For some time now my local branch has been undergoing some refurbishment to bring us customers "a brand new Sainsburys coming soon". I was in Sainsburys the other day, and I noticed that a lot of the new aisles had been completed, one of them being the beauty and skincare aisle with newly installed bays for brands like Rimmel which held their collection of makeup products. I decided to browse this aisle but was more so looking at the shower gels etc as my shower gel at home was running out and I was in need of a top up. I spotted this Johnson's 24 hour moisture gentle exfoliating wash for a REALLY CHEAP price (will be revealed at the end!) and so into the trolley 4 of these went!

The body wash comes in a beige, plastic tube to match the "theme" of the body wash as it contains shea & cocoa butters and so it is written in brown font what it is and that it is for naturally radiant skin and all day softness. The tube is really soft and flexible and easily squeezable even when full of the bodywash. You are not able to see all the product inside which is a bit annoying but I can gather from the weight how much is left in it! It has a flip top lid which is at the bottom of the bottle so it's really easy to get some out as the bottle sits this way down! It is a 200ml tube which is rather a generous amount so it is a decent size.
- The Bodywash -
The bodywash is a rather thick, beige gel consistency but runny enough to be easily squeezed out through the tube. It has exfoliating beads and has an absolutely amazing scent of shea butter and cocoa butter as soon as squeezed out onto my shower puff. I am using shea oil at the moment for my hair so I know it has really nourishing properties and this smells absolutely lovely. It reminds me of the smell of the vaseline cocoa butter gel which is one of my favourites! The bodywash is really easy to apply and I use it by squirting a small blob onto my shower puff and liberally scrubbing it all over my body. I find it lathers up really well and I literally did only 3 squirts in my shower puff to be able to apply the body wash all over.

I am soooo impressed and in love with this body wash! It is a great exfoliants and I can properly feel it scrubbing at my skin! It is not in a harsh or irritating way, but a gentle scrub which feels wonderful and is very efficient at removing lot's of dirt and grime as I can see it gliding down the drain and in the lather of the bubbles as I rinse my body. The nourishing shea butter and cocoa butter are brilliant at leaving my skin feel really soft, luxurious and moisturised after use! Another bonus is that the bodywash also leaves my skin smelling absolutely AMAZING as it really lingers and is very rich but not overberaringly sweet. My only teeny flaw with this is that it says it gives "24 hour moisture" but I don't think this is really true! I can have quite dry skin anyway, and whilst this does not strip my skin of it's natural moisture in anyway I still need to use a moistuiser/lotion after having a shower with this bodywash or my body just feels dry and uncomfortable!

Now this is my favourite part. I bought this for......wait for it....25p. YES TWENTY FIVE PENCE. When I saw it I thought this must be a mistake so I asked a member of staff if the price was correct and she laughed and said yes. When asking why she said because it was being discontinued and they had lots in store they wanted to shift. After giving it a sniff she told me she bought 10 herself and it was amazing and (now having used it) I totally agree. I bought 4 as they were the last on the shelf, and she said it was a limit of 6 per customer (and I didn't want to look totally crazy/greedy lol) so thought by taking 4 I still maintained some level of dignity haha!

I am in LOVE with this body wash and I am so glad my beady eyes saw it as it is my best frugal purchase to date. I have only used this for a few days but it has hardly gone down so I know my 4 tubes will last me ages! There was another product massively reduced that I also bought but will probably get through this tube first then give the other a try. Needless to say I am giving this a massive 5 stars and for 25p I really can't complain!
To be totally honest, I am more of a soap and water kinda girl when it comes to showering than using shower gels, as firstly my skin can be quite sensitive, and I find the dove sensitive soap leaves my skin soft, smooth and clean. However, when I am given shower gel as a gift I wil always make use of it, and within one of my Christmas gifts last year, I was given this Johnson's bodycare 24 hour moisture gentle exfoliating body wash, which usually retails around the £3 mark fro a 200ml tube.
I tend to have oily skin as well, and sometimes get break outs around my shoulders and so the fact that this was an exfoliating wash appealed greatly to me. I also liked the fact that it contained shea and cocoa butter, and I couldn't actually wait to try it, however I was finishing off an avon shower gel before opening this one a couple of weeks ago.
On the front of this skin coloured tube, it states that this gentle wash is 'for naturally radiant skin and all day softness' and since Johnson's are linked very much with baby products, the softness is probably understandable. It states on the back of the product that the Shea and Cocoa butter have been added to the body wash due to their 'hydrating and smoothing' properties.
When you open this product, before even putting it on your skin, you can smell the gorgeous creamy aroma of the shea and cocoa butter, which really gives it a luxurious feel. As you squeeze out the body wash the little exfoliating beads are very apparent, and you feel them gentle rubbing at your skin, cleansing it from the impurities of the day. The body wash is also so easy to spread and lathers well and that beautiful scent lingers as your wash and afterwards on your skin. The smell is so enticing, that I have to be careful not to use too much of the product in one go! Afterwards, I feel that my skin is soft and smooth and most importantly clean.
Of all the shower gels that I have ever been given, including the several avon ones I have tried, this is by far the nicest. I absolutely adore the scent that it leaves on your skin and as you wash, as well as the exfoliating beads which keeps my oily and spot prone skin in check. The product claims to offer 24hour moisture, and I suppose I find this harder to comment on, as my skin doesn't tend to be dry anyhow, so I probably don't notice the lasting moisture, but in saying that my skin does feel smooth and soft all day. This is a really great product, and one I would definitely buy myself, despite not being that keen on shower gels.
