need a little oil in your bath. Take care when pouring not to add too much as a small amount creates a lovely smell. The oil is also moisturising so your skin is nice and soft afterwards. I have heard of people rubbing the oil into their skin after their bath but I prefer to use the oil in the bath. I love the fragrance so much I like to run the bath with the bathroom door open to allow the armour to waft around the house. Needlessly to say once I am in my bath the door is firmly locked and the family are under orders not to disturb!
I would certainly recommend this product despite the cost as it is so lovely. The 250ml bottle does work out better value than the smaller ones. For example at around £38 it works out at £15.20 per 100ml whereas the 15ml bottle at £15 works out at £50 per 100ml.. The fragrance remains on your skin so often I don't bother with the cologne afterwards and my skin feels soft.
Summary: My perfect bath
